The location and views were out of this world - booking.com's description doesn't do it justice - this is an amazing hotel in an amazing location with suberb prices!

Receptionist was a a bit unfriendly - it was too much trouble to check us in - I think she was having a bad day.

room was big and clean

Air conditioning was not working well. Restaurant/breakfast in the basement without view except to the inner court which was not very inviting (no table cloths, no decoration, just a few flower pots). Rooms with a view are reserved for bedrooms with double bed, no twin beds. Ventilation from kitchen (?) in front of our room, smelled like a gas cooker from time to time

The elevator, the view (room 105), the location and the owner who was very helpful at several different occasions.

I was not impressed with the food (goes for the entire country) that was served at the hotel. Of course, we only had one dinner there and this is just my opinion. The bathroom smell (other travelers complained about that too) which is caused by all drains all coming together into one pipe without the benefit of a syphon, but was nothing an open window couldn't fix.

Friendly staff and check-in,clean room with excellent view, quiet, easy to find, good breakfast, excellent value for money, good parking facilities. Highly recommended to others.

Hotel was charming with fantastic views. Staff were very helpful. We asked where we could find petrol in very broken Portuguese and the manager told us, but as he was worried we might not have understood, found someone who came and explained it to us in perfect English during dinner.

It would be nice to have an electric kettle in the room for making coffee/tea. The restaurant was good but not as fantastic as others we found in the area (but in Marvao itself was the only one that seemed to be open in the evening in January). Breakfasts were very good, except for the very artificial orange juice, yuck.
