Albergaria Do Calvário

This hotel is wonderful! It exudes welcome, comfort and charm - a historical building with tastefully blended modern touches. What really stood out for me was the genuine friendliness of the staff, their helpfulness and interest in the enjoyment of our stay in the city of Évora and the Alentejo region. Breakfast was superb with lots of tasty locally produced foods and after a day of exploring the city it was lovely to relax on the terrace with a glass of wine in the evening.

I liked everything about the hotel.

The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was lovely and the breakfast had mostly local and organic foods. Every effort was made to interact and personally chat with each guest. The most amazing incident, however, was they personally transported some left luggage all the way to our hotel at the Lisbon airport (almost an hour away)!! We we so appreciative and greatful. I would reccomend this place to anyone coming to this area. A real pleasure and highlight of our trip to Portugal.

There is no dinner at the hotel although there are plenty of good restaurants nearby

The staff was wondful. Specifically, the very lovely and helpful lady at the reception, and the charming multi-lingual young woman waiting tables at the breakfast room. Breakfast was one of a kind. Mostly organic and home made, rich and very tasty.

The underground parking was a bit tight for our large family car.

Friendly staff, excellent location just minutes away from the heart of the city. The building has been lovingly restored and looks amazing.

On my portugal holiday evora my favorite town and albergaria do calvario my favorite hotel. From the minute you enter the hotel, the staff make you feel at home. The breakfast was fresh and wonderful; and if I was sitting in the courtyard reading they would bring me a pot of coffee without asking. They planned our whole stay to perfection. I liked the clean room, the covered parking, the internet, the breakfast, and most of all I liked the people who worked in the hotel. They were all very kind and enthusiastic about making us feel comfortable. We liked being able to have a glass of wine and tapas in the courtyard.

Only one small detail, the bed was a little hard and I did not like the material used to cover the mattress. It made the sheets slip and slide.

The outstanding charm and professionalism of the staff. Excellent accommodation. We would stay there again and will certainly recommend it to our friends.

This place is perfectly located inside the city walls. It has a nicely decorated lobby and outside space for some wine and tapas. Bedroom was also impecable and the breakfast was exquisite. The attentive staff make you feel truly welcome. Great place.

1. Attention to detail for example the breakfast buffet explaining where all the local produce comes from. Information around the hotel about events in Evora that day. Breakfast buffet info with the daily weather etc.2. The public areas are very tastefully decorated and very cosy and welcoming.

I didn't know about the early evening activities (wine + tapas) until the next morning. i would have had some if I had known!

We stayed for one night only, but would have loved to stay longer. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, with lots of character and very close to all the main sites in Evora. The owners really care about their guests and the breakfast is no doubt the best we've got in Portugal. Altogether a very special experience.

A wonderful setting in a former olive mill, very tastefully converted. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and a true quality breakfast feast with much local produce. Free wi-fi.

The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The aroma of homemade pastries filled the hotel lobby as they were being baked the night before. The beds were comfortable and the rooms a nice size. The hotel's location is very convenient. It is right inside the walls of the city, so it's easy to find and there's free parking.
