Good location, although upon the hill, nice view, polite and hostable receptionists, very clean.
Good location, nice stuff.
Too hard matress, not so fresh room and smell
Nice part of Lisbon (near Beira Alta) Good breakfast
The hotel is in a non0descript building without charm or beauty
staff speaks fluent english nice view (top floor bedroom) a complementary welcoming drink at checkin in lobby
airco was a bit noisy bathroom sink was clogged
Location was not bad.
Room was extremaly hot and air condition was hardly cooling any air. Need service.
We found Hotel Botanico to be very well located for our trip to Lisbon. Staff were very pleasant and had good English.
Wi-Fi was somewhat poor at times
Staff were helpful and it was a clean place to stay
Nothing - all good.
great location, extremely clean, welcome drink and snacks
neighborhood was loud, breakfast not included
The staff was very helpful.
This was a 3x4 mt room just barely large enough for a 140 cm bed. The OPEN toilet was in front of the bed (Where else?). There is too much hype on internet about this hotel. The photos they show only represent the best of what they have. The mediocre is much more. It makes one think their own people are placing reviews. On a base of 10 would not give more a 5.0 mark.....
I liked the location of the hotel, breakfast, staff.
I had a friend visiting me at the hotel, and we stayed in my room for a couple of hours. The person at the reception was asking my other friends who I was with. I thought it's a rather personal question who I was with in my room and for how long. It was inappropriate. I booked a room for 3 people, but only two people were staying there. So I think I had a right to have my friend over for a couple of hours in my room. We hadn't seen each other for a long time and were just talking.
Hotel Botanico offers rooms at a great rate and provides solid services. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are not big by any means, but as travelers we were really only in our rooms to shower and sleep. The bathrooms are the best part of the room, modern and nice.
As with other European hotels I have been to, the electricity in the rooms only turns on when you insert your room key. This means that while you are out you cannot run the air conditioning, making the room very warm when you get back. You may be able to ask for a second room key and leave one in the room, but I would assume the extra electricity charges could potentially be added to your bill.
The location is very good
Location, cleanliness, staff.
Lack of balcony, weak wi-fi.
- location - friendly staff
- the room is really small - it was extremely hot in the room, even hotter than outside in the streets where it was 28°C. I had to sleep with the airco on 19°C - the room was next to the elevator, and was really noisy. Both inside noise and outside noise were not blocked. - the view of the room was horrible, a chimney of some factory - the elevator made me fail claustrofobic. It could fit just 1 person and its suitcase, and even than it was tight...
Very good value hotel. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. I would stay here again.
I just gave a try when I asked for a room with a view. After arriving we realised that we got the top floor room with a panoramic view on the city. I loved it! Thanks Hotel Botanico!
Good breakfasts, modern bathroom
Shabby bedroom, curtains in need of replacement, worn carpet
Good location, some TV channels in English, excellent desk staff who helped us plan metro/train routes to the beach
Stains on carpet, staff ignored "Do Not Disturb" sign twice
The wi-fi works well.
The location was outside of the principal avenue. It was a little bit caotic furniture and the room was very small.
Reasonably priced, clean, comfortable room with a very friendly staff. Together the staff speaks at least five languages and English is one of those. The hotel is located a little out of the city center which was a positive aspect for us. Yet there is a bus stop and metro stop minutes away. It took only 10-15 minutes to walk to the city center. The breakfast buffet was good. There were many options. There is a bar in the hotel which serves drinks and a few sandwiches.
There is a large hill that leads to the hotel from the main street. If you are not prepared for this, you may want to take a taxi to the hotel.
Very comfortable hotel with great location and friendly staff. I would highly recommend.
Comfortable and reasonably close to metro. English speaking staff.
A bit of a hill up to hotel ok for fit travelers. Room a tad small.
