Just a 5 minute walk from Bairro Alto and Chiado, this small hotel offers spacious and colorful rooms with a flat-screen TV. A homemade breakfast is available in the morning.

Casa do Barão is located in the sophisticated district of Chiado in the centre of Lisbon. This bed and breakfast is set on an 18th century building that was completely refurbished in 2014.

Nothing at all
Location is great without being too central for noise and the staff are so friendly with lots of advice. Would highly recommend staying here!
I felt the price was a little high compared to other places in Lisbon but the location and breakfast probably made up for it.
Place looks very nice with a nice old courtyard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Every morning at breakfast they would ask guests what their plans were and offer suggestions. The breakfast itself was probably the best breakfast I have had in any place I've stayed in (everything is fresh and homemade). It's in a very convenient location (10 min walk to the metro station) and in a very cultural area of town with lots of interesting bars and restaurants.
Bathroom very small and getting really picky here but the pillows were not to my liking.
Location, staff super friendly and helpful, Didn't have the breakfast but it looked amazing.
We needed oven gloves, a plug for the sink and a fitted bed sheet so it didn't keep coming off!
Very friendly staff who could make recommendations and book things for you. Great patio area we could use with beers, water etc.. on site that you could purchase. Pretty good location.
everything is such great and perfect! Strong recommand!
Lovely individual rooms. wifi in rooms friendly, helpful staff good breakfast
We liked this feature but be aware our third floor apartment was up 6 flights of quite narrow wooden stairs.
The staff were very helpful above and beyond what might have been expected. The breakfasts at Casa Patio which you paid for separately from the accommodation, were generous and delicious.
Loved the staff, their friendliness and willingness to help. The property was very quiet and centrally located Would definitely return
Very kind and friendly staff. They allowed me to stay some extra hours in one of the rooms before my flight left, and they treated me very well, offering very nice cakes, coffee etc (out of breakfast time). The place is charming.
The bathroom, and particularly the shower, were rather on the small size. We are quite big people and like big bathrooms! Breakfast coffee (Cona) could have been better. I do not like Portuguese (custard) pastries, so for much of the time we breakfasted out, but this was no reflection on the hotel or its food.
Our Ryanair flight arrived shortly before midnight, so the hotel sent a taxi to pick us up - this was essential as we would probably have had great difficulty finding it for the first time at a very late hour. We expected to pay a surcharge for arriving after 21.00, but I think this was waived. It was lovely to have a spacious sitting room for reading and relaxing after exploring the city and the multilingual manager and his staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Delicious fresh orange juice for breakfast.
The bed was soft, and the exposed sharp corner of the bed frame wounded my leg a bit when I passed by. So be careful. The stairs are really narrow, but fortunately we had just one small suitcase. The internet connection was slow.
The room is big, clean and comfortable, we could see the "Cristo Rei" from the window. Location is good, walking distance to the traditional tram line No. 28. The staff was nice and helpful.
The staff helped us to plan trips and recommended excellent places to eat and drink. They even booked us tables at a restaurant. They couldn't have been more helpfull.
Only problem was..you could hear the shower in the next door room.Only a problem if the other guest had an early check out.
If we had to pick anything, we would say that there were a few shady characters on the walk from town back to the casa at night and the wi-fi occasionally didn't work, but these were very minor points and did not affect how much we loved our stay at all.
The staff & their recommendations, the breakfast, the atmosphere...everything really!
In February our room was very cold and the air was very humid. We arrived late, so the air con didn't dry the air properly on our first night. The bathroom was icy, the floors really cold - I was freezing the whole time. It would have been great to come into a dry and warm room. Following nights were OK.
Great hosts, super helpful recommendations and fantastic location. Overall a great place to stay.
Bed mattress is not super soft but everything else makes up for it.
The staff here are amazing, so friendly and helpful. As it was our first time to Lisbon they took the time to sit down with us and highlight areas to visit on the map, provided dinner recommendations etc. Great range of food at Breakfast, we especially enjoyed the home cooked Portuguese delights. Room was decorated nicely and WIFI worked perfectly. Great location for catching Tram 28 and can easily walk to the Metro.
Having to leave. There was nothing I didn't like about this property. It's a lovely community style B&B with character and a good vibe. Opposite to a hotel chain which I find impersonal and sterile.
The personal attention provided by the staff made our stay extra memorable as they offered inside tips that don't come from travel blogs or books. Their recommendations were always spot on.
Helpful staff Excellent breakfast Good WiFi
it was tough for me because I use a cane and the area was difficult to walk especially when raining, the cobblestones very slick.
Loved the staff, Rafael, John, Constencia, Maggie, Ceceilia, Linda, Sofia, all exceptional customer care professionals, incredible attitudes, the breakfast great, the location phenomenal, all excellent. very special place in our world. great recommendations by John and Rafael and Sofia. you will ove this place, s and j
location, decoration, fantastic breakfast
Maybe a usable mirror in the bedroom
From the moment you arrive you are treated like family, the staff are so so helpful. Their local knowledge of places to visit and eat is excellent, the famous tram 28 stops about a 3 min walk away, the whole area is wonderful, the guesthouse is tucked away in the back streets making it a quite location but any where you want to go is a short stroll away and local transport is excellent ,just buy a transport card as its great value and can be used on most modes of transport. If I return to Lisbon I would always stay here.
The welcome The help The home from home feeling
Bathroom - Very little space to put toiletries on. Step up to toilet location.
Friendly helpful staff in recommending reasonably priced delicious meals at nearby restaurant; and in advising best routes to walk to sight or which Metro, bus or train to take. Free internet with computer in lobby. Nice to have kitchen with dishes, fridge, sink, stove top & counter. Delicious homemade desserts with variety of other foods for breakfast buffet.
Please consider with the apartments on the 4th floor that in addition to not having a lift, the building is situated on a big hill. Coming and going was a workout! Carrying luggage up was difficult, but Jessica kindly helped. The hot water was spotty in the shower. It worked best when I ran the tap in the kitchen til it became warm and then turned the shower on. It was a waste of water, but I can't handle a cold shower!
The apartments were well-equipped and clean. My parents stayed in one, and my boyfriend and I in the other. The proximity to the Bairro Alto and Chiado neighborhoods is great. The staff were friendly and helpful and they even have a common area stocked with snacks, wine, beer, and cakes. We asked if they had any garlic and Jessica went out and bought it for us since they had none. That was super sweet of her. The apartments are quiet and have a WONDERFUL view.
