Very good Restaurant. Nice views. Very good bed.
Not a cosy suite. Maybe works better in summer.
Staff was very courteous and food was very good design and overall concept very interesting.
Cleanliness of spa, spa needed some maintenance, lights out in pool area, water drip over pool, price a bit high for supposed quality and luxury
Modern architecture in a rural landscape; exciting food; beautiful rooms; warm reception; close to Lisbon.
That we didn't stay longer.
Peace, quiet, good food, courteous staff. Excellent weekend break.
Pretty much everything, this is a perfect spot to relax and eat well. Huge suite, very well equiped, magnificent black stone bath, where 4 people would fit at the same time, very nice external private bath (not really a pool). The top detail is the opening on top of the bed through which you can see the sky or, if you open the glass cover, sleep under it on a gorgeous night. The one-star restaurant has a high level of cuisine, a nice blend of new and tradition. We had a meal with a very good glass wine pairing. The cellar has a big list of top portuguese wines. Definitely a place to return. Service was attentive and efficient.
Price is a bit on the upper scale for a place outside main tourist areas. Breakfast had no hot options menu and you had to ask for it but nobody informed us about this "detail"...
Location, atmosphere, staff, design and of course the food and wine was excellent. Try the tasting menu and wine package. If you want something special then go for L'AND and experience a hotel that is outstanding in all terms...
Eveything was perfect, very very wonderfull.
Some clients don't have education and respect for the other.
The environment, the comfort, the architecture, the food... oh the food, and mostly... the peace, the sounds and the colors.
The maintenance of the bikes
The pools!!! The outdoor pool was with the right temperature and the plunge pool of the sky view room was really nice! Also everyone was very helpful. If you go please make sure you request to fire the fireplace. And do make sure you get to go to the breakfast. It was delightful.
The fact that the sauna was not ready to use at the opening hour - 9h. I was under the impression it would be already hot and ready to use by them. besides that everything was 5*s
The restaurant, the breakfast, all Great!
the restaurant has a michelin star and is the pride of the hotel, food is really good there, we came 3 evenings in a row; mainly also because there s hardly anything else in close proximity; breakfast was great as well; rooms were spacious
what did disappoint us was the price; it was too cheap; what I mean to say is the prices charged for our stay were obviously not enough to cover the expenses; how otherwise would you justify the lack of maintenance? the hotel is all white, that needs regular updating and a paintbrush; the garden needs grooming, the grass watering; the swimming-pool area an extension since there were not enough sunbeds; once you are doing that I suggest you add a proper pool-bar as well instead of carrying the small wooden one from upstairs downwards every day; the restaurants bar and terraces need some vegetation to make it more appealing in the burning heat and have to be cleaned on a daily basis; keeping the rather big rooms in mind, the bathrooms are rather small and out of proportion; last thing: invest in updating the chimneys of the outdoor fireplaces, the smoke gets caught in the aircon system instead of lost in the higher air due to bad ventilation
- Michelin starred restaurant - General design of the hotel - External Fireplace - Staff (very kind and helpful) - General atmosphere at night
- Aged facilities : torn paper wall, torn sun beds, garden left abandoned, half filled lake, ... - Not much to do around. Visit of Evora is ok but not great. - Pricey for what it is
Very spacious room with lots of space. Very nice quiet location surrounded by vineyards. Nice pool area and spa. Excellent restaurant and goof breakfast.
Wall paper in the shower.
This hotel is an amazing experience for architecture lovers. Everything was design and thought through beautifully. Very spacious and modern, the hotel is beautifully decorated, specially in the common areas and restaurant. The estate where the hotel is located has beautiful views over Montemor and Alentejo's landcape. The pool area is a must, specially when the weather is specially warm and that is like everyday in Alentejo. If you like wine and are interested in the diferent types and processes this is also the perfect location as they have their own brand, vineyards and production facilities. The restaurant is such a beautiful space with its wooden furniture, big windows over the landscape and warm terraces! The products served during breakfast, lunch and dinner are top quality. At L'and you will be able to see stars you have never seen before. Beautiful!
Thought the staff did their best and tried to be helpful you can see they lack the necessary training for such a high standards hotel. The pool bar, although it served delicious drinks, snacks and lunches, it had a terrible system. They had to set the bar every day and take it down in the evening. This process took literally hours. There was only one waiter which was insufficient as he had to take the orders (manually) go back to the kitchen to place them and then come back with the food/drinks. I had the impression the same waiter was also helping in the kitchen as he took ages to come out and take the other requests. Just dreadful. The number of beds around the pool was also clearly insufficient. A lot of the guests had to sit in the grass, which is not terrible, but at the same time would have been so easy for the hotel management to fix with a couple extra beds. I recommend the suits for families or couples who travel together. If you are a couple traveling alone the suites are just pointless. What you get is a huge living room connection to two rather tight sleeping rooms with standard WCs. Sure, the amenities were comfortable, beautiful and clean but rather disappointing as from the 100 m2 you rent you end up only using a third if you are only two guests. It would be better if they had room typologies for couples with bigger sleeping rooms and restrooms maybe with a proper bathtub. The restaurant serves really good quality food thought I must say the tasting menu is quite disappointing comparing to other restaurants rated with one michelin star. I was a bit disappointed to find out the chef didn't really make an effort to integrate and interpreter the delicious food you find all over Portugal, particularly in the Alentejo Region. The food served was extremely international, you could be eating in any european capital. At least all the wines were Portuguese and they beautifully paired with food. If you take one of the wine tastings (and you should!
The gardens around the sky suites could do with a little more attention - but that is being really critical
The food and the staff
Outdoor areas need a bit of a garden tidy up.
Fantastic pool and restaurant
The restaurant is excellent and in clear positive contrast to the rest of the hotel.
Not a 5-star hotel at all!! Nicely situated hotel but it requires serious renovation and maintenance. We had rotten outdoor furniture and faced a kind of an outdoor whirlpool with brown water inside. In a 5-star hotel?!? Disgusting! Bathroom was covered with some kind of wallpapers!! And those were peeling off!! Rather a 3-star hotel.
Very helpful staff Great rooms and views
Reception staff were excellent. Dining room was excellent with a good night-time view. The degustation menu was interesting although the accompanying wines were not always good.
Bathroom lighting was poor. Too dark! The mirrors steamed up when the shower was used and became useless. Spa pool and outdoor pool both had slippery tiles.
Location, architecture, concept
Restaurant experience, taking into consideration that it has 1* Michelin classification.
This hotel is fantastic. The rooms were great, with huge space, great comfort, the nature surrounding it. The suite with the roof view is amazing. Plus the free wine tasting on arrival was a very nice touch. Definitely recommend a visit
Although the staff is really friendly and nice, they need a bit of extra training to reach the next level, but is understandable as this is a new place.
Design and layout of public areas, guest facilities and rooms. Nice theme for privacy and relaxation, food selection and presentation very good to excellent.
Attention to detail with housekeeping in guest rooms and buildings decoration could be improved. Glass roof theme over rated. Would say its over priced accomodation.
Sky suites really worth money, even it it's raining. The private swimming pool is very convenient if ones want to stay in a private setting.
As room and reception and general facilities are different buildings, the path should have a better illumination and less subject to be in mud.
Beautifull place and excelent restaurant.....the best silence...
