The building was beautiful. Location great. I could see the ocean from my bed. There were complimentary tea, coffee, fruits all the time, at a very nice terrace. Staff was extremely helppful, very friendly. It was diificult to call the pool, pool. A little bit bigger than aa bathing tub. Room service was quite late. Our beds werenot done until 3 pm in the afternooon, which did not bother me, but can be annoying if you want to spend some time in your room around lunch time.

Have stayed at El Convento many times over the last decade. It is an Oasis in Old San Juan which is an Oasis in itself. The convenience to the City walls where one can walk by the sea and watch the ships come in is truly special. One can understand how peaceful it must have been when it was a Convent.

Beautiful hotel, great food, wonderful amenities -- especially like 24 hour lounge with coffee, water, fruit and sun porch. In the heart of Old San Juan -- great for shopping and sight seeing. A little noisy at times.

The Staff was very friendly, very professional, always willing to help or assist. The hotel is beautiful, right in the heart of the city, within walking distance to points of interest. That I was only there for 2 days.

The professionalism of the staff. The location. The history. The uniqueness. The fact that we were given a twin room rather than a double. The fact that several aspects of our room were not working as they should. The stuffiness of the tapas restaurant. The fact that the hot water for the tea on floor 3 was not hot.

The hotel has an amazing history and is an elegant place to stay right in the heart of Old San Juan. We were upgraded to a beautiful room done in great Spanish style. The bed was super comfy. Everything first rate. Lovely wine and cheese happy hour. Tapas restaurant in hotel is the best! When we arrived, we were told we would have a room with a bay view but it would have twin beds. For a mature couple this suggestion did not go over well. Fortunately, they upgraded us to a great room right away.

Location and historical presence enhanced by excellent attention to detail. The included manager's nightly wine and snack event and a.m. help-your-self to quality fruit and coffee may add into the room rate, but they were great. Water damage - a constant maintenance problem - therefore only a minor issue with us

The eclectic charm of the place. The building and decor are really splendid. The location in old San Juan is excellent. The selectopn of beers at the Pizza and beer bar are amazing. The food there is also very good. We got the room well under then posted price so it was well worth the money. This a real gem. The restaurants for supper were a bit blah but there are plenty of really good restaurants near by.

This hotel is a fantastic experience. The location is Old San Juan is unbeatable. The staff is always ready to help - with arrangements, any special needs, whatever. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate with chocolates on the pillow at turn-down time and classical music on the Bose radio. Great Puerto Rican coffee freshly brewed 24 hours a day for enjoyment on the veranda; complimentary wine and cheese every evening. Good restaurants - a great plus if you're tired after a day of historical sightseeing and shopping. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

Location in San Juan and charm of 360 year old convent converted to a hotel. Also front desk service and porters were excellent. We stayed two nights: on the 12th and also on the 18th of September on route to Dominica. The food was really poorly prepared and served - not nearly up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
