Set in the lively coastal town of Lagos in the Algarve, this family-run hotel occupies a central position with spectacular views across the marina.

The central town for 6 surrounding parishes, Lagos is filled with shops, restaurants, cafès and bars. It also offers the chance to relax on the beach, take boat trips along the coast, discover picturesque coves, go dolphin watching and try your hand at exciting water-sports. Palmares and Boavista golf courses are also nearby.

The hotel provides comfortable guestrooms alongside relaxing and welcoming communal areas, including a TV lounge, games room, terrace and roof-top pool. It also operates a courtesy bus to local beaches - Meia-Praia and Dona Ana.

Marina Rio is located right in the center of Lagos, by the Marina. Various beautiful beaches as well as cultural attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. The bus station is right behind the hotel and the train station is 500 meters away. It is also easily accessible by car, with many free parking facilities around the hotel.

Hotel is perfectly situated betwen the marina and the old town - very clean and well decorated and staff welcoming - also breakfast was excellent. All in all, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in at the price range.

Not everyone might like the proximity of the main road at the front or the bus station at the back at more busy times of the year. Also while the sun bathing areas on the roof are beautifully set out and well kept the pool is very small which might disappoint some people. But these things are reasonably clear in the hotel descriptions and were not a problem for us.

It's location, breakfast was good (for the money) and the very helpful staff. The hotel was very clean. The shower could have been better but it was fine.

Not really, the Marina view side was well worth paying a little more for. The view from the back of the hotel was not good.

The location is excellant and the rooms were beautiful. We stayed at the front with view of the Marina and beyond.

Next to hotel is buss station and at the moment construction works are going on near hotel. Therefore in mornings is very noisy.

Clean, modern, friendly hotel. Nothing too fancy but very comfortable. We had a marina view room. Helpful staff. Good breakfast and very quiet. Fantastic location. Perfect for morning run along marina and ocean. Pleasant roof top terrace. Short walk to old town. Easy, picturesque hikes to beaches. This place is a hidden gem and we will be back (but make sure you have a marina view room).

The location of the hotel was perfect, only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes into town. Also the view of the marina was lovely.

The swimming pool was a bit small and also the water was very cold! The beds were also a little bit too hard.
