Fantastic service with easy access to beach and restaurants. Comfortable room and nice bar with a great sea view. The parking place was 300mts away from the hotel.

The hotel was lovely, the staff friendly & helpful. The poolside gardens & terraces were beautiful, overlooking the beach and best of all easy access to the beach. The maids came to the room twice daily and towels and bedding were changed every day. We will definitely be returning

Hotel is very nice, and the confort in the hotel is brilliant. The staff at the check in are wonderful, and were very kind in helping me in everything I needed. It is also very good in its location, since it is close to everything. Internet is free... And that is an absolute bonus! Not the hotel's fault, but everything in town was extremely slow. Restaurantes and bars were closed, and very limited option available. In the hotel, the only thing I think that needs improvement is a new "decor".

Attentive and helpful staff. The public rooms in the hotel and our room were spotless. Our suite had two bathrooms, a large sitting room and a large private balcony with a sea view. Some of the main restaurants were within a few yards from the hotel and accessing the beach just took a few minutes. The hotel is located in the quieter end of Praia da Rocha, a few minutes walk from the harbour. The fixtures and furnishings in the room, whilst being very comfortable, clean and well looked after, were in need of updating. The fitness centre required a wider range of equipment.

Everything! It truly did live up to my expectations - I would certainly recommend the hotel to friends and I would definitely go there again without any hesistation. The outside of the building (beach side) could do with a like of paint. Also, be wary when booking a room with a sea-view - they don't all have a balcony (as we'd assumed) - you need to book that too.

The location is close to the beach with good views. The pool area and gardens are kept to a high standard. We always book a superior room with sea view and balcony and find it to be of a good size. The Maid service is very good. The sunset bar veranda is a great place for a drink day or night with a great view of the beach and pool. Free WiFi is also useful. Poor service at the pool bar / restaurant, very difficult to get service at most times. Poolside service is hit and miss, it depends who is on as to whether you get any service. Some staff are very good and some are very lazy. This has been the case every year. The quality of the food at breakfast is good but it is poorly cooked, very often the scrambled eggs were undercooked, as was the bacon. Also every year we find that after two or three days that we don’t want the breakfast, as it is very limited. We have booked this hotel through booking.com for the last five years and this was the first time we had been asked to pay for our stay upon arrival. Every other year we have paid upon departure. This did not overly concern us as we knew what the Hotel was like, had it been our first time then we would have been unhappy to pay up front feeling that the Hotel had our money no matter what.

La plage.... First, they tried to make me pay the whole stay (3 nights) at the begining of the stay.. Hum... Something wrong here... Second, it smell bad in the Hotel and on the balcony (at night). Third, we have asked Jose at the réception a reference for a good restaurant...probably the worst I ever had...(Titanic)... Finally, we stayed 2 nights, thanks to booking.com for arranging this matter, to me I think Bella Vista Hotel seems to be the best pick around .......

The location excellent, spacious rooms, friendly staff, breakfast excellent, offers special rates, facilities and golf arrangements at special promotions The decore is outdated but excellent condition, the pianist in time-warp of 50's but excellent for that era. Excellent for piece and quiet depending on time of year. We stayed Dec.18-21 And extended our visit for Christmas as weather perfect sunny all day. On the down side if you are elderly and find walking difficult this is not the location as getting to the beach difficult - need transport

The stunning views of the sea and surrounding area, from a sea view room only. Breakfast was excellent. We had dinner one evening, it was just ok nothing special about it. Very convenient location to lots of shops and bars, yet it is in a very quiet location. Casino was most enjoyable if you like a flutter. Drinks were expensive. Service very, very, slow. Staff not that busy yet it always took a long time to get a coffee or a drink in the bar area. No one seems to do anything in a hurry. I found the beds too firm for my liking and had a sore back every morning. I think that the rooms are a bit scruffy and tired, could do with a facelift, for a 5 star hotel. I would call it more like a 4 star. Definately should have Tea and Coffee making facilities in the room. This is very important and would make me not stay again. I did not know when I booked it did not supply this in the room.

Have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions, however, this time we had no bath robes in the room, and also no complimentary fruit basket and water. This is a first as every time we have stayed before the items were included.

The location is wonderful and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. The pool area is superb and the supply of towels for the beds was a niece touch. Few small things. The breakfast was excellent but the water for the tea was never hot; it was fine in the coffee jugs. Annoying that you had to queue for the breakfast. Internet facilities very poor and often not working. Hand dispenser not working on four mornings and could be placed in a better situation. The service at the main bar was just not good enough and we only used it once

We enjoyed being looked after by a wonderfully caring and attentive staff in all areas of the Hotel. We enjoyed the sea water pool, offering a bracing swim without having to battle with the surf and waves. The immaculate gardens and surroundings make for a very relaxed ambience, even if Laura the Parrot, wants to attract your attention! Our daily breakfast in the Restaurant was most enjoyable, with an impressively wide choice of buffet. When available, the main restaurant offers a very impressive a la carte menu. We had a great evening at the Casino Restaurant, with its stunning Cabaret Show. A very suitable venue to celebrate a special date during our stay. This was our second visit ( previously 2008) and will certainly be returning again! The Hotel does not have a Library. The TV sets in the rooms could be updated, with a better range of channels for those rare wet days! We would have preferred a double bed instead of 2 singles. Towels now getting a bit hard. Our room ( 830) balcony had no shade from the Sun or parasol. In warmer months, this could pose a problem
