This pension is located in the Peneda-Gerês National Park and offers rooms with views of Gerês village or the mountains. The restaurant overlooks the forest with its many chestnut trees. Pensão Carvalho Araújo has cozy rooms with red-colored bedspreads. Each has satellite TV, a telephone and a private bathroom with shower. Breakfast at the Carvalho Araújo consists of fresh croissants, cake and juices. The Portuguese dishes served in the restaurant are traditionally prepared on a wood stove. The living room with its fireplace and TV offers a cozy setting for a late-night chat. When weather is nice, guests can enjoy some fresh forest air with a drink on the terrace. The owner was extremely hospitable and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The hotel was very clean and had a great downstairs bar and lounge area. Great value for the money. The parking garage was a little bit more complicated than I would I have liked.

The staff speak English, they gave us better information and maps about the Natural Park than the official information office of the np. Normal breakfast - nothing unexpected (bread, butter, cheese & ham - just one kind, jam & honey).

Free private parking, decoration and the excellent location. The owner’s help and its recommendations of the places to visit were just priceless. Noise from corridor and no air-conditioning.

Nice friendly service and good location. Pleasant common areas. Beds and pillows were rather small and it has no air-conditioning which proved to be needed since it was very hot.

The hotel is in a very nice house and the decoration is fine. The breakfast room is very nice too. The personel is very kind. The balcony on the room is very convenient for relaxing.The garage is free. There is no air conditionning which requires to leave the window open at night. The Geres city is very small and has a high concentration of clubs. This induces some noise which is a bit annoying. Some appliances did not work (the bedlight, the light on the balcony).

if you want to visit Gerês this house is a good place to stay. Very nice staff and the house is very nice. the cleaning of the bedroom wasn't perfect. I had to kill some spiders my self.

Cozy and clean room, good location, nice staff and excellent view of the mountain. Poor insulated room (we could hear the next door guest snoring). Our visit was in the lower season and the hotel was almost empty. Imagine how it would be in the high season.

La relación calidad-precio es muy buena. La terraza de la habitación, así como el comedor tiene unas vistas fantásticas a la montaña. La chimenea encendida a la entrada resulta muy agradable. Han sido muy, muy atentos al dejarnos utilizar su ordenador. Un recepcionista nos explicó perfectamente lo q podíamos visitar en la zona. Lo único mejorable sería el interior del armario de la habitación, es empotrado y no está bien rematado.

O atendimento, a disponibilidade, a franqueza, a limpeza e a qualidade das instalações. Para além disso, numa zona com dificuldades de estacionamento, dispõe de um grande parque privado, fechado e coberto. A sala de convívio é excepcional.

O quarto era agradável, apesar de pequeno, e limpo, assim como as zonas comuns. As toalhas eram extremamente duras, a minha bebé até se queixou quando a limpei. O poliban era extremamente apertado, se me mexia mais um pouco interferia logo na torneira. A cama não é muito confortável, as almofadas são de fraca qualidade e o berço de viagem era muito duro, deviam comprar um colchão extra se não pensam em investir num berço normal. Esperava melhor, porque a casa é muito bonita.

El trato recibido, muy familiar y acogedor. Admiten mascotas y el garaje cerrado una ventaja importante a la hora de dejar el coche a la sombra un día de sol y calor. Su ubicación hace que tenga unas vistas privilegiadas al pueblo. La cercanía a rutas de interés dentro del parque peneda-xures.
