The location was ideal and the staff were friendly and helpful. The dining room was delightful and the music was unobtrustive. The only very minor things wrong with our accommodation--and they were really minor compared to all the good things--were that the mattresses were too hard and that it was difficult to shift the water from the tap to the shower. (I had to hit the valve with the shower head. A hammer would have been useful.) Otherwise, it was a wonderful, faultless hotel!

Everything. Very comfortable, friendly hotel. Clean, cozy, good value for money. Nothing. All was good! Maybe one thing: the internet (wifi) was a bit slow...

Very friendly staff with a very good restaurant. Ideally placed for the old historic centre of Braga with good links to the nearby and very beautiful Geres National park. The electrical box in the room was father noisy. That said it seemed that the staff were unaware of the problem and were concerned so I would imagine it was fixed that very day.

This hotel is famous as one of the best restaurants in the town. The reception is very friendly and the room was fully renovated based on the traditional historical building. And the price was reasonably good.

Staff was really friendly and it is truly a 4 star hotel regarding everything. The hotel is located in the center of Braga which is great. And it is only a 7 min bus ride (bus 24) from the university campus which was very convenient since my conference was on campus. Loved it and I would definitely stay there again.

The restaurant The lobby is too small. The room is small, the bathroom too. The bed too narrow for 2 persons (one queensize for 2). No place for the baggages etc. Absolutely too much 4 stars.

This was the finest hotel that we stayed in during our 4 week visit to Portugal. Everything about the hotel showed the commitment of its management to provide the best possible experience. The staff was especially courteous and helpful. The restaurant approaches a gourmet status and, once again, the staff was well trained and performed at a high level of professionalism. A rate gem among hotels of this category. There was nothing to not like.

Behind and old looking wall you can find an excellent and well kept hotel with comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant provides nice food at reasonable prices and excellent wine. Breakfast is good and with a reasonable choice. The hotel is well situated in town center and is very well kept. Really value for money.

Fabulous hotel with excellent staff - if you're driving, then drive right along the pedestrian area - it's OK, for cars too - get our your luggage and then get a key from the reception to unlock a parking thing. Very close to the main square. We were there during a local festival which was great - but hard if you want to sleep, so ask for a room at the back when you book

- The location - the interior - the staff - the price! - the breakfast - the garden - The restaurant is not worth his "Bib Gourmand" - only 4 free parking places (during the day)

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location in a very attractive town. We would have liked to have stayed longer Rather unfortunate taps and bathroom fittings that were difficult to use when wet

Perfect location in the inner city of Braga. Very clean, comfortable rooms with classical decoration. Although the hotel is centrally located, our room was quiet as it is a pedestrian area. Breakfast is served in a very nice old part of the building or on the terrace to the backyard with small garden. Choice and quality were good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Internet available free of charge. 4 parking places available for free opposite the hotel. Otherwise parking nearby in a parking center which is free of charge during the night for hotel guests - so you only have to pay for the day. As we did not stay a lot during the day, this was perfectly ok for us.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent, within walking distance of some of the best the city has to offer (imho: Café Vianna, Brasileira, the sé de Braga, Reitoria, Porta Nova and restaurants nearby...). Bar is small and not very confortable. But my main criticism is that if you arrive late at the hotel door you have to phone security so they let you in (a minor inconvenience if you have a working mobile with you, but...). Surely fitting a doorbell or some sort of signaler that does not disturb the other guests should not be too difficult.

“We were looking for a mid-priced hotel in the center of Braga and chose the Dona Sofia. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, far more selection than expected. Although not all rooms looked out on a lovely pedestrian plaza, ours did. Ask about this. All in all, an excellent choice.” Robert, Denver |
