Wonderful staff and location
Minor street noise due to some local construction...nothing to due with hotel
Initially, staff was friendly but now we now it was deceptive. THe building is old but lovely, however, not kept up very well. They said they "upgraded" us to a different room . It was dirty, the air-conditioning didn't work and very noisy..windows didn't shut well and we were up all night from the street noise…good location during the day, but not at pm. THey were friendly but kept tricking us..the second room air cut off too. Also it looked nice initially but it is quite run down.
THe noise level at pm. Windows didn't shut, NO AIR CONDITIONING. They moved us , the air worked briefly but then it shut off. THey also told us to PARK our car across the street. 'It's cheap" after 2 pms, it was $160.00,. They also added a "location " fee which was not on the Booking. com sheet…(we knew about the taxes and one other charge) WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT, you should look into this, it could've been great.
The staff was incredibly helpful for our visit. Jose was so nice and set us up with a personal taxi taking us to Fajardo. The hotel is amid great shops restaurants in Old San Juan.
The idea of staying in this beautiful old building
The staff was rude, completely unconcerned with the guests experience. The suite was filthy and TV was broken, toilet wasn't working, lights not working, balcony doors didn't close. This hotel has fallen into utter disrepair. Staff was drinking beer at the front desk. Breakfast was a disaster.
This was our second trip here and we love it...staff is great!!!
The staff was very friendly. Thank you to Stephanie, who had all the answers and information before we had a chance to ask. Room was very clean. Room very welcoming and very clean. Continental breakfast very good. Location fantastic.
Not applicable to us We enjoyed our stay very much.
Charming hotel in the middle of Old San Juan - walking distance to everything! Great pre/post cruise destination. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Yes - it was a little noisy. That is old is Old San Juan, not a reflection on the hotel.
Great location, stylish and modern decor, very clean and good wifi.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, but some didn't seem to know the area very well. Not a lot to complain about. Very good hotel.
Individual treatment. Front desk personnel went out of their way for all of us during our entire stay!!!!
I seriously do not know where to begin with this review. The wonderful staff went above and beyond for us on the booked stay and was more than accommodating on an unexpected layover in Puerto Rico. We have never come across hotel staff that loved their jobs and went out of the way to ensure that current and previous guest were more than comfortable. We will only stay this hotel from this point forward while visiting pr. The 12 hours we stayed on the unexpected 2nd stay was even better than the booked stay and that's saying a lot. The hotel's decor was spot on. Modern, chic and very comfortable. Boutique hotel of superb quality. The showers were splendid. The beds super comfy. Just wonderful.
There is really nothing to not like. This hotel and staff were wonderful.
The location was very good. Close to a lot of good restaurants and activities. The hotel was good for the price. The suite was very good sized and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and always pleasant.
The WiFi was not working except in the lobby. Not a major problem, but an inconvenience. The noise from the city emptying the dumpsters 2-3 times per day was annoying, but not a fault of the hotel. Other than that the room was above a relatively quiet street.
Location , friendly staff
Everything about this hotel was excellent, from the staff and service to the facilites and location.
1. Every room has balconies 2. Extremely friendly staff 3. Lots of restaurants at walking distance 4. Parking lot in-front of hotel 5. Location is superb 6. Good feel of the hotel. 7. Good breakfast and hospitality.
1. Full size bed. Might be small for a couple. 2. Carpet might need some cleaning.
The room was comfortable, hair dryer and toiletries were available.
When checking in after a late flight into SJ we were greeted by a security guard who just gave us paperwork to sign but couldn't answer any questions about the actual papers and fees. He just said sign the papers and ask the next day. You can stay at a much better hotel for the price. The standard room is advertised as $162.50 a night, but with the 18% tax and extra $25 a night, it adds up to $216/night. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!! The room seemed clean upon first inspection but apparently not enough since the previous guests had left stuff partially visible under the bed (flip flops, cruise bracelet, inhaler) which made me wonder how thorough they had been with the cleaning. Street noise from garbage trucks very early in the morning (before 7:30 AM) and we were staying in a room facing the back street which is supposed to be quieter. The bathroom door is made of non-frosted glass and directly in front of the bed; with the light on in the bathroom you can pretty much see everything that goes on in the bathroom. How about some privacy? The water pressure for the shower was variable so all of a sudden you would get much hotter water with this change. Shower door is not sealed so if not careful the bathroom floor gets wet. Had to shower pretty much in a corner... And to top it all off, the iron in the room didn't work. Would never stay here again.
Two grandparents and a family of three occupied a regular room and a suite. Nice room, very nice suite (Happy Anniversary, kids!). Accommodating, pleasant personnel, generally good info. Quick fix to minor problems. At edge (?) of "Old Town", it was a good staging point. Nice ambiance.
No parking, even to unload our car, we had to use the parking garage across the street and haul all our stuff to the hotel (leaving was easier, the cab just stopped up front). Some noise from the streets - we were on the 3d floor. No real problem. Proximity to cruise ship harbor exposed us to the direct onslaught of cruisers.
The staff was fantastic! The location was fantastic! The breakfast and especially the coffee was really good. However, it was very noisy outside the hotel at night and the noise carried- we had to use earplugs to sleep.
Location was very good and staff friendly and they helped us with an early check in
Absolutely unacceptable breakfast... with no fresh fruit no eggs ham cut one slice×4 same for cheese and no free selection of at least bread you had to ask for an extra slice! Hotel offers nothing except reception....rooms very noisy. Would not recommend. ..and will not stay again. .
Walking distance to San Juan National Historic site, good brewery a few minutes walk up the road.
Random street noises at night. You might need earplugs,
Love the quaintness of this hotel and the staff are wonderful! Room was lovely and the area was fantastic. You can walk to the port in 5 minutes, $20 cab from the airport. Exceeded our expectations.
Wi fi was not working
