I love that place. It is very many close to the places, beach, highway, and airport. They alerted us about the flirting Gonzalo hurricane as red alert. They have some accord ommatidia for deaf. That was cool!
I am only disliked is mosquitoes.
OUR BELL HELP GUY WAS AWESOME! HE WAS SO INFORMATIVE ABOUT PUTTING OUR LUGGAGE ON THE BOAT EARLY AND HAVE ALL DAY UNTIL 10:00 THAT NIGHT TO PLAY AROUND WITH NO BAGS!!! WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL! /TRY & DARRYL FROM WASHINGTON, DC.
THAT WE HAD TO LEAVE THE NEST DAY FOR THE CRUISE! :)
The location was kind of a downer for me... Not close to the beach but I knew that from the beginning so that's my fault. The best part was probably the fact that's there's a grocery store across the street that sells liquor! Also, a really inexpensive and good restaurant called Bebos is around the corner. Overall the hotel was awesome and super comfy. Not as small as some reviews are saying.. But I'm used to the small hotels in Atlanta, Ga so that's probably why. But try it! Much cleaner than some of the other more expensive beach front hotels..
Clean hotel, nice warm spa and pool. Good staff.
Difficult to find, at least for our taxi driver. Steps into spa too high for a short person.
I liked bathrooms, very friendly staff (as all around in PR actually). Bed was comfortable, room was clean.
Some extra charges on top of the bill were strange. So room is more than 30% expensive. No breakfast. And we were given queen size bed which was a bit small for 2 people.
Decent place to stay, I understand the incident fees but next time instead of saying $50 please say $50/night
The location is excellent, and the hotel itself is beautiful. We really enjoyed our daily Cookie! And right in front of the hotel there's a 24 hr supermarket, which is really convenient. We enjoyed the pool. It's conveniently located near one of the main highways.
The only thing I didn't like was the hardness of the bed. Maybe adding a pillow-top would help.
The employees at the reception and the restaurant were friendly and helpful.
There was nothing not to like
Was impressed by layout and decor of room. Liked everything from my welcome to farewell. The valet men, the front desk were courteous and willing to please.
Cafe took long in bringing food.
need to provide pick up service from airport
Great location and the cookies.
The staff was very courteous and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about key places to visit in San Juan. For example, we wanted to eat food from the local favorite places and the staff delivered with their recommendation.
We wished that the hotel was closer to old San Juan because the taxis to certain destinations were quite pricey.
clean rooms great location
the parking even though its not part of the hotel has the rudest employees been there 2 times this year ..and never ever a smile or a thank you and its not cheap..
the knowledge and friendliness of the staff.
no air conditioning in the hallways and the maids service did not clean the room throughly.
the fitness center could have better air conditioning
WE WERE ON OUR HONEYMOON AND ENJOYED OUR STAY FOR THE 2 FULL DAYS IN PUERTO RICO BEFORE LEAVING ON OUR CRUISE! Wonderful Location and Awesome Room! Thank you!
The service was great staff was veryhelpfull friendly
The pool was a little small
Close proximity to the airport. Friendliness of staff.
The advertisement of the location to be close to the shopping mall Plaza Las Americas is a bit unfair. The mall is approx. 3.5 miles away and the taxi fare is US$ 17.--/ one way! The same rate is required for the transport from the airport to the hotel. Approx. traveling time in the morning at 7.30 am just 10 minutes max.
Close to old san juan and other touristic attractions. Very friendly staff
Worse bathroom ever. Bathroom has no walls. It is a weird glass construction and closes with a sliding door (that does not even close well)... and is located exactly next to the bed.. so if you are not a solo traveler... do not count on having any privacy in the bathroom!!! People can hear and see everything!! Also extremely poor quality of food in a ridiculously expensive price. For a very non-tasty salad and Turkey -club and 2 drinks (we did not even finish them despite our hunger..and we were waiting a good 45 min for them) we ended up paying $65
The service was amazing. All employees were very helpful and attentive to all request and needs.
Car was scratched in valet parking. Not a huge deal but the process I had to go through was aggravating since it was a rental. Staff was very helpful and apologetic though.
Staff was great, rooms were nicely appointed, pool area was nice, convenience to Ashford Ave. and Condado Beach
Pillows were not as comfy as they could have been, bed was very firm
The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was located within walking distance of many very nice places to eat and drink. We loved our stay other than a few very small details. Thank you doubletree staff!!!!
We found the bed very uncomfortable. The bathroom setup although very modern looking was very conducive to any privacy while using the bathroom.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when we wanted a place to go for dinner and suggestions for things do while we there.
The pool is small. We didn't lay out there because there were people every where. We went to the beach instead.
We got an excellent greeting after a long flight from the receptionist (Peter) - warm cookies, a speedy check-in and a great recommendation for a restaurant just a short 3 mins walk away. The room was clean, spacious and the bed was really comfortable. We had problems with arranging for a private tour online to the Camuy caves and Arecibo Observatory, but the hotel offered those as well and Peter managed to put us on the list at short notice. Be sure to request for free access to the private beach belonging to La Concha Resort, it's a 20 minute walk away. If the walk is too long for you, there is a public beach just 3 blocks away. Liked how we could use the gym and jacuzzi 24-hours and also the printing service available for us to print our boarding pass. Best of all, the hotel kindly allowed us to check out a couple of hours later! Very very pleasant stay and we had a hard time leaving.
For the sake of being picky, the hotel was quite awhile away from Old San Juan, which may be inconvenient if you do not have a car. There are public buses within a 5 minute walk, but they are rather unreliable. We did not have breakfast as part of our room rate.
