Balaia Golf Village  

Great location just a 5 minute walk to the lovely beech, 15 minutes stroll into Ohlos and 5 minutes by cab (3.90 euro's) into Albufeira. Our apartment was very spacious with one large balcony and a further smaller one off the bedroom. Great pools, well equipt kitchen and spacious living area. All we missed was a bbq so we bought one at the chinese shop in Ohlos for e7.50.

Lots of flora and fauna with the mosquito's to go with it. Take some repellent.

Quietness. Possibility to play tennis. Heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Sport hall (small, but that exist). Possibility to cook for your family and live in an apartment like in your own.

No telephone line in your apartment, so if you want to ask something you should use your private mobile phone or go to reception desk. It is not so comfortable, especially at night.

It was relaxing Staff were great

I have been to the area before, therefore I knew the location of the Hotel and resort complex. It was fine although I do think that some of the villas need some updating and some painting....some of the interior of our villa was a bit dated eg. the television was probably from the 80s (CRT type big box with only a scart lead) the sporting facilities were very good eg Golf and Tennis. The only problem with this holiday was the very poor weather, rained a couple of days which put the electric off twice in our Villa. but that is not the resorts fault......I just wish they would have provided the remote control for the Air Conditioning. I asked for this three times and am still waiting for it and am now back at home. Would I stay at this resort again......yes was it great ..........No.....but I put that down to the very poor weather

The staff were a bit slow to fix the problems we had.....still waiting on the remote control of the air conditioner.....so it NEVER worked. + they were a bit slow in fixing the electricity when the electricity went out only in our villa

Nice appartment, pool, and very nice sorounding

Very well maintained grounds with excellent pool and golf facilities. The accommodation was spacious and very clean and well equipped. The location was really good with easy access to shops and restaurants. The staff were all extremely friendly especially in the gym and reception area.

The peace and quiet and the lovely feeling of the woodlands around and the excellent kept garden and shrubs. I love the feeling of being secure and not having loud music playing on the complex. It has all the qualities you require for a relaxing holiday while at the same time being near to all the activity of the old and new town if you so wish.

The restaurant was excellent, the houses was beautiful, the apartment big enough and the parking place just outside the door. A good place for everyone.

Just what we needed as part of our tour around the Algarve

I enjoyed the pools and the spacious gardens.

As my appartment was situated close to the pool, it was difficult to have silence.

A very nice place to relax, the staff is friendly enough and very helpfull. The place is very pretty, and calm too. We stayed in an appartment with 2 bedroom's and a sofa bed. Family of five and one of them (my wife) pregnant. Basicaly, relaxation at his best. Great pool's, good view, very well equiped. Extremly recomended for family who want to relax.

There's always a few "if's". I believe that the pool's should be a bit more guarded, not just ocasionally. I think that the homes next to the golf course, are like a shooting range for people who don't know how to play. Very easy to hit a window or a car. Security could improve, I haven't seen 1 security guard or cameras at the resort, and the gates are always open. Lucky for us, the location is a quiet one. Theres is an invention called air-conditioned, but they haven't dicovered it yet.

The facillities for children are excellent,with many different pools to choose from.The staff were all very freindly.I Would go back again without any hesitation.

I would have expected a much better kitchen area in the villa,especially the amount it cost to stay there.It was all quite old and the cooker was rusty there were very few utensils and only one plug socket !!! I felt that I paid 5 star prices and only got 3 star accomadation

It is a very spacious and relaxing holiday village with plenty of pools and a kids area for young kids. All round very nice friendly plce for young families. Reception staff very nice and helpful, on arrival they moved us to a place closer to playground and kids pool which was great for our family.

The only thing I could comment on was the main restaurant beside reception, I did not find eating there pleasant and did not feel they catered for children. In addition on one night we paid €18 per person for a buffet (sunday evenings) the food was nice if a bit bland but as we had already fed our kids in our apartment we were happy to let them play as we ate, the frsutrating thing was the restaurant staff hovering around our table expecting us to feed our kids and avoid the €9 charge per child! Like I said at start this was the only negative critisism I could make a comment on.
