Where do I begin we cannot say enough good things about this absolute little gem. If you are like us and you hate boring big hotels with no personality or character that you can find almost every where across the globe then you will absolutely love Casa do Patio. Tucked away between the narrow streets in the Bairro Alto we got to experience Lisbon as the Lisbonites do. This really is a charming little place and the staff are great and they make the best sponge cake and fried bread with sugar sorry don't know the name :) in all of Lisbon and the fresh juice in the morning is delicious. Would we stay here again? you bet ya we would.
Absolutely nothing there is nothing to dislike :)
The staff, friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfasts, fresh and plentiful - everything homemade and orange juice freshly squeezed for each guest.
A little noisy. The Patio includes local residences which adds to the ambiance but does mean you have local kids running around, shouting and screaming until quite late.
Everything! Helpful friendly, staff; clean and stylish rooms and brilliant location just a stone's throw from the viewpoint
- Extremely helpful staff. - Very well-maintained facilities. - The included breakfast is excellent. - Location, location, location! - Great value for the money.
- Our only criticism of Casa do Patio would be the pillows provided in the apartments -- they are not supportive at all. Would have paid a few Euros more a night for nice pillows. This is an easy fix, and would make this the perfect place to stay!
I felt really welcomed at this B&B. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Really clean and nice rooms, very cozy. Nice patio, and GREAT breakfast (they really put an effort at both the Bs, and they are definitely worth it). The wi-fi wasn't working 100% in my room, but that was not a problem, as the patio provided me a great place for getting some work done (and the internet there was good enough). I would recommend this property to anyone - solo travellers, couples, groups of friends, family with kids, young, older, etc. It just provides a great atmosphere for everyone. The location is a bit tricky (look it up on google maps before getting there) and of course, have in mind that it's Lisbon - so expect lots of hills and stairs. Not suitable for people in weelchair or reduced mobility, as the entire "old-ish" Lisbon area. Great location close to Bairro Alto, Chiado, Santa Catarina, and just a tram-ride (or a longer walk) away from Praca do Comercio and Alfama.
I can't complain about anything. It was excellent.
Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed for 3 nights in June in the large family room. The room was very large, well decorated, and bright - just lovely. We loved the large patio in the middle of the B and B and enjoyed eating breakfast (which had a nice variety and was very tasty) there every morning. The staff went out of their way to help us with directions, answer our many questions, and even help us figure out train schedules on line. We hope very much to return one day, as this is a special place to stay. It was also fun to talk with the other guests who were primarily from other European countries.
very good staff, kind, interested, willing to add something special to your journey. Rooms clean, good beds.
Bathroom; really bad shower and bath. very clean though.
Great location, Great breakfast, Lots of room in the hotel room, really friendly and helpful staff.
The staff were very helpful suggesting restaurants, providing directions get around. Our flight from LHR to Lisbon was delayed making us later than the listed check in. Staff phoned us to check all was ok and had no problem waiting until we arrived. The room was very spacious, well fitted out and so wonderfully quiet but still very close to all attractions. Breakfast in the courtyard was a lovely way to start the day. My husband was delighted that espresso coffee was easily available at breakfast. Would love to stay here again.
Slight problem with the internet for a few hours
Extremely friendly staff, very helpful. Great breakfast & service. Very nice rooms, clean, good quality. Patio is great. Small & personal admosphere (take wine etc from the fridge & write your name down). Great location. Great value for money. We stayed with a group of 10 friends, but would also recommend to family with kids. They have great family rooms and you are so close to all the nice area's.
everything was excellent. Would recommend anyone to stay here.
Extremely helpful staff. Great location for sightseeing and night life. But also quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended
When we arrived, we instantly fell in love with this place. The staff were so friendly they offered us cake and coffee and spent some time with us, talking through all the things to do in Lisbon and providing excellent restaurant recommendations and even booking them up for us. All the staff were so friendly and relaxed I would recommend anyone to stay here.
The staff made us feel like favorite family and the breakfast was one of the best we've ever had while traveling. Couldn't have asked for better service.
We got friendly advice from management on arrival on "what to do and see". We were recommended two restaurants, booth personal favorites with the manager. No 1, the local place was closed since several weeks. No 2, the recommended place for Fado turns out they had never had Fado performances.
