The room, interior, poor breakfast!
Room was dark
Being from Canada and pulling this little gem off the internet we really lucked out, close to the metro, good food and shopping. The assistance we received from the people at the hotel was great as we don't speak Portuguese, even if they couldn't speak english at least they tried. Would stay again if we were to go again
Wifi didn't work very well
Central position,clean room,quite comfortable,just a bit small,
The rooms were a bit dated, and there's only WiFi in the lobby, not in the rooms. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very basic, but cheap. The location is excellent, right in the center, walking distance from everything. Would glady stay again!
Looking a little tired.
Central clean friendly staff
No wifi in rooms, terrible "free" breakfast, scruffy carpets, stained walls, slight odour everywhere etc... it needs a major clean and refit. It might be "value" if it was 20 euros a night but not at 40....
Breakfast very basic - just rolls and jam. BUT - good pastelerias nearby! Try the "Pastel de Natas" - excellent little vanilla tarts
Great, central location. Comfortable bed. Excellent value. Trams and buses nearby (including Airport bus).
Very good location, good price, helpfull staff, basic breakfast (variety should be improved if more than two nights stay).
No wifi in rooms, but very fast connection in bar area.
We liked the closeness to the centre of Lisbon and tourist attraction, bars and restaurants.. Good value for money, with breakfast( though basic) included. comfortable rooms. staff helpful. comfortable lounge /bar area. luggage area. to leave suitcases. We would definitely stay there for a return visit as we enjoyed our visit to Lisbon with amazing hot weather for a March weekend!
wifi doesn't work at the fourth floor, basic breakfast (bread, butter, jam and tea or coffee...no water or fresh products), old furniture (rooms and bathrooms will benefit from some renovation)
very good position, friendly staff, very convenient price
The rooms are a little tired and the WC was leaking badly and moved alarmingly when sat upon!
The property is a traditional Portugese pension - located in a central location from a doorway in the street to a second floor reception. The staff are very friendly and helpful
The location was excellent.
wifi only at the reception area, rooms not-so-well furnished and bed a bit uncomfortable.
wonderful position, in the very center of baixa neighbourhood. good staff, basic breakfast but included. Great value for money
squeking beds, worn out furnishings and furniture in the lounge, wi-fi only in the lounge
Right in the centre with easy reach to shops, restaurants, transportation, and lots of places of interest. Clean bathroom, clean bed sheets. Friendly staff, esp. at the reception, nice bread at breakfast
Room is very small. Can be slightly smelly when window is closed. Breakfast very simple. But altogether I would come again, I liked it.
central, convenient location. quiet. clean. good value for money.
the entrance leaves alots to be desired that gives a wrong impression.also the last time i was in a lift like that was in the 70s.
location is fab, room was very clean although dated but added to the whole place ,as is the bar where you have breakfast, bread rolls and jam which was fine.the staff where excellent and helpfull.what you have to remember is what you pay and that makes this place value for money.would we return yes on a short 3 day break it ticks all the boxes.
I travel a lot to Lisbon due to work and always go to Insulana. The staff is very helpful, approachable and gentle. the rooms are excellent for short stays and weekly stays. always clean. breakfast, though simple and the same, is very good and the coffee is mega. Thanks for always welcoming me to your 'home'.
A bad smell in the room, that got better after having opened the windows.
The choice turned out to be excellent. A great value for money, the PERFECT hotel location that allows you to fully enjoy the city, the 24 h reception, friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean room. Breakfast, whom many reputed insufficient, in my opinion was suitable: milk, coffee, two big sandwiches for every guest, butter and jam.
water in bath could have been hotter
Everything really great value for money and location. good breakfast spacious room helpful staff
The breakfast is abundant, but a bit monotonous for five days :)
Central location, clean rooms, well-functioning heating.
Wifi is strong but only available in the lobby or stairwell. Breakfast limited to plain rolls, butter/jam and Nescafe. But it's free and if you want something more/better there are cafés around the corner.
Cafés, restaurants, shops, transportation and tourist/historical sites all within easy walking distance of the hotel.
slightly old fashioned but this actually added to it's charm
