Wasn't able to get to it
Unreachable... You need a 4X4 to go. Ridiculous cancellation policy
I really loved the privacy, its so calmed, all nature. The doggies they have were really cute, they have board games and the pool. I loved the sound of the coqui at night and the sound of the rain on the zinc sealing :) the staff was really nice and humble! Im definetly coming back
I would loved that the dinner were included on the total price but everything else was really good! The road to get there is really rocky but not impossible
The silence, the view and the relaxation. It is very different from other hotels. It is in the middle of the jungle, so the expectation should be accordingly. Rafael is very friendly. One night is too short to get the atmosphere.
Staff was very friendly View and Hotel were both the nicest I found in Puerto Rico
Peace and remote location
Breath-taking views. Cozy functional rooms. Main bed was great but pullout bed a bit tired. Not luxurious but gorgeous. You will love it if you are outdoorsy and not expecting pampering.
Everything fürs very well. Wish, i could so it again
Friendly and helpful staff, awesome views, hiking trails, nice light breakfast, clean spacious rooms, nice friendly atmosphere, very relaxing
There is nothing i dislike about the property. The only thing-only stay there if you are driving! Taxi drivers dont really like to come up there and it is kind of remoted area, you cant really get around by foot.
1. View from the hotel is amazing. This hotel has more of a cottage feeling. 2. Extremely unique music created by insects and birds in the night 3. Friendly dogs 4. Can have a hike in the rain forest. Beautiful flora outside. 5. Host was good and cared about our needs. 6. Have a unique set of random books. Good to sit on the rocking chair in the night with a bottle of wine and read books.
May be our stay was on one of those bad days for the manager. 1. Hotel seemed like a one man show - No water supply in the morning. Had to take water from the swimming pool. 2. Breakfast is minimal. 3. Papa John's is the only delivery restaurant who delivers to this place. Takes about 45mins. There are no other restaurants within miles of this place. 4. Drive can be tough esp. in the night. Short stretch of dirt road. Front wheel drive cars will slip during uphill . Can be a dangerous drive during rain. 5. Follow the signs on the road. DON'T blindly follow the GPS. 6. No internet 7. Power outlets are outside the room in the common area. 8. Basic things like coffee maker, phone not available. Host doesn't stay in the facility. 9. You might find different insects and other small creatures everywhere since this is in the forest.
The environment friendly choices are a big plus. And the views.. whoa! Simple but beautifully furnished big room. Friendly staff and "guard" dogs. Easier to reach location than you would think of a rainforest hotel. Excellent tropical drinks in the bar.
Very peaceful area but the coquis and the dogs made a lot of noise in the night, earplugs were needed to sleep. The memory foam bed matress was good for the back, but synthetic bed materials made me sweat terribly. Very slow wi-fi.
This place is a gorgeous, eco-friendly, modern hotel abutting (or closer to in) the rain forest. It is a very special and beautiful place with a lot of fresh open air circulating through. There is a pool and trails to run on and a goreous view. One could sit and relax peacefully here for a couple days. Only a few rooms--it feels intimate. The place was run by the owners son who is very kind and laid back. This is not a conventional hotel so dont expect that experience but if you need anything, you will be taken care of. If you are travelling to Vieques or Culebra and need a place for a night or more in/ near Fajardo, this is great and special location.
We had a dog barking waking us up a lot one night which after a day of travel was not great but it only happened once and seemed like an anamoly. The staff was apologetic and made it up to us.
The view from the room
The access to hotel
As advertised, this remote, family-run place is 100% off the grid (rainwater & solar). The father greeted our arrival, and the son cooked us a lovely dinner. The well-placed hotel signs helped confirm we were heading in the right direction.
Difficult to get to; I can't imagine trying to do it in the dark! Make sure you've accurately programmed the map location into your GPS device, not the address. We preferred El Escondido Guesthouse for location and quality of gardens. Off-the-grid means limited hours for WiFi and no A/C.
Location hiking tails and sounds
Shower head neede updating. Very little hot water.
road to the place, distance from the city,no possibility to have decent breakfast or lunch , lack of warm water.
Road and breakfast. Too expensive for the offer...
Unfortunately there should be warning of dogs roaming freeling through the hotel.Even there dog bowls are by the continental breakfast area.Love animals as i own 2dogs but no not when im inside a hotel unless pets are welcomed.
The setting is wonderful, and so is the hotel architecture, ambience, and the owners.
The nature around is perfect for relaxing. The place is amazing The beds are cozy. For young couples this place is great.
The location was amazing and being in the rain forest is an experience you won't forget. The kind of people who stay at the hotel also are usually really interesting and friendly. They finally have their pool open and it looks nice.
This place was absolutely amazing in every way - what a neat experience! And don't worry about the bugs - the tree frogs eat them all! They owners were especially welcoming and friendly.
You definitely should think about renting a car if you are planning on staying here - it is quite the drive for a taxi. Also, make sure you refer to the location listed om the make of the booking.com website - it is very accurate. The address does not work like you think it will so you can forget about trying to plug that into google maps.
I love the quiteness of the place, with the accompainment of nature. The view from the mountain is perfect for watching the sunrise. The room is comfortable and spacious. I took the trail through the rainforest and it was beautiful. The service was good.
The Hotelito is in a beautiful location. The room was very nice, with stunning views out to the sea. It has a very personable staff, and the dinners were great. There were some nice places to walk around and some interesting birds, making it worth a short stay for birders. We also enjoyed the friendly dogs. We are very glad we stopped here for a brief stay. It is a great place to relax.
The drive up to the place was a bit nerve wracking, but I have been on much worse. It was a little difficult to find: Some better signage in a few spots would really help. Breakfast was definitely lacking.
This hotel is not for everyone. It has it's quirks, but it is beautiful. The owner has a great eye for designing both the interior spaces and in the landscape. It is not overly spiffy and not overly funky , but just right if you're an art lover and lover of a beautiful slower way.
What I really loved about this place was the amazing views and ambiance. You can sleep with all the windows open and enjoy nature's song.
It needed cleaning lots of spiderwebs, they have 3 dogs one of which had puppies, this could be a deal breaker for those who are not comfortable around pets. The drive up is treachous prepare for the rough terrain. The food was over price for the quality so you should come prepare with with food items or snacks as there are no place to nearby to get or order food. FYI I was drawn to pick this place because pics of pool and pool was not in service it was under repair.
