If you want to pay $500 a night for a marble lobby, luxury name, and extra costs for every amenity, by all means book somewhere else. But if you are looking for a quaint setting in a safe, gated community right on the beach, super clean room, attentive staff, and fantastic dining - book here! Lounge chairs and umbrellas are put up at your command and are included in your stay. Drinks can be bought and presented you as you relax on the beach. Rooms are simple, but quaint and very clean complete with a safe, fridge, tv, and wifi. Pamela's has a fantastic varied menu and delicious food that you can enjoy right on the beach as your toes wiggle in the sand. Above all the staff is extremely cheerful and helpful, offering insider tips for wherever your travels take you. There is a distinct feel that one is getting all the amenities of a luxury resort (minus the over-priced pretensions), with the warmth and hospitality of the real Puerto Rico. Thank you, Numero Uno, for a one of a kind experience!

Awesome service in particular, Alberto and the beach waiter! It's the perfect location too. :)

Our room was not ready when we arrived. We used there changing room and hit the beach. They served us drinks and did not charge us for them. There was an abandoned building next door that is begging to be re modeled. Overall great stay.
Our room was next to the pool which was just perfect for a quick dip day or night. The Restaurant served a gourmet meal on the beach. The food was great, try the fried snapper, it was to die for. The service was just right. You can't go wrong with the neighborhood either. The whole 100 or so blocks were blocked off to outside traffic so security was good. Parking was on the street first come first serve and was easy to find a spot close by. Great stay.

Location was superb, staff incredible. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful and ensure we had a great experience. Pamela's Restaurant on site was terrific, and there were other very good places to eat within walking distance.

Room was quite dark and not that clean. Internet was great in the lobby and on the beach (go figure!) but did not work in our corner bedroom. Twice we were without water (once with warning, but second time without any notice).
Location, location, location. If you are looking for super easy access a really lovely beach, someone to set up your umbrella/chair and drink/food service, this is your place. The staff is very kind and helpful.

At first the room and bathroom seemed small but in the end it was so comfortable and the bed was great. We were on the first floor.. `0 steps from the beach... We could hear some kitchen noise at night but the AC took over and we went off to sleep.
As we got to know the staff with each day we found them more and more charming and fun. The place is accurately described in other reviews, but maybe not enough raves about being able to sit on the upstairs porch and watch the beach night and day. We had a very relaxing time.

Wifi was very slow, but at least it exsisted.

The setting was lovely and we wished we could have stayed longer. We were there for just one night before a cruise but it is a beautiful setting. Nice staff. Good selection for the continental breakfast.

We stayed in the one bedroom apartment across the street from the main guesthouse and loved it. The room was very modern and clean. The bed was AMAZING - something I can rarely say when I'm on vacation. All in all, our stay was truly wonderful. The staff were very accommodating and laid-back, the food at the restaurant (Pamela's) was delicious, and the beach was literally only footsteps away. They also provide you with chairs, towels, and an umbrella on the beach for free. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation in San Juan, this is definitely the spot.

1. Checked out early and promised a refund to my credit card...no credit was received! 2. Breakfast...usually out of some item. 3. Odor emanating from dining area bathroom. 4. Felt unsafe staying there.
Room was very clean.

Wifi was slow in our room, but once I got out it was fine.
Great location. Very nice staff. The restaurant is also excellent! There's a famous bakery within 5 min walk from the hotel so I didn't try their breakfast.

Continental breakfasts are not my favorite. I'd prefer something more substantial.
We loved this small boutique hotel. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The beach is beautiful. Other reviews have mentioned the small pool and that the water was not clear...well the pool is painted black and the water is very clean! I wish we could have stayed longer.

The handicap accessible room was unexpected. It had a window right onto the public thruway to the ice and housekeeping. Unclear about how restaurant charges and hotel charges were managed.
Location right on a beautiful and swimmable beach. Smaller boutique hotel with a non touristy feel. Meals served on the beach or in the restaurant. Very accommodating service. opened our wine and brought us cups on the beach. Chairs, umbrellas and tables were included in the room price. Service on the beach was luxurious and dining on the beach a treat. Location within walking distance to shops and restaurants and a short cab ride to the airport. Let us stay on property at beach after check out and before our flight out. How nice!

On the beach. What a beautiful view.
December 11, 2014
The room decor lacks elegance. Simple amenities such as a box of tissues, a bathroom floor mat, toiletry other than shampoo, air dryer, and an iron are not provided. While the restaurant has great food, the menu is limited and does not change.
We loved the location and the beach amenities. We loved that the restaurant served lunch and dinner on tables set on the beach. We loved the food and the wait staff was excellent. The view from the room was excellent.

Guest house very hard to find on dead end and one way streets. Room located next to kitchen.
On the beach. Second story deck overlooks ocean. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Reservation and billing were a bit confused. They accommodated the booking error, but getting the final bill was a challenge...the amount is correct but the names and charges are still not right.
Pamela's was a lovely restaurant, but the staff was outstanding! Excellent service, wonderful room, beautiful beach. Overall, this was a place I would return to again when I'm in San Juan.
November 17, 2014
Residential area and a bit far from the main Condado area. The restaurant in the Hotel was overpriced. The wifi was not good, only worked intermittently and was very slow. Pool was more of a water feature than a functioning pool but it didn't really matter as the beach was right there.
Beachfront location was lovely. Free car parking on the street outside was good. Staff were nice and helpful. Room was spacious. Overall a good experience

The continental breakfast is adequate but very basic.
Numero Uno is located steps from a really nice swimming beach. It was great to have your own beach chairs and umbrella. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Hotel is within walking distance of a Walgreens and MacDonalds.

Nothing I can think of. We didn't have the breakfast though and went to a little diner like place (filled with locals) called Kasalta only a few blocks away.
Loved this place. The staff was amazing. The rooms was nice, nothing fancy but all you needed. The place is right on the beach. They also provide you with lounges, umbrellas and beach towels. We ordered drinks on the beach and just enjoyed a great time relaxing. Pamela's the restaurant is great, not cheap but worth it. We barely even left the place while we were there and enjoyed spending a great time relaxing before leaving the island. We will definitely be back!

It was very difficult to find, and there was no parking which they advertised. That was one of the main reasons we decided to stay there because we rented a car and new it would not be easy to find parking.
The staff was very helpful, accommodating, and nice! The hotel is right on the beach, just steps away from your room, and there is a restaurant/bar. They also have cabana service, so u don't even have to leave the beach!!

Wow! This place was wonderful. My boyfriend and I booked at the very last minute (literally like 6 hours before we arrived) and the price was excellent. Our room was nice and comfortable. Next time we (and we will go again) we will be sure to book a room with a better view. But again, we booked last minute and what we got for the price we payed was nothing to complain about. The staff are all so pleasant, especially the bar tender, Jose! And did I mention bar service on the beach?! So nice. You are literally steps from the beautiful beach when you walk out of your room. Also having lounge chairs and a little table is awesome. The pool is very small but cute and let's be honest, you're there for the beautiful beach any way so that was not an issue at all. The breakfast was a little less than desirable. Basically bagels and cereal. But there are great places to eat within walking distance to the hotel. Overall we had a terrific stay at Numero Uno and we can't wait to go back!!
