With my boyfriend we felt at home, very warm. Grandparents who live there are very friendly. The breakfast they prepare is the best! highly recommend it. The location is perfect. Very good everything.
location was great the family who owned House of Peace were helpful and super nice cute apartment such a great family business, but the apartment felt dirty and there were not enough basics (like pillow covers, blankets, extra keys, etc)
there was no pillow cover not enough blankets power went out no heating the wifi didn't work sometimes very basic bathroom was moldy only one key for apartment door, and someone was locked in!
To sleep on mattress on the ground without sheets and one thin blanket, very poor heating, crowded rooms around us
location is central, family takes care of their guests, great hospitality
Cleanness, comfort, shared bathroom, service
Anton, his wife and son Dani were so wonderfully welcoming and easy-going that we felt right at home. My wife and I spent nearly a week with them and would have stayed weeks longer if we had been able to. Their lovely three floor house has huge terraces to sit and relax on, the rooms are large and perfectly comfortable; each floor has kitchen and bathroom facilities. WiFi access is available on the first two floors, with a slightly weaker signal on the third. The family is so helpful and kind; ready to offer their suggestions and assistance when they can. Our intention was to have a relaxed stay in Bethlehem and we came away feeling we had a home away from home.
The owners are a supernice and friendly couple. They answer all your questions and give you an inside view of the situation in the Westbank. Try the tasty mint tea of the Lady of the house!
Staff is friendly, facilities are clean
Booking system was not well-managed; what was supposed to be a 4-bed dorm became a 10-bed dorm. Staff also did not appear prepared for my presence.
Excellent atmpsphere. Nice people and quite close to the city centre. They prepare v.good tea with mint leafes. Low cost accomodation.
The owners of the hostel are very nice and extremely helpful. They will really make you feel at home. The hostel is probably the cleanest I've ever been to. Also spacious rooms.
There was no hot water in the shower. There's a curfew, which is inconvenient if you want to stay out late.
the constant presence of hosts
The staff is wonderful! The place is cheap and well located. Clean. The owner has many stories to tell.
There are two big dorms (and some rooms, but I do not remember how many and if they have their own bathroom). I spent there 4 nights with a friend of mine. We were alone in the dorm so it was perfect. However, I guess that when the dorms are full (males: 12 beds, females: around 10) could be a problem for the bathroom (2 bathrooms, 1 shower).
The hosts are a nice christian family, very hospitable and helpful. The place is in a really good location- a quiet quarter 10 minutes walk from the Church and the main square. Good value for your money
Inadequate hot water Inadequate heat No breakfast(but I knew that)
The location is ok.
I do not recommend stay there during the winter. I stayed there in December and there was no hot water for shower and the place was freezing as they supply gas heater, which is very dangerous and doesn't heat properly.
Anton (the owner along with his wife), spoke very good English and upon arrival say me down to have a cup of tea and talk with him and his wife, they are incredibly kind and interesting, and willing to talk about anything or accommodate any special requests, I'd highly recommend the house of peace to anyone looking to stay in Bethlehem!
nice location, nice owners
freezing cold, the heater did not really work, worn-down place
very friendly, warm, and helpful house owners who invite you into their home and trust you to the fullest. buy a palistenian beer from them and enjoy on the roof top... delicious with an amazing view!:)
no sheets provided to cover the warm blanket in, as we are used to in europe. no heaters can make it a bit cold in the winters, but is rather the norm than the exception in the middle east.
It was rather expensive (and cold) in the Christmass time, and there should be at least free towels. Otherwise, nice place to be.
