Comfort Inn Almedina Coimbra

My staying (with my fiancee) in this hotel was a complete disaster. I booked a room 3 months in advance for a Saturday night. In this night, there was a bunch of kids in the hotel (with their parents, according the hotel employees) and they didn't stop making noises the whole night (slamming doors, running in the aisle, laughing and speaking loudly). I could fall slept only around 3 o'clock in the morning, after calling and complaining 3 times to the reception (and they did nothing... I mean, they said they did, but the noise didn't stop). At 7 o'clock in the morning the kids started again slamming doors. Ok, I would be unlucky to be in the wrong place and time, but the hotel should had done something. Apart this problem, the room was very dusty. For someone which is alergic, this is terrible. Breakfast and shower were ok.

Do something when you say you would do. The reception said or the kids stop or they go out. Nothing happened. You should be ashamed of charging a customer that couldn't sleep because of your inefficiency dealing with your own customer.

Room was dirty: Hairs between the linens and even pubic hair in the bathroom

The lady in reception was really unfriendly when we checked in.

the central position is an asset, BUT the road in front of the hotel, placed next to a fire station is far too busy. the parking facility could be made free and accessible during longer hours: it closes at 8PM;

The hotel is located at the city centre and it is very easy to go around, even without car.

The breakfast is good.

The staff be prepare better. The hotel is too old and the city doesn't help much.

Every thing separately was Ok, nice size room, clean, parquet floor, twin beds OK, the room had a room to sleep, a room with a sofa that opens into a bed and a bathroom plus a balcony. the view was to the river, very nice but an awful construction site in between.

The general feeling of the room is not so nice, even each item is Ok the whole feeling is cheap.

The location

I came in early to check-in, at which time, they didn't have a single room available. They suggested I stayed at a double-room, with no extra charges.

Not me, but a few colleagues had to leave without the receipt due to some hardware problems (printer).
