Very friendly and helpful staff, the place was gorgeous like out of a story book

distance from town and coffee shops, if we didn't have a car it wouldn't have worked for us

GREAT getaway close To the City and very relaxing!

Once you find the place you realize it is very close to the highway and therefore easy to you as a central base for trips in the area. There is a nice lounge with a wood stove. The grounds are very lovely and the walls of the building are made of stone and at least a foot wide.

Took about 20 minutes of running the water for the hot water to come on. Luckily there is no water shortage in this area.

Very helpful People, very nice houses and garden. I would like to come back!

These self catering studios are spacious , very comfortable and set in beautiful grounds. The family / staff are very helpful and accommodating and the lcation on the edge of the town is excellent. There is also a large hypermarket open 7 days per week very close for all the shopping should you choose to cook in- facilities are excellent , though the access to the studios would not suit people with mobility problems. We loved the place and would recommend it to anyone keen to explore the region from a relaxing and quiet base , with major town facilities nearby.

These are not dislikes but points that could be improved- the cooking area could be better lit - the location is not easy to find - directions could be improved.

Inès and Laura are the most friendly hosts! We feel like a home.

We stayed in the small houses that are scattered around the property. The small houses are charming and recently renovated. The location inside the property givesw the impression that you are in a small village in the mountains. However you are only 2 km away from the center of Vila Real! Children will like the open spaces around the houses. It is possible to walk around the property. Excellent location! Although booking does not refer the breakfast, the reality is that we have a breakfast pach inside the house and everyday in the morning fresh bread is delivered to every guest. Finally, friendship of everybody working in Casa Agricola da Levada is also a plus! We liked it very much.

The road leading to the houses is not very well preserved and you should expect a few bumps. It is not very convenient if you have a sports car! However you may think of it as another different experience!

Simply amazing! Beautiful estate and rooms. we had the studio and it had the best equipped kitchen I've seen. The staff were friendly and very helpful, there are excellent dining, hiking and shopping opportunities nearby, although the property itself is serene.

The staff was awesome and so friendly.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown to our room, which was very comfortable. The local restauran, was only a 5minute walk, torch provided by owner, the food was excellent. House of Mateus was ony a short drive away and well worth visiting.

A really special experience. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main house. A little dark, as it is on the north side of the building, but cool. Our host, Ines, was very charming and helpful; she made us feel like one of the family. She had great suggestions for activities during our trip. The wine is good (and cheap!) and the breakfast was more than adequate with some fresh baked goodie every day. The whole atmosphere of the place is welcoming. We could see just veging there for days. Next time!

It's too bad that the city has encroached on the property so much. Hopefully when the A road is complete some of the nearby traffic will go away. Once on the property, however, it's like a different world.

We have been very surprised by the beauty of the place. Well equiped, warmfull welcome by the owner, very discrete and full of attention at the same time. A place for relaxation, romance and a place to enjoy during holidays. Recommanded to everyone who like nature and charming environment with original restauration of little houses. A very quiet and secure place ensuring privacy. The owner named Inès is a very charming person, delicate, very discrete and professionnal with a great sense of human being ensuring the fact that you will remember your stay at her house. This place was beyond charming. It is a little out of town but if you are staying here you have a car & that makes the location great. Carmen is the perfect host. She made us feel at home, relaxed & got us laughing. She gave us great directions & suggestions. We had an excellent fresh breakfast in a most charming farmhouse dining room. We also took a tour of the grounds - which are beautiful. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay more days! Apparently the owner is the daughter of the family that owns Palacio de Mateus - absolutely worth visiting, taking a house & garden tour, followed by an informative wine & port tasting.

Pas facile à trouver

Un hôtel dans une quinta au milieu des camélias et des cèdres dans un centre ville... L'hôtel est de toute beauté avec tout le confort et le calme. Le personnel est accueillant et souriant, prêt à répondre à toutes vos questions aussi bien en anglais qu'en français. Le petit déjeuner était très convivial et délicieux avec des confitures maison. Une adresse à ne pas rater si vous allez voir le palais Mateus

Il faisait encore frais en mai et nous n'avons pas pu profiter de la piscine dans un cadre remarquable...
