Warm welcome from staff, spacious rooms, central location and excellent value. Not my first stay and definitely not my last.

We were given a suite of rooms

Smell of drains coming from bathroom. Restaurant!!!! And microwaved food on Sunday night.

quiet, comfortable, spacious room, with balcony overlooking the river, free parking, the location, in the park and very central.

breakfast is not a buffet but ham, cheese, juice, bread, jam, yogurt and tea served at your table. Perfectly adequate.

English conversations with the front-desk was a problem sometimes

Staff very friendly and a very warm welcome.

Nice central location. Free wifi.

Expensive parking. Noisy because youngsters usually walk the narrow streets talking loud.

Wonderful chocolat houses in the neighbourhood as well as egg Aveiro sweets. Very quite, centre of the town, no cars circulation. Recommen.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful

The parking. You have to insert coin until 20h (better at 19:55) or you have to get up before 8h in the morning...

The location

The level of customer service is poor. Some of the receptionists do not even make any effort to speak in english, despite the fact that on the hotel's website it is stated that staff speaks in english. In addition they have tendency to be impatient and impolite. Excactly the same attitude you can find amongst the cleaners. Our bathroom was not cleaned and the lady was trying to convince us in portuguese that the stains inside the toilet are unremovable and there is nothing that she can do about that. In additon - the quality and hygiene standards in the hotel's restaurants are far from acceptaable. During our breakfast there were few flies flying aroud the room and staff was ignoring this fact completely, moreover as the food was not covered at all we found some of the flies in the milk and the cereals! To sum up - Aveiro is a great place to visit but do not choose this hotel!

Location, staff, breakfast, value for money

It is hard to say what was best as everything was perfect. We were given a room on fifth floor with a wonderful view over Aveiro. With a garage nearby,and a charming Aveiro around us, we felt really spoiled. We can recommend Imperial hotel most warmly. Merete Schwensen

Wifi not so good.

We stayed in the Hotel Imperial for two nights. When getting ready for bed on the first night my wife notice some animal hairs on the bed. When we complained the management acted quickly, moving us to another room (actually a suite) within minutes. While it was inexcusable to put us in a room that had not been properly cleaned, the reaction to our complaint cannot be faulted. As to the hotel itself, it is well situated close to the city centre. The rooms are good. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel has a restaurant that appeared to be good, although we did not eat there. The deskman suggested another restaurant for what we wanted to eat (eel stew, a local speciality).

The only disadvantage of this hotel is that it has no parking and nearby on-street parking is difficult to find and expensive. The tourist bureau told us about a free parking area that is about 10 minutes walk away.

Big, spacious room, very clean. Served breakfasts were very tasty and big enough for our grown up kids.

The only problem with English speaking staff- knowledge of English was just basic

Very good location in the heart of Aveiro. Nice end helpful Staff. Good restaurant offers tasty seefood and good wine. Room looks a bit oldschool.

Awful smell in the bathroom - serious problem with sewage system ventilation probably

The Imperial Hotel has a huge room - what gets to be a blessing for those who are going on vacation for several hotels, much more precarious. The major advantages of stays were is the breakfast wonderful, perfectly capable of replacing lunch, and being very near the center.

The staff is very impersonal. The guy who carried the bags made ​​direct criticisms to our country (Brazil) said that there were only thieves (which is not true) and that my city (Sao Paulo), one of the most developed world, is horrible. Okay that is his opinion, but he was extremely rude.

This is a very nice hotel in the heart of Aveiro, within walking distance of the train station and the University. Although old, the building is well maintained and the rooms are clean. Staff is very helpful, too. Excellent value for money.

Beds could be a little more comfortable- but still, I had no problem sleeping.
