The hotel owner is nice in person, though horribly unresponsive via phone or email. I was double charged for my rooms, which I paid for upfront. It took almost two months to be reimbursed. After returning, I found there is another pending charge to my account (not yet cleared), though I should not have been charged anything additional. The hotel owner does not answer phone calls or respond to email, which means I'm afraid this new charge will also turn into a big dilemma to resolve.
This is the ideal spot in east Puerto Rico, right on the edge of the rainforest. It is a former cut-flower farm, so the flora is just outstanding. Amazingly, no mosquitos! Rafael, the owner, clearly has put years of work into the hotel and it caters towards a certain demographic who values nature over creature comforts. I would go back.
