My room have a balcony and there are so many kitties out their. They are so cute!!! The bed is super comfortable and i have an excellent sleep. the location is good. You need to take 5 minutes walk to the center of old san juan but it is really quite in my room. the smell of hotel is excellent.
tiny bedroom - couldnt get the suitcase in shower didnt work - tap broken promised us a rebate - never got it
Amazing rooms, beautiful decor, the most comfortable beds ever, great location. A very charming hotel. Loved the whole experience!
Breakfast was very basic
Beautiful building with courtyard, beautiful guest rooms.
Breakfast was just OK.
I am a very experienced world traveler and have put this hotel at the top of my list. The staff was amazing! I arrived at 2:00am well after their posted 10:00pm close. I called to confirm they would let us in. Not only did they do that but provided a walk thru tour and thought of things I had not. The ambiance was amazing. The rooftop a perfect way to relax. And the pillows are to die for!!!
Nothing we even liked all of the neighborhood cats
This swanky little 8 room boutique hotel was a little hard to find but perfectly located in the heart of old san Juan. It is breathtaking from the moment you walk thru the doors. The staff is so friendly. A simple breakfast is included, bar in main gathering room, roof top patio. We can't wait to go Back.
Loved the old building, roof top terrace is where we spent most of our time.
King bed was to large for the room. Mattress was old, we kept rolling to the middle of the bed.
The building is charming and is quite beautiful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
The bathroom was awkward. Ladies will find it difficult to put on makeup. The lighting is bad and the mirror was awkward. We had to ask for assistance to turn the very old TV on. It was difficult to find a channel with decent programming. The were few channels available.
All of it ,loved the decor loved the area of old San Juan and Herencia location The charm of this beautiful old building and it's furnishings
Charming little hotel in Old San Juan. Very nice rooms and friendly staff who gave great advices about cocktail bars and restaurants.
We missed some cheese, ham and eggs for breakfast. They only had fresh fruit salad, toast and jam. For us, a bit too less for a long day of sightseeing. ............................................................................................ There are a lot of cats in San Juan and there are even some of them in the hotel. They wailed and fought at night.
We only had one night stay post-cruise and left wishing we had more time here. We loved the character and charm of this lovely hotel - the room and bed was very comfortable and the atmosphere absolutely fantastic. The staff were also extremely pleasant and helpful, offering some great sight-seeing and restaurant suggestions (we were very happy we followed a number of their recommendations!). We prefer to stay away from the more "mainstream" hotels and were very happy with our choice. We would highly recommend it to anyone planning to stay in the Old San Juan area.
The fact that we only had one night's stay ... next time we will plan on staying a few nights!
Staff was very helpful. It was great to meet and chat with other guests at our unexpected continental breakfast which was a pleasant surprise and very good. The warm fruit danishes were excellent. The charm and character of the place that large hotel chains don't have.
We liked everything about this property. It has so much character and charm. The staff was wonderful :) It was located next to all shopping and restaurants. I woud stay here again!
Charming facility. The woman at the front desk was OUTSTANDING!
The location is perfect. Old San Juan is a great area to walk around and enjoy and the hotel is close to everything. We stayed in H9 which is a lovely two bedroom suite on the second floor and it was outstanding. Federico helped us with our luggage which was great. It is a unique property, a hidden jewel with a beautiful rooftop patio. The restaurant at the El Convento next door is very good and so convenient.
Wonderful decor, setting, and location
The air conditioning turned off in the middle of the night. Given that the rooms do not have windows, this made them extremely uncomfortable.
great location in old san juan. very nice rooms in what was an old convent, ours had a king size bed which was great. it is very convenient to all the sites and restaurants/bars
leaving. we did not have a car to deal with but if you do, parking will be a nightmare.
Ambiance. charm, location
No window in room, weak water pressure.
We loved the old world charm and elegance of the hotel. The location was perfect for walking around old San Juan yet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The square up the street was filled with trees and benches and in the opposite direction, the ocean. So relaxing. The staff were very friendly, nice and accommodating.
Can't think of anything we didn't like.
Villa Herencia was incredible! We didn't want to leave. The young staff had great recommendations for restaurants, bars, shops and scenic walks, the continental breakfast (included in your stay) was great and the hotel felt unique, comfortable and safe.
We selected this hotel based on it having historical old world charm. We had one night in San Juan and really wanted to stay in the heart of the city and among where the local people live. We were not looking for a big/chain hotel. This hotel is very quaint and has awesome character. The moment you walk in you’re stepping back in time. This is a very small property—with a total of 8 rooms so you will not find the amenities of larger boutique hotels. The staff is very helpful—if you need anything after the front closes for the evening they provide you with a key to enter the hotel and a contact number at their sister property. You can walk to everything important to see in old San Juan. There are two levels and the rooms are open to an open air court yard—so if it’s raining—you will get a little wet going to your room. We had an upper level room which shared the open courtyard space and had plenty of seating space. The room and bathroom size is small but adequate for our short stay. Our room included a side sitting room that was clean—the furniture is bit stained but all was clean. This hotel is located on the same street as the El Conquistador hotel but the entrance is very unassuming because it looks like the entrance to a residential house. We had a car and while street parking is very difficult to find—the hotel has a discounted rate with the valet parking of the El Conquistador. Expect to pay $22 per night.
Cons: Maneuvering the stairs with luggage
Historical boutique hotel; recently renovated - beautiful. Exciting rooftop deck with claw foot tubs for the guests. Nice breakfast room with substantial offerings.
A quaint hotel in the old city.
Nice helpful staff, great location. I would certainly recommend to friends or family.
A little shy with towels, etc. Floors could have been cleaner but weren't too bad, just kind of gritty. We missed having bedside stand or table for glasses, watches, etc.
We loved this beautiful little boutique hotel. Was so quaint and the staff were extremely helpful. Perfect location
