Incredible place. Beautiful and rich with character

Not a thing

We loved the funkiness of it all. The room was comfortable and the pool amazing. We liked the many intimate places a person could go to sit or drink coffee/wine etc.

The stairs are a challenge for some. The front girl employed only one month , I believe, was not helpful. She did not know the area...and seemed a bit aloof at every conversation. NOT the type of person I would expect from Gallery. One evening man was amazing...I think he was John? Joe? The room/Stevies NEED MORE LIGHT. Invest in some brighter bulbs.

Quiet, peaceful and relaxed. Nice eating patio and good continental breakfast.

Ambiance and quirky decor. Perfect location I Old Town.

Parking is haphazard (but at least they offer it). My handicapped wife had onsiderable difficulty with the multitudes of stairs and uneven floors.

This hotel is amazing...it is like staying in an art museum. Plus you also have the chance to go to the boathouse everyday for happy hour, watch the local surfers, and see the owner of the hotel create her latest piece of artwork! Truly an experience that can't be matched at any other hotel I have ever stayed at!

Nothing...it was a great place to stay!

We could view from our balcony the forts of Old San Juan and the ocean surf. Evening strollers would pass below as well. The art, the little nooks, the garden terraces and pool were all quite unique and nice.

The bedroom was comfortable, but we had to go out into a corridor to reach our tiny bathroom. The cost seemed high. But the place was unique, like a piece of art.

The central location in the heart of Old San Juan, couldn't have been better. The staff were very warm and hospitable. The decor was homey, interesting, and a wonderful departure from the sterile cookie-cutter chains. The breakfast was good, and taking everything into account, I'm glad we stayed here.

The room had no windows and was a bit musty. It was tiny (and we stay in a lot of Manhattan super-tiny hotels), and the walk up a dozen steps to the bathroom was not fun.

Location. Character (Spanish tiles, parrots, art work, eclectic layout). The breakfast and the garden area where they served it.

There are dingy rooms in this Inn, and they put us in one despite the fact that our reservation clearly said that we had reserved a "spacious double room with a balcony overlooking the garden." The manager blamed Booking.com for the error, and said she couldn't correct the problem. They still owe us a refund.

Some rooms are difficult to access for the more mature

In all of my travels, I have never found a more unusall and wonderful hotel. great place to relax, and enjoy Old San Juan. The staff and owners were wonderful and very helpful. The trolly to get around Old San Juan stopped almost in front which made it easy for us older folks to get around. We were not disapointed from our friends recommendadtions

Really nothing to report. You must remember, it is a piece of true Old San Jaun, not a chrome palace that 20 stories high.

This hotel was a treat! We usually stay at El Convento (about 6 blocks away, maybe) but they were booked. We wanted something else that seemed authentic and was in OSJ and we definitely found it! It is *NOT* a slick, up-to-code place that seems like any other Hyatt/Hilton/Marriott/Whatever. You definitely feel like you're in a quirky wonderful distant-relative's house. In fact it barely feels like a hotel at all. The people are so nice, there are huge birds everywhere, the place is set up like a labyrinth with hidden nifty treats for all senses: art, animals, flowers, reading nooks, grottoes; the have-at-it breakfast is super casual. Really great. Our room came complete with its own tiny courtyard and a huge terrace with sunset views plus direct access to a rooftop deck with everything views. We could see all of Old San Juan from the castles to the cruise ships. The moonrise was amazing. An unexpected treat was Jan, the owner. She's lovely and engaging and such a part of the place. Our only regret was that we didn't find the time to go with her to the beach house. Next time- we can't wait to go back. Sorry, Convento!

Difficult to find, impossible to get decent parking and our room required a journey up a lot of stairs.

Loved the very eclectic mix of art, parrots, architecture, and flora. Our room, 'Ocean', was very spacious and at the top of the building with great views of the ocean. Very convenient to everything in Old San Juan and within walking distance of the forts, which were very interesting. A memorable stay!!!

For more discerning clients, I would recommend they try to remove some of the floor streaks or use polish...a little dusty in some corners.

We especially liked the unusual, eclectic decor. The staff was absolutely excellent - Paulette answered our many questions. We really appreciated her helpfulness. The location was superb to visit Viejo San Juan.

Atmosphere, staff was very friendly. Loved the uniqueness and historical character and location. Breakfasts and patio dining was wonderful. We loved it!!!!

The steps and uneven surfaces were a little difficult to manage but they were a part of the character which we loved.

Very Quirky, excellent for Art Lovers or to stay somewhere different. Would stay there again.

May be location only ... For really romantic persons it potentially could be pleasure to see a lot of small "art objects" on walls like old photos, broken toys, broken mirrors and so on. For me it TOO much,

This is REALLY old building(s) ! No elevators at all. Only 2-3 rooms can be classified as "good" or "normal", but most of rooms have no windows, very small, it is hard or even to impossible to have some fresh air in the room. No doors! only "zhaluzi " - so, very noisy when you neighbors start to discuss something... Even "old fashioned style" can not change the fact that building need global restoration and fresh sanitary equipment...

BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC INN!! After travelling around the world, The Gallery Inn is HANDS DOWN the best place I've stayed. A very authentic, historic, unique place to stay. The staff is incredibly helpful, kind and always smiling. Made us feel very welcome. The food is FANTASTIC.

A lot of stairs that may not be suitable for everyone.

Love the location, atmosphere, many public spaces, birds, artwork, chatting with the owner and staff.

We like this beautiful hotel with a great number of greenery. There were several parrots sitting at the lobby. The style of the hotel resembles a castle with sculptures, paintings and that kind of furniture. They have an unusual swimming pool with arch which is not large but nice! There is a area of vision on the roof and we enjoyed a night view of city. Our room was excellent and had an ocean view. Our bed was king sized and looked like from Medieval style! Lovely place!

Late check in. We spent several hours at the lobby and waited for our room.
