A great central location, very helpful staff, great selection for breakfast.

Free wifi would be good, we tried to use their internet and the computers were not good, they were very slow and would not send emails for us also the cleaners must be using polish to clean the keyboard and it now has a shine on it so very difficult to see the keys on the keyboard.

Location

It's very annoying to have to pay extra for WiFI and even then it expires in an hour. The food at the night time buffet was a disaster............not recommended.

I,ve had previous experience of the Vila Gale hotels as I stayed in the Marina on 2 previous occassions but as golfing holidays but on this occassion they did not have the required dates available.There are alot of similarities in the 2 hotels with both having excellent staff with a great understanding of customers needs.They are more than generous with their breakfast hours which I know cater for golfers who play early and also people who have early flights.On checking in we were origionally given a room on the 9th floor which wasnt suitable and he kindly upgraded us to a room on the second floor with a balcony and these kind of touches are to be commended and something that the customer remembers and will always return.Over all I could not fault anything about the hotel and they obviously are a very successful group with high standards and a pleasure to deal with,so congrats to all at vila gale ampalius from a very happy irishman.

The location and value for money was excellent.

Overall it was very good. On a less positive note, the service is a little slow, and the food is average at best.

Very friendly and informative staff, great stay over for us catching an early flight from Faro next morning

The location - very short walk to both the beach and the marina, where there are plenty of restaurants. Fantastic lounge area with plenty of seating; good pool, spa and sauna. Good sized room with balcony and sea room - plenty of space for the 3 of us.

Nothing - all good

The best location in Villamoura - right next to beautiful beach, stone's throw from the bustling marina, bus stop to Albuferia next to hotel, stop outside for tourist train, glorious views!

Rooms could do with modernising especially kitchenette in our superior room. My parents also stayed and have limited mobility - they commented on difficult of getting in and out of both swimming pools and jacuzzi - consider safer steps!

During our short stay in Vilamoura, we were very pleased with the vg Ampalius Hotel. We found the staff very friendly and pleasant to deal with. We were fully satisfied with the standard of the bedroom and that of the hotel in general. Even though this is a large holiday resort hotel, catering for large numbers of guests, the buffet breakfast operated smoothly and efficiently. The hotel is beside the beach and only a few minutes walk away from the Marina, restaurants, etc. Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel.

The location near the beach, the marina and Quarteira is almost perfect and the choice at the buffet breakfast was very good. The view from the room, was also excellent.

If you stay at the casino side of the hotel, which we did, you have to put up with disco nights on Thursday, Friday and Saturday which go on till 6 in the morning. So if you want to avoid the noise, ask for a room away from the Casino.
