Location of the Hotel is excellent - Breakfast buffett was very good with lots of variety for all tastes - We were upgraded to a Sea View as soon as we checked in which was truly lovely and made our stay even more special

The perfect location. Good breakfast. The cleaning of my room was always done after 4p.M. during my whole staying (f9 days) in the hotel.

Check in Staff very friendly lack of staff. Pool bar did not open until 13h30 in the afternoon even after having asked many times. reason why...the Pool Barman and the night bar man were the same, so he needed to sleep.Breakfast food quality was not good. A large variation, howere fruit was from cans not fresh, and the only fresh fruit had no taste (melons). The coffe machines were chemical and really tasted bad, the orange juice was caned and watered down. For a four star hotel, there should be fresh fruit, juice and real coffee.The rooms need to be seriously refreshed as paint and furniture have seen better days. There is a charge for using the room safe in a 4* hotel...why.This is classed as a 4 star hotel...because of the spa, if this was not there, it would be a 2 star.This was the begining of the season, but when you have clients in the hotel, they need to be treated as if it was full season. For us, this was not done.

the rooms were very clean, the cleaners did a good job. Also plenty of hot water in the shower i didnt like that you had to wear a swimming cap in the pool or that you had to pay extra to use the steam room and sauna. Also tea and coffee making facilities in the room would be nice

We were given a free upgrade to a room with a balcony. Everywhere was very clean from reception to the room itself and even the public toilets. The buffet breakfast had a large variety to choose from and the sandwiches we had from the bar were superb. We did not have dinner in the hotel as we wanted to sample the local restaurants. We had a splendid 3 night stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to return. Thank You, our trip went without a hitch!

The location - very short walk to both the beach and the marina, where there are plenty of restaurants. Fantastic lounge area with plenty of seating; good pool, spa and sauna. Good sized room with balcony and sea room - plenty of space for the 3 of us. Nothing - all good

It was very relaxing. The staff were very helpful at all times. The weather was very good. I didn't like having to pay for Safety Deposit Box. I have been to many hotels and I think the last time I paid for a safety deposit box was about 20 years ago. I also found the €3 charge per hour for wireless internet expensive as I would like to check the internet four or five times in the day so this would make it very expensive so I didn't use the internet so much.

In February the room rate was exceptionally low for a luxe hotel like this one. Breakfast was delicious. Indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna/hammam was relaxing.

The hotel was good value for money, the room was clean and tidy but overall the hotel looked a bit tired but nonetheless represented excellent value for a one night pre-airport stay.

Staff are helpfull, sea view rooms are good size and have great views,Hotel well positioned to use the resort bars and resturants. Free local golf transport, easy parking if you have hire car. Breakfasts are repetative, more varity needed.

The best location in Villamoura - right next to beautiful beach, stone's throw from the bustling marina, bus stop to Albuferia next to hotel, stop outside for tourist train, glorious views! Rooms could do with modernising especially kitchenette in our superior room. My parents also stayed and have limited mobility - they commented on difficult of getting in and out of both swimming pools and jacuzzi - consider safer steps!

The hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere, was very clean and staff friendly. Ideal for a short break, lots of golfers staying, which was not a problem-nightmare for me though as we were just there for a relaxing few days without my clubs! Only had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, as ate out in Marina for lunch and Dinner-3 minute walk from hotel., However food and variety at breakfast was excellent-even sparkling wine if you need it! Would highly recommend, had complimentary upgrade from supierior double to junior suite, huge room, only minor problem was that the bed was so rock hard so not the greatest of sleeps!

Very good location close to the beach and marina. Pool area very clean and spacious with plenty of loungers. Very good selection at breakfast and pool snacks of a very high quality. Staff very slow at clearing dirty pots off tables at breakfast on our last morning we went into breakfast early and there were a lot of tables full of pots, these tables were still dirty 30mins later when we left the dining room

During our short stay in Vilamoura, we were very pleased with the vg Ampalius Hotel. We found the staff very friendly and pleasant to deal with. We were fully satisfied with the standard of the bedroom and that of the hotel in general. Even though this is a large holiday resort hotel, catering for large numbers of guests, the buffet breakfast operated smoothly and efficiently. The hotel is beside the beach and only a few minutes walk away from the Marina, restaurants, etc. Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel.

The location near the beach, the marina and Quarteira is almost perfect and the choice at the buffet breakfast was very good. The view from the room, was also excellent. If you stay at the casino side of the hotel, which we did, you have to put up with disco nights on Thursday, Friday and Saturday which go on till 6 in the morning. So if you want to avoid the noise, ask for a room away from the Casino.

Location was excellent, directly across from beach, close to town centre and marina area. Also good starting out point for walking the very extensive and well appointed promenade fronting onto the long beach at the eastern end of the town. The hotel complex is well laid out and organised in an efficient yet pleasant manner. Our room had a substantial balcony looking down onto the pool area and beach in a south facing direction. This made for all day sun, but its design allowed for shaded sections at all times as well. The staff were at all times courteous and helpful. Apart from showing its age a little in the rooms bathroom, and the overly controlled max tv volume (set so low that it could only barely be heard when the room was in a state of complete silence), we had virtually no other gripes.
