Exceptional Customer Service.
The location is perfect. The group of people working in this place does an excellent job.
The elevator works very slowly.
Lovely, welcoming staff Complementary espresso bar Staying somewhere with history, rather than an anonymous modern room Quite reasonable price for what you get
Pack-n-play for my toddler had no rigid bottom (they need to buy a new one) Windows had no screens, which is dicey with the chikungunya risk Bathrooms designed to look good rather than function - no place to put all our toiletries!
The staff at La Terraza were extremely helpful and friendly! Every one of the front desk, service and managerial staff was cheerful and energetic and went "above and beyond" for us. The terrace on the roof is fabulous--great views of the city and a nice little infinity pool for cooling off after sunning.
The room cleaning and maid service at La Terraza needs improvement! The floor of our room needed better vacuuming and a mopping(Room 2). The shower needed a good cleaning. We found hair in the bathroom, even upon arrival. Toilet paper and face cloths were not restocked by maid.
Location, very attractive, love that it was a restored/renovated 200 yr old home x 2, bath was beautiful and shower nice for handicapped and shower "forest" water nozzle very nice--see other comments, tv cable great, snack area terrific, terrace was beautiful and a wonderful asset--see comments about what didn't like. Happy to see smoke alarms. The GM was very accessible and approachable and so very customer-oriented-see staff comments. Will definitely come back and recommend to others--already have.
We received inconsistent inform from staff on several items, the gated doors made it difficult to pass through, the terrace had challenges for someone with walking issues, not enough staffing on terrace for breakfast, not enough chairs and tables on terrace for breakfast--we watched folks leave because table wasn't cleared for others or no table at all with chairs in shade, gated door at front didn't open all the way--made it difficult to get through, shower needs non-skid covering, shower needs handles on walls,
The place, the staff, especially Patricia and Princesa, the tiny rooftop pool and bar.
The staff was generous and helpful. Coffee and breakfast was great. It's a quiet hotel. I left my luggage in the lobby because I had a 5 hr. wait for my flight to leave and everything was fine. I hope to stay there again.
Helpful and sincere staff. Roof terrace and sunken pool with city view, option to have late breakfast served on the roof terrace. The best mattress of any hotel bed I have slept in, ever. The bed is the star of the show as far as hotel beds go. Hotel is centrally located near the old Fort in San Juan, 2 minutes at end of the street. Elegant yet simple decor, excellent attention to detail throughout the room and hotel in general.
The street was some very noisy on Saturday night after midnight, be prepared for motorbikes and partying. It could have been a "one off", there was a wedding that weekend in a Church opposite the hotel. Shower: Could do with some extra hooks for towels in the shower and a hand rail, (a minor point), please don't put the towel rail in the toilet!).
Staff is excellent: knowledgeable, friendly, eager to help, attractive. :) The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of Old San Juan - close to the forts, museums, parks, etc. Free breakfast - nothing great but good enough. Free coffee & snack. Reasonable rates.
The hotel is a restored building. I think the owner did a fabulous job restoring it. However, some aspects of the building can't be helped: hot water wasn't available in our room on a particular day. We had to move to another bigger room - a free upgrade. Elevator is super slow. No windows in some units. If this is important to you, ask for room with windows in advance. I feel for the staff. They are trying their best to make things work. Sometimes that's all you can ask for. Would I stay at this hotel again? YES I would.
The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very welcoming.
There was hair in the shower when we first arrived. The water in the shower was warm, not hot - the water would get hot toward the very end of the shower. The pillow cases were rough fabric and the bed was very soft.
I was blown away by the staff. Excellent. I would stay there again.
Location, Staff, Free Breakfast, Rooftop area
Limited hot water for showering
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Old San Juan. The rooms are open, clean & elegant. The staff is warm & friendly. We loved our stay La Terraza & hope to return.
The room was incredibly spacious and beautiful.
The breakfast was minimal.
Awesome rooftop terrace looking over old San Juan. Comp. breakfast was amazing and the staff go out of their way to do anything for you! Location was right in the heart of old San Juan. So much character, free coffee and pastries were amazing. It was the best boutique hotel I ever stayed at!!!!!! Tabathia is an Angel sent from the Hotel Gods!!!
Nothing, it was amazingly awesome!!! My girlfriend thought it was a little too expensive; but she didn't pay for the trip, so forget I said anything! Elevator wasn't working but it's probably already fixed by the time, you read this! Love the place, Love PR, Stay at La Terraza!!!
Great location(as old San Juan is pretty small) Everybody was nice and helpful. We had some trouble with booking and Franklin did great job on solving that. Great view on roof and the bar is fully equipped! I ll definately live again
Nothing bad. There were several things are under construction, if you go there after April 2014 it will be perfect!!
Old facility, bathroom not clean, no windows, no wifi in room, no iron in room (had to request one).
I love the staff. We were greeted with fabulous coffee. The room was very authentic PR. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were beautiful. The location was superb. Right in the heart of everything and a 5 minute walk from downtown Old San Juan. My most favorite part of the hotel was the breakfast. Absolutely delicious...not at all what I expected. Great coffee and tea, warm bread and home made mini glazed donuts, fresh fruit bowls and turkey slices. Topped off with wonderful OJ.
Everything was perfect. No complaints.