Clean, comfortable, stylish. Staff very helpful and friendly
Bit hard to find, breakfast a bit meagre
The staffs are very friendly.
1) The location is not very convenient as it's very far from metro stations. It's about 5 min walking distance to the tram 28 stop, however we really hated taking this route 28. It's way too crowded and too infrequent. 2) The room is very very humid because there's no proper ventilation in the bathroom. In the morning we find the entire window was covered by condensation water drops. This gives a very unpleasant smell when you walk in the room.
It was a very short stay (1 night). The hospitality was very good, the appartment is cosy, with a nice view at a very nice neighbourhood. We recommend it!
Very friendly & helpful staff Great breakfast Quiet central location
Neighbourhood is dirty and scruffy, but safe.
Location and atmosphere just perfect. Breakfast was wonderful! Staff so helpful.
In spring, air moisture collecting from river can make living at ground level slightly uncomfortable (misty windows etc.)
On arrival we were offered coffee and a staff member sat with us at the lovely patio area, while talking us through a map of the city. The staff were very informative about places to visit and restaurants to eat in. They do not rush you and will spend plenty of time with you, while you ask questions about places to visit. The breakfast was very good, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice and the lovely cakes. The availability of free tea and coffee at any time was excellent. We had to leave early in the morning for a flight and they left a packed breakfast in the fridge for us to take with us, it was such a lovely gesture. Overall, I would highly recommend this accommodation.
It's a bit tricky to find the first time.
Friendly and excellent staff who helped us organise a Segway tour at the last minute.
The staff were so very helpful And friendly the location was great could not have stay at a better place
The apartment was lovely, very quiet and spacious. The location was great - near to Bairro Alto and with nothing too far away. The subway and the tram were very near. Jessica and Rafael, could not have been more helpful or friendly, greats hosts! The staff was very efficient and friendly. Like the first time we stay, the whole experience was delightful! We would definitely stay again...very soon!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa do Patio. Our room was very comfortable and quite trendy, the breakfast was excellent, the location very convenient and the staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. We were able to have breakfast in the patio which was a lovely start to our day. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Lisbon.
OUTSTANDING! Originally my flight from Paris was supposed to arrive in Lisbon at 7pm and the flight to Rio was to depart from Lisbon at 9am the following day. I made the reservation at Casa do Patio, because I wanted to stay in a cool hip area, where I could enjoy the little time I had in Lisbon, not having to pay a fortune for it. When I made the reservation with Casa do Patio I forewarned them about the late check-in and early check-out to ensure everything was ok. Well, my flight was delayed for 2 hours! So I arrived at the hotel at 10pm! Fabio from the staff was there waiting for me, and trying to call me to make sure I was ok. Not only that he also made me a picnic bag so I could take with me for breakfast the next day, since I was to depart much before their breakfast hours. Considering we arrived there starving, I was worried that we were not going to find a place to have dinner at that late hour... Fabio made sure he walked with us to a little restaurant in the corner called Zapata, and made sure the owner knew we were their guests and needed to eat. 20 min later we were stuffing our faces with some of the best and and cheapest food in Europe! Next day when I arrived home, in Rio, I received an email from the staff to ensure I had made home safe and I was happy with my stay. This is probably the best service I've experienced in a very long time, and it is nice to know that there are companies and people out there in the tourism industry that really DO care about your well being and comfort. I am not sure when I'm going back to Lisbon again, but I definitely KNOW where I will be staying when I do. Thanks again Casa do Pátio, Fabio and all of the staff for making me feel so comfortable and special! You guys rock!
Nothing to do with the hotel, this is more of a warning to travelers taking the taxi from the airport. They will overcharge you for the ride. Be very careful! From Lisbon Airport to Casa do Chiado, it shouldn't cost you more than 20 euro. The hotel is nice enough to put the same warning on the website, but even after reading their warning I was charged double by taxi I took at the airport. This is really a shame, and I hope it gets better. Nothing worse than arriving at a country and the first thing that happens to you is to get robbed.... (I should know better being from Rio, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt... But sometimes it doesn't work out :(
