El Canario Boutique Hotel    

The setup and location was nice. Also the hotel was clean & provided breakfast.

small room & even smaller bathroom. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel.

The entire staff catered to our requests and made it a wonderful vacation.

A very unique older building with lots of character

Small shower, small lavatory/sink, no hot water, no parking - you had to use the lot at the Marriott hotel which as a block walk, no hair dryer

I stayed at the hotel with my sister and we both enjoyed our stay, very clean, excellent beds, very friendly staff and the hotel is centrally located to the beach and also to bus system to travel to old San Juan

The breakfast could have been a better variety with added fruits

My only comment is the administration didn't received the request that I send it and I didn't received any message about my request!! So I stay in the other place!! The other was good not complaint thanks

I liked the fact that the hotel is located in a central area - 15 minutes away from the airport, shopping mall etc.

I didn't like that the floor in my room was dirty!

Walls dirty, room & bed much too small, cable wires hanging on the wall, bathroom floors not tiled, dogs in a next door resident wake you early in the early morning barking.

Location, value priced, friendly staff, security. Just a nice place to stay.

The patio is really nice, we felt like home. The staff is nice and friendly. The hotel is located perfectly, there are several restaurants and bars close to it and the beach is at 1 minute walk.

The room was too tiny, the bathroom and the shower were uncomfortable. The breakfast is not the best.

The personal upon our checking in was very cold and did not gave us any informations about the facilities..

Good price for the area. Friendly helpful staff. In touristic part of san juan with 2 minute walk to the beach.

Food served for breakfast left plenty to be desired. I understand it is a budget hotel, but i'm sure they could do better than stale pasteries and dillute coffee.

We enjoy the staff they good and helpful all the time. And the hotel is in the middle eferything that what so good about the stay it was in walking distance to a few of the hot spot.And the beach is in your backyard which we love and we are from flordia which we are know for there beaches! Just take the time to check everything out we are planning another trip with the kids for Aug2013 this year. And it clean and safe that what we look for. So come a stay at the El Canario you will have a great time!

Nothing we did not like,

the localisation was great, just walking distance to the beach and nice places to eat. The breakfast was not so good but it existed.

The staff wasn't friendly and nice at all. The hotel was noisy. They sprayed some bug spray in the kitchen with all the food for the breakfast around.

Location and value for money. Clean affordable rooms in a tourist hot spot, 1 min walk to beach.

If you book a double room, do not expect 2 queen beds in the room like North America. Usually means one bed and a bed cot.

The staff, especially Oscar, was awesome! Super close to the beach (literally around the block), great bars across the street.

Mosquitos in the courtyard. The room we had was tiny.

The location is superb, many bars, restaurant within walking distance.

Several people from the reception were not that kind. Pr people are usually nice and friendly but not at the reception of the hotel. Tv was not working.

The hotel is located in a safe part of San Juan with lots of restaurants and shops. Free internet in the lobby is relatively fast.

The El Canario is poorly maintained. Our room lacked a ceiling light fixture and had bare wires. The air conditioner also seemed faulty. The staff is mostly not very friendly (at times I thought I was in Faulty Towers) but there are some friendly staff. You only get one key to your room (and the outside) which is inconvenient if there is more than one guest.
