The owners are a supernice and friendly couple. They answer all your questions and give you an inside view of the situation in the Westbank. Try the tasty mint tea of the Lady of the house!
Staff is friendly, facilities are clean
Booking system was not well-managed; what was supposed to be a 4-bed dorm became a 10-bed dorm. Staff also did not appear prepared for my presence.
Excellent atmpsphere. Nice people and quite close to the city centre. They prepare v.good tea with mint leafes. Low cost accomodation.
The owners of the hostel are very nice and extremely helpful. They will really make you feel at home. The hostel is probably the cleanest I've ever been to. Also spacious rooms.
There was no hot water in the shower. There's a curfew, which is inconvenient if you want to stay out late.
the constant presence of hosts
The staff is wonderful! The place is cheap and well located. Clean. The owner has many stories to tell.
There are two big dorms (and some rooms, but I do not remember how many and if they have their own bathroom). I spent there 4 nights with a friend of mine. We were alone in the dorm so it was perfect. However, I guess that when the dorms are full (males: 12 beds, females: around 10) could be a problem for the bathroom (2 bathrooms, 1 shower).
The hosts are a nice christian family, very hospitable and helpful. The place is in a really good location- a quiet quarter 10 minutes walk from the Church and the main square. Good value for your money
Inadequate hot water Inadequate heat No breakfast(but I knew that)
The location is ok.
I do not recommend stay there during the winter. I stayed there in December and there was no hot water for shower and the place was freezing as they supply gas heater, which is very dangerous and doesn't heat properly.
Anton (the owner along with his wife), spoke very good English and upon arrival say me down to have a cup of tea and talk with him and his wife, they are incredibly kind and interesting, and willing to talk about anything or accommodate any special requests, I'd highly recommend the house of peace to anyone looking to stay in Bethlehem!
nice location, nice owners
freezing cold, the heater did not really work, worn-down place
very friendly, warm, and helpful house owners who invite you into their home and trust you to the fullest. buy a palistenian beer from them and enjoy on the roof top... delicious with an amazing view!:)
no sheets provided to cover the warm blanket in, as we are used to in europe. no heaters can make it a bit cold in the winters, but is rather the norm than the exception in the middle east.
It was rather expensive (and cold) in the Christmass time, and there should be at least free towels. Otherwise, nice place to be.
Friendly owner, nice wife and interesting people in the hostel.
I thought I should pay 60 NIS for the dorm, but the owner told me that there is a 15 per cent commission for the organisation, so I payed 69 NIS.
At this place nothing didn't work.I booked a bed at dormitory for 4 at the price of 53 shekel. When i arrived they said me thatis full and they gave me a couch at the living room among the staff of the family. At morning was noisy.I asked for a towel that was included at the price, and the old woman said i want 5 shekel to wash after. At morning the old lady said dodn't take a shower ,just wash your face,What? And after the old man came with a paper the time that one other guy was sleeping and said pay this now. The price was more from the reservation and after started to be angry and i showed the reservation and the price.,but they didn't mind about.they tried to take more 7 shekel. Also the day before one other girl said them that paid more money and wanted them back ,but they didn't mind also. Don't stay there ,find some proper hostel in the area
Friendly staff. walking to sites
no or poor wifi. they asked for extra money for towel. felt unsecure walking to hotel at night
Very friendly hosts. They organised dinner, breakfast, and transport as it was a Jewish Holiday. Rooms are spacious and clean. Good running water. Excellent views of the Cana Wedding Church as it is 10 metres from where we had dinner on the patio landing.
Nice Ppl. We felt it like our home.
it's a very comfortable hostel! just five minutes walk from the Square. the staff are very warm and friendly!! i felt like staying at my own house with my own family! the hostel is very clean and tidy! and you can have a good view of bethlehem from the balcony! i felt relaxed staying at this hostel! very queit and comfortable!!also the breakfast they provided was really delicious!! and great great thanks for the Holy Bible they gave me as a gift!!! i will definitely choose House of Peace next time i come to bethlehem:)
The location was a 10 min walk from manger square.
There were lots of the family's personal belongings in the room. It made is feel as if we were intruding. The breakfast was very expensive for the quality of food that was received. We were asked to pay during the evening before our last nights stay. I was then patronised as to why I did not have the money to pay before check out. This was not received well.
