view from balcony was awesome.
Floors were dirty. Mattress sank in the middle. Could hear sound of birds chirping all night long.
Villas are perfect for a young family. Loved the infinity pool and access to Palomino Island. Grounds were well-kept and beautiful.
Food was very poor. Ordered room service one night and got dishes without all the advertised ingredients and wilted salad. Most of the food available in the restaurants was pretty average to below average. Furniture in the villa was old and used. Our phone stopped working our last few days there.
I enjoyed the infinity pool a lot. This place would be nothing without it. The view is breathtaking and there is a little jacuzzi pool too.
Cleaning: you get a jacuzzi tub in your room but won't want to use it because it is so dirty. Wish they didn't have it at all so that at least I could use the tub. Service: I enjoyed the pool more after I checked out. Before doing so, I asked their staff if I could get a hospitality room to quickly shower, which hotels usually offer. They said yes, that I will get a room but when I came back from the pool I was led to a bathroom (like a public restroom with 3 stalls). There was a shower in the corner with no amenities or hot water. Not good.
Island was fun. Not much of a menu. Lots of flies and birds which made that restaurant unappealing. Boats were allowed to dock too close to where we were swimming with lots of dumping. Beds were very comfortable. We all had a lot of bites on our legs. Suspect bed bug infestation in our room.
Staff at Thanksgiving buffet told us to arrive at 8pm with no reservation and when we got there was told they could not take us. Some of the women hostesses were very rude toward quests. Starbucks help was unfriendly and made me sign two receipts which was a little suspect. overcharged. Chinese restaurant was not good and overpriced. Water in hotel dripped. Poor shower, flooded floors, sinks dribbled water and the room was small without a view. Was told we would have beach view and a suite. Tiny room instead
The resort was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful. So relaxing and so many activities as well.
The food was a little pricy and our meal at the stingray cafe was mediocre with very slow service. The resort needed a better map to help navigate all of the choices of activities.
Stunning views and comfort
Ants in the bathroom
Loved going to palomino island.
Food prices were to expensive. No night life everything closed to early. Would prefer to pay cash at palomino island for food and drinks.
The views. The pools, hot tub and private island were great.
No microwave. Electrical switches inoperable. No Casino @ Main Hotel.
My waitress Joana at breakfast Restaurant in Las Casitas. She delivers an excelent service.
Water park shouldn't be an additional charge for hotel guests. At least offer a one day pass included.
The pristine, beautiful grounds, views, numerous activities for all ages, concern and friendliness of the staff. The food at the restaurants was quite good; a bit pricey but not exorbitant. This is an exceptional facility.
This is not a complaint but because the resort is located on a steep hillside anyone who has an issue climbing stairs may have difficulty despite the availability of the shuttles.
Palomino Island was great -- it's very clean. We saw a fire burning on the island the night we arrived -- my best guess is they burned the garbage other reviewers mentioned. Palomino Island was about a 15 minute (free) boat ride away from the resort. Palominito Island is just a kayak-ride away from Palomino Island and it's next to a reef. The infinity pool and general premises of Las Casitas are cut off from the El Conquistador, which we greatly appreciated. You have access to everything in El Conquistador and you get seclusion from the large number of families and business there. We went scuba diving (our first time!) with Casa del Mar, and we had a blast. The crew was great, and we had a bunch of fun. We had an upgraded room with views of el Yunque and the ocean, and it was really amazing.
The restaurants weren't great. The steak house was overpriced for its quality; the Chinese & Japanese restaurant was mediocre. There were long waits for the pool table downstairs; instead, go upstairs, get a drink at the bar, and play some pool! The night life at the hotel is geared more toward families than it is for romantic getaways.
Great service. Scenic location.
A bit on the expensive side.
We really enjoyed the private Palomino island where you can find a beautiful beach, lounge chairs, umbrellas, 2 souvenir shops, restaurant, bar and wait staff to get your order from your lounge chair. As it is private, we did not worry to much over our belongings and there was nobody bugging us to try to buy stuff. The entire resort is beautiful and has several pools, including an infiniti pool. You can also find 2 convenient stores that allow you to buy pretty much anything you need, including alcohol and food The free gym is quite decent. We did not try the paid gym. The outdoor restaurants are quite nice and food is really good. Prices are not too bad. We had a 2 bedroom suite with ocean view. The housekeeping was outstanding. The concierges were very professional and always happy to provide all the help possible to make our stay something to remember. We will definitely go back to this resort and also try other Waldorf Astoria resorts.
All the nice restaurants are quite expensive. It's hard to justify so much money on one restaurant thus limiting us to the same restaurants.
