Beautifully designed facility and superb people running it. You meet and interact with the young owners who are always available for you. Every evening the owners host a 'sundowner' drink around a campfire where you get to meet the other guests. The food is good but not exceptional.

Design, decoration, care for details friendly staff and location made our (unfortunately) short stay to remain memorable. It is trully exceptional. Breakfast and dinner where excellent with generous portions. Very nice market garden.

The restaurant is wonderful, namely at dinner, breakfast and also the afternoon snacks. The fireplace near to the giant jacuzzi bathtub is also quite epic and enchanting. The decoration of all the place and the unpretentious and kind staff and treatment. Top, Top!

Considering the country and the location I think it can be quite expensive.

It was a perfect stay. Romantic fireplace in the bedroom. Very spacious room. We loved the eco friendly aspect, and all the freshly grown veggies and fruits from the hotel garden we got to taste in the restaurant. The hotel has a family -homey atmosphere, ideal for a weekend of pure relaxation.

Our jacuzzi tub was outside. It was a little windy and cold. But got to use it anyway when the sun came through.

We stayed in the room at the very end of the corridor (after going down the stairs turn right). The design of the hotel was amazing and the gold rooms are spacious, have fireplaces, patio and large bathrooms. Much creativity, ingenuity, professionalism and passion have gone into creating an exciting boutique five star luxury environment with downsides. The bed was very comfortable; fine pillows, duvet and bedding.

There are 2 downsides for the international luxury traveller - the first being the flies. There are lots of standing water features at the hotel and unfortunately this breeds mosquitos and flies. They are especially prevalent when you are eating and also the food and drinks at the breakfast buffet has flies sitting on it so do watch what you eat. You get tea and cake when you arrive at the hotel which is nice although one day I noticed 5 slices of cake on separate plates were laid out on a table and all had flies on the cake. I assumed they were unwanted but 10 minutes later when i passed by 5 guests who had just arrived were eating them. The choice of food is limited as the kitchen is small and there are no written menus. There is, however, a blackboard written in Portuguese. The second downside is that you do not get bills/cheque after each meal to sign, there are no prices and no bills until you check out. So you know what to expect, when we checked out of the hotel and got the bill we noticed our dinners averaged 100 euros for 2 of us including one bottle of wine. Do check your bill carefully before you check out - we were charged 135euros on 3 occasions for a non-existent taxi. They did quickly remove the 3 charges from the bill though when we pointed out the error. Do not expect professional corporate four seasons type service. Each staff member has their own quirky personality so this means you may click with some of them and not so much with others. The staff do try hard to please though. Also note there is no TV in the room though staff were always trying to help and brought us one as there was one spare. The breakfast buffet is cold but they will do eggs for you if you ask.

Unfortunally the heating system of the outdoor pool was broken.

This hotel was exactly as I had hoped it would be, intimate but spacious, charming with very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The spa is fantastic, all of the facilities and hotel design is top notch. It's a wonderful walk down to the beach too. And lots of great little touches that make the stay truly unique. Highly recommend a stay here.

The only small critique I have is that the restaurant at the hotel, while very nice, felt rather over-priced for the types of meals, which were fairly simple/rustic fare. Particularly, as my boyfriend is vegetarian, the veggie options were not as inventive as they perhaps could have been (especially considering they have a vegetable garden on-site) and almost same price as meat/fish mains, which hover around €20 mark - too pricey I think. But this was ultimately a minor quibble in what was a fantastic stay!!

Where to begin?? This hotel is truly exceptional and one-of-a-kind. Built close to the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, every single detail was overwhelming!! Marta and Goncalo have realized their life-long dream and every aspect of Areias Do Seixo showcases their inspiration and vision. Each room has it's unique style and personality - we stayed in Nha Cretcheu, a "gold room" and would gladly have extended our vacation if only we could have. The combination of polished concrete, wood and design objects creates a beautiful atmosphere and nowhere else have I seen the hotel owners / hosts gather around an outside campfire w/ the guests, sharing (delicious!) wine and stories most every evening. A second night Goncalo took interested guests out to a great dinner of Cataplana in a locals-only bar/restaurant by the sea. This hotel is worth a trip just by itself, and we already miss the smells of lavender and chamomile from the beautiful garden and our more than luxurious room with all the brightly lit candles in the night time!! A unique place to relax and unwind, yet Lisbon is only a short 40 minute car ride away if you're seeking a little more action.

Areias do Seixo was one of the best hotels (if not the best) I´ve ever stayed in. The Hotel, the rooms (all unique and different from the others), the staff and even the owners (that you´ll probably meet if you decide do visit the hotel) have an attention to detail that, nowadays, is very hard to find. In short, a magnificent hotel. Fantastic!

There´s nothing relevant to mention. The only "bad" thing about the hotel is that it´s a bit expensive, not allowing (at least for me) more frequent visits, lol

O conceito do hotel, decor, comodidades e localizacao

Refeicoes! Nao esta ao nivel do hotel (estrelas) e precos efectuados. Dou como exemplo o pequeno almoco, especialmente onde o hotel e localizado, deram fiambre e queijo fatiado (de pacote) sem qualquer outra alternativa. As refeicoes deixam muito a perder neste hotel e nao sao compativeis com os precos exigidos.

Gostei da decoração e bom gosto absolutamente únicos. Nunca vi nada tão bonito. Parabéns

Do vinho servido no jantar especial de S. Valentim. O preço de cada refeição (49€) implicava um vinho MUITO melhor. Foi pena e inesperado

basicamente de tudo; quero realçar a forma discreta, educada e simultaneamente descontraída como nos recebem! quero voltar,claramente e com mais tempo!

Conceito super interessante, embora pouco explicitado no Booking. Localização muito bonita. Instalações muito confortáveis e funcionários simpáticos e prestáveis.

Relação qualidade/preço algo desajustada. Os quartos, mesmo com lareira ligada, são muito frios no inverno. O sistema de aquecimento (um sistema de água quente a circular no chão) é completamente ineficiente.

Les bougies allumées dans la chambre après le repas, la musique d'ambiance, la cheminée au pied du lit... tout ! Et l'attention du personnel à notre égard.

The architecture is senstational, views were stunning and the staff could not have been more helpful. It is peaceful, romantic ... heaven!

A couple of minor points; it would have been good if the out door pool had been heated and/or a small in door pool.
