The hotel is charming and set in the historic town 2 blocks from the main square. Our room (102) was large and overlooked the small entry courtyard. Beautifully furnished with designer features, it had a very comfortable king bed, electric fireplace and small balcony. The bath was spacious with only a walking shower but it had excellent water pressure. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of meat, cheese and breads. As others of pointed out the gracious hospitality of all day tea and cake was appreciated. In addition to the beautiful attention to detail throughout the hotel, the owners are what make this hotel special. They are warm and friendly and make you feel most welcome.
Nothing!! Loved this hotel and highly recommend!
Beautifully decorated with high end facilities. The rooms although small didnt feel that way and the way the rooms were styled made you feel as if you were at home. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Location was fantastic to walk to sites or stroll around the village.
Only issue was the Wifi didnt work for the first day, but once we spoke to the staff they reset the server and it started to work then.
Warm relaxed service, decent breakfast, excellent cakes, nice room and great location all for a great price
Fantastic hosts, staff, great location and very comfortable. Will be staying here again. Highly recommended.
We loved staying here. It was newly remodeled and fabulous. Staff was very informative and friendly. They provided us with great information for utilizing our short time in Sintra
The Wi-Fi was okay. You had to move around the room to find it.
Excellent location Nice and big room with nice terrasse Very kind and helpful staff
wifi in the room would have been nice
A very cozy and warm place, the room is perfect and confortable! The breakfast is delicious! We felt at home!
The wi-fi didn't work out very well!
Beautifully decorated and presented, loved the breakfast and tea /cake option for guests throughout the day. Decor is beautiful , location gives perfect views of valley from guest balconies.
Room had very poor lighting for night reading. Bathroom shower leaked out onto floors, no real place to hang clothes. Smokers in adjacent balcony room and on lower patio, so room smelled of smoke. Very poor wifi reception throughout the guesthouse.
The rooms are all lovely. Tried 3 of them! Very handy for the town. Nice to have refreshments available all day in the breakfast room and free of charge! Good breakfast. Lovely courtyard to sit outside. Staff very helpful.
No air-con so very warm in the rooms. With the windows open it was very noisy due to very noisy people in the square until 3 am. Got no sleep for 2 nights! Owner did try to help by moving rooms and providing a fan which helped .
Charming, cozy, and very very friendly. Right in the centre of Sintra.
Very close to the center, but not right near all the tourist shops Great help with finding a restaurant Cozy room with comfortable bed Good breakfast
I loved my stay at Aguamel. It's perfectly located in the centre of the old town, within an easy walk of the city palace, handcrafts shops, sculpture walk and railway station. I felt welcome as soon as I arrived, the charming hostess put me totally at ease and the staff were warm and friendly, but not overbearing. The daily afternoon tea (home made cake and a selection of teas) was a lovely bonus, and the daily breakfast spread was great, too. I loved my attic room and the convenience of having a wide selection of restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes walk. I would highly recommend Aguamel.
Not a problem for me, but travelers with mobility issues should be aware that this is a relatively small hotel spread over 3 floors with no lift/elevator, and that it is midway up a fairly steep hill in a cobbled, pedestrianised area.
All was super
Beautiful house with a nice yard. Very good location. Totally new, clean, stylish and warm feeling. The breakfast is super good. We love the all-day-around tea and homemade cake. And very important, the owner and staff are super nice, and we miss them!
We had a wonderful stay at the Águamel and the staff was always extremely helpful and made us feel at home. The room was great and the breakfast was also wonderful. Location 1 min walk away from the historic centre meant that it was quiet yet close to everything.
Sound travels easily in the hotel, so in the morning you could hear the staff set up the breakfast. The wi-fi coverage was not very good and a couple of wi-fi repeaters would probably be a good idea.
breakfast was excellent great hospitality nice interior design
Very clean, lovely spacious rooms, and fantastic bathroom shower. Also has a nice selection of breakfast included and is in a great location to see all of Sintra's main tourist sites.
nice room, warm welcome, really lovely
sign with prices for things, like "shower gel is free"--there is no need to say that
Location, Clean, Beautiful Big Rooms with Balcony, Breakfast was plentiful, Knowledgeable Staff, General Service from arrival to departure was Wonderful.
Wifi Terrible, No lift and No Parking.
Almost everything is nice!
Too noisy about the stairs and outside.
Aguamel is a wonderful guesthouse right in the historic district of Sintra. It has very modern decor, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, and gave us great suggestions on where to go. The included breakfast was always fresh and good. The best part of this guesthouse is that it is walking distance to most of the major attractions in Sintra. It made a great base for visiting all the castles and palaces in the area. I would definitely recommend it!
The guest house was very nice, pleasant, convenient, silent, and also located in an excellent place. The staff is friendly and we were very sad to leave after two nights.
No elevator. There is a difference between the quality of the rooms. We were two couples; so one of the rooms was terrific and the other was relatively less good .
Excellent location. Very close to the city centre and located in nice quite area.
Room had wooden floors so you could hear everybody walking around.
Very close to all Sintra attractions. Only at 10 minutes walk from Quinta Da Regaleira. Design of the place. Breakfast very good. People attentive
Maybe a little bit noisy outside during weekend.
Ambience was wonderful, as well the location in central Sintra.
Guest house is difficult to get to, especially if roads are blocked for special functions as they were the day we were there. Property is not suitable for disabled persons as there are stairs both inside and outside the property, and no elevators.
