The room we had the second night was much improved. If all of their rooms were like the second one, this place would be much better.
When we arrived, the hotel clerk told me that although I had booked and paid for a room, they had none available. I was understandably upset about that. He told me he would find something...The room we stayed in the first night was absolutely terrible. It was badly in need of updates. I felt like I was sleeping in a dilapidated tenement. We ordered food at the bar - the ceviche was great. The mussels we ordered were inedible, I think they were bad - we sent them back (we almost never send good back) - and the bartender was visibly not happy about that.
Central location, easy to walk anywhere
Difficulties with consistent wifi
- Walking distance from the port. - Staff always helps you with any inconvenience. - Many facilities in the room (tv, AC, frigo, etc) - Great bar and restaurant.
- If you reserve it by internet (Booking.com) it seems that it is more expensive (30% more) than if you call to the hotel to reserve. - No breakfast
Good location, nice restaurant and bar
Lack of proper maintenance: missing light bulbs, broken shower, unfinished construction in the top floor. old towels. Nice motel room but overpriced rates
nicely laid out room, freindly staff ( when we could find one )
we didn't know it was still low season so i can understand why the restaurant was closed but we were disappointed that not even the bar was open.
Everything was ok!
The restaurant was closed!
Closeness to the port
Booking.com shows that this place is ten minutes walking distance from Flamenco Beach; but this is absolutely not true. As a member of the staff told me, you definitely need to take a taxi or other transportation to get to the beach. Booking.com shows four stars for this place - unbelievable! I would not give it four fireflies. The furniture was very basic and very old, with practically all the drawers to the dresser crooked and difficult to open. There were only two towels in the bathroom that were very small and very old. The mat in the bathroom, in front of the shower, was also all ragged. We were greeted by bugs, that appeared to be small roaches, in the room assigned to us; and later joined by bugs in the room we were moved to when we complained. There were also mosquitoes in the room, but there is one less now, because we left a big one spattered in blood on one of the bedroom walls. The 'hotel' was closed and appeared to have no one staying there when we arrived. The person who came over to let us get in when we called, was so unfriendly that we felt as if he was doing us a favor by us staying there. The restaurant was never opened during our stay. What can I say? This was probably the ugliest and most unpleasant hotel I've ever stayed in; and feel very disappointed by the description offered by Booking.com, which we feel was very misleading.
