We loved the location and the beach amenities. We loved that the restaurant served lunch and dinner on tables set on the beach. We loved the food and the wait staff was excellent. The view from the room was excellent.
The room decor lacks elegance. Simple amenities such as a box of tissues, a bathroom floor mat, toiletry other than shampoo, air dryer, and an iron are not provided. While the restaurant has great food, the menu is limited and does not change.
On the beach. Second story deck overlooks ocean. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Guest house very hard to find on dead end and one way streets. Room located next to kitchen.
Pamela's was a lovely restaurant, but the staff was outstanding! Excellent service, wonderful room, beautiful beach. Overall, this was a place I would return to again when I'm in San Juan.
Reservation and billing were a bit confused. They accommodated the booking error, but getting the final bill was a challenge...the amount is correct but the names and charges are still not right.
Beachfront location was lovely. Free car parking on the street outside was good. Staff were nice and helpful. Room was spacious. Overall a good experience
Residential area and a bit far from the main Condado area. The restaurant in the Hotel was overpriced. The wifi was not good, only worked intermittently and was very slow. Pool was more of a water feature than a functioning pool but it didn't really matter as the beach was right there.
Numero Uno is located steps from a really nice swimming beach. It was great to have your own beach chairs and umbrella. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Hotel is within walking distance of a Walgreens and MacDonalds.
The continental breakfast is adequate but very basic.
Loved this place. The staff was amazing. The rooms was nice, nothing fancy but all you needed. The place is right on the beach. They also provide you with lounges, umbrellas and beach towels. We ordered drinks on the beach and just enjoyed a great time relaxing. Pamela's the restaurant is great, not cheap but worth it. We barely even left the place while we were there and enjoyed spending a great time relaxing before leaving the island. We will definitely be back!
Nothing I can think of. We didn't have the breakfast though and went to a little diner like place (filled with locals) called Kasalta only a few blocks away.
The staff was very helpful, accommodating, and nice! The hotel is right on the beach, just steps away from your room, and there is a restaurant/bar. They also have cabana service, so u don't even have to leave the beach!!
It was very difficult to find, and there was no parking which they advertised. That was one of the main reasons we decided to stay there because we rented a car and new it would not be easy to find parking.
Wow! This place was wonderful. My boyfriend and I booked at the very last minute (literally like 6 hours before we arrived) and the price was excellent. Our room was nice and comfortable. Next time we (and we will go again) we will be sure to book a room with a better view. But again, we booked last minute and what we got for the price we payed was nothing to complain about. The staff are all so pleasant, especially the bar tender, Jose! And did I mention bar service on the beach?! So nice. You are literally steps from the beautiful beach when you walk out of your room. Also having lounge chairs and a little table is awesome. The pool is very small but cute and let's be honest, you're there for the beautiful beach any way so that was not an issue at all. The breakfast was a little less than desirable. Basically bagels and cereal. But there are great places to eat within walking distance to the hotel. Overall we had a terrific stay at Numero Uno and we can't wait to go back!!
Nice beach hotel in a great location in Ocean Park. Wake up and you're at the beach--cant ask for more than that! The staff was very nice, especially Alberto. Free cabana (umbrella and chairs) are set up on the beach for free for hotel guests. We will be back for sure.
Everything was Great, coming back sooner than later. Staff was great especially ask for the Service of David he won't let u down.
Wifi was a little weak, inside the room but it didn't bother since most of the time I was outside on the beach. No big deal.
Pamelas food is excellent when the chief chef is on. Jose is head waiter and great. David takes care of the beach and good hustler.
Friendly people good location
Location. View from common areas was great.
Parking had to be on the street and was not close to the guest house. Breakfast was awful, very limited selection, and there was fungus in the cream cheese container when we opened it! Room was not very comfortable and reeked of bleach, bed was hard and squeaky.
Great boutique hotel in a local neighborhood. Outside of the busy touristy area in a great location. The staff was absolutely amazing, especially Rudy. It is set right on Ocean Park Beach, which is stunning. Wake up and you're at the beach--cant ask for more than that! We will be back and stay here again. Thanks for an amazing week of sun, beach, and local cuisine!
I liked pretty much everything about the hotel. The location was incredible... you were literally steps away from the most perfect beach. Our room was spacious and comfortable; for the price we paid, it was incredible value. I can't recommend Numero Uno and Puerto Rico enough. You won't regret a stay here!
The water was temperamental - sometimes it wouldn't work. However, it rarely failed to work when we desperately needed it. The restaurant is quite pricey - 4 drinks came to almost $50!!
The small size of the place - very quaint. Pamela's Restaurant - expensive but excellent. View of the beach. Beach table service available. Breakfast included. Registration was initially confused and required a manager but they invited us for a complimentary drink while we waited for resolution. Little sand crabs and salamanders in the landscape. Location is within a 20-minute walk of the art museum. Free use and set up of umbrella and chairs by beach valet.
Pool was too small and dirty to use, which we might have. However, the beach at our doorstep beckoned, so no big matter. Not many attractions close by to walk to other than the museum. Requires a cab ride or bike to Old San Juan.
The beach was OK not great not very clean and nothing exceptional The wi fi was all right The bed was good Bathroom and towels were Good Overall value for the price paid was fair I guess
The breakfast was horrible Some of the fixtures in the hotel and room outdated The restaurant was unnecessarily expensive The constant wind on the beach The lack of cleanliness of the beach
location and people
Location was great. Beach front property.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at Numero 1 again. You can't beat the location, and staffers Jose and David were terrific. Whenever we needed anything, they were quick to help. The restaurant food was also good, which doesn't always happen; they made some great meals out of their fantastic shrimp!
Housekeeping did a good job once they showed up, but twice in 5 days they didn't come in a timely fashion. We had to call a few times to make our room up, both times after 2pm. Wasn't in love with their pina colada's, but that should be an easy fix.
Everything awesome place!!!
Location; right on the beach. Excellent value for San Juan. Can actually dine on the beach.
We had a room facing the back of property and another building. However being right on the beach makes up for many things.
Guest house right on the beach with no high rise hotels near by. Quiet and safe area of a night with cafes close by. Great staff, very helpful. Loved being asked to pick a spot on the beach and have David bring my lounge chair, table and an umbrella. Super service and only too happy to provide it.
Had to plug in for internet in my room.
This little hotel is a GEM. In the midst of all the huge hotels in the San Juan area, this hotel is small, quaint, very comfortable and private. Their area of beach is private, the neighborhood is well maintained and the locals are polite and offered directions, ideas on area restaurants and other helpful hints.
Numero Uno is not on the Caribbean, it is on the Atlantic Ocean side of P.R. We expected quiet, lulling waves, but were disappointed to have to work the waves. The rip tide was very strong, so BE CAREFUL! While it was very nice, it would've nice to know ahead of time. "Pamela's" restaurant, on site, is very good, but pricey. Average $105 for dinner for 2 with a beer and one cocktail. Otherwise, PERFECT.
The staff was very nice. At times hard to get someone at the front desk but overall. Great place to stay. The beach is fabolous and you really get to mix with locals since it's in a suburb.
