Everything! The helpful staff, breakfast, the comfortable beds/great linens, the neighborhood!
Can't think of one thing
Staff and owners were incredibly nice and helpful. The room and breakfast among the nicest ever in a B&B. The location was sooo romantic, with a little park, 2 museums and the funkiest tiny cocktail lounge next store. Not to missed.
Casa Amora was great! Hands down the friendliest service I have ever had in the 20 some countries I've been to. The manager showed us all of the great places to go and made our vacation 100x better.
The creepy picture of the old lady in the room we stayed... Only bad thing I can say.
The room/studio The staff The breakfast Actually.... i liked everyting!!
Luis looked after us like we were members of his own family, he is so passionate and gave us great recommendations and tips for things to do. You wouldn't get that in a bigger hotel. The atmosphere of the place is lovely as well - relaxing, lovely architecture and beautiful, well thought out interior design. We stayed in the biggest studio, it was lovely to have your own front door and a big space to chill out in for an hour or two before heading out for the evening. We were so well looked after, this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
That we had to leave, and that we didnt get chance to sample the wines in the honesty bar!
Casa Amora We recently spent five days at Casa Amora and it’s a wonderful, wonderful place. Luis, the co-owner, is a perfect host: fluent in English (and, from the sound of it, French as well!), keen to suggest places of interest to you personally, knowledgeable and funny. The area the place is located in - Rato - is walking distance from the centre of town - maybe half an hour down to the seafront - but is lovely in its own way. The little kiosk cafe in the local park, in the shadow of the aqueduct, is a wonderful down-home local place to hang out and soak up the atmosphere. There are plenty of decent places to eat just minutes away and the breakfast is a delight: plenty of home cooking, daily surprises and excellent coffee! The rooms are really nicely done and the whole place has been put together by a keen eye. Highly recommended!
We were made to feel very much at home. Excellent advice was given regarding dining options, bars and where to get the best Pastel de Natas!
A lovely, unique and quiet place to stay away from the busy tourist areas yet very accessible to everything as the metro is close by. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts served in the courtyard and loved our cosy, comfortable room with kitchenette. Most of all Juan & Luis are so welcoming and exceptionally helpful - thank you so much to both of them.
After last year's wonderfull stay with friends at casa Amora I returned this year with my oldest son and was warmly welcomed back by Luis and Juan. Their hospitality, the beautifully furnished rooms and the yummie breakfast exceed all expectations.
Breakfast was great in a beautiful setting.
Loved pretty much everything about this place, from the funky themed rooms to the lovely courtyard garden. The breakfasts were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for Juan
It is a bit out of the old centre but the location itself is very nice and the metro is convenient and cheap
It was a very charming guest house with a lovely patio to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening and to have breakfast in the morning. Juan, the manager, was very helpful at suggesting where to go & what to see, & how to get there & be safe.
Casa Amora is right across the street from a very noisy restaurant that doesn't open until 9:00pm & closes around 3:00am. Needless to say we did not get much sleep since we normally go to bed around 11:00pm. Location was a little out of the way but their public transportation if you know what train or bus to take will get you where you want to go.
I felt right at home as soon as I arrived at Casa Amora. This is not only because Juan is a fellow South African, but because of the genuine warmth we were received and made to feel welcome. We received a welcome drink and info pack about Lisbon. The duplex studio we rented was not only beautiful, but excellent value for money. The location is great, near Rato metro station within reach of all the tourist sights, but also more in a quieter, residential area. Nearby is a supermarket and Avis car rental was not even 10 minutes walking distance from there. Over 5 days (in the beginning and end of our trip), we stayed in three different rooms, all great! Breakfast here is fabulous and all of the staff is friendly and very helpful. Juan assisted with lost luggage, calling taxis etc. Will recommended Casa Amora without hesitation!
the apartment the excellent staff very friendly always available the home made breakfast the quiet neighbourhood close to a metro station
the bathrooms could be bigger but that was a very minor issue
The location of Casa Amora is perfect in a quiet area of the city, but a short stroll to the Metro Station (Rota) - The owner and manager are great hosts, full of local knowledge and advice about the city, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast is magnificent, home made juices, savouries and cakes. I would not hesitate to recommend to others.
Leaving after only a two night stay!!
Fantastic host; very personal; all staff very friendly and helpful; a lot of attention given to detail to make the guest feel comfortable and welcome.
Fantastic place, amazing breakfast. The staff is always available to serve and the good vibe is all around
Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Right when we arrived, they gave us an extensive review of the main attractions that we should see. We went to most of the places they highlighted, and we did not regret it.
The hosts were absolutely amazing! Thanks for all the city-explaining and the good recommendations you gave us!
Casa Amora is a wonderful place to stay, the decor is lovely- portuguese crockery in the kitchen, the location excellent and breakfast really good. Most of all Juan was an excellent, friendly and knowledgable host. It was a pleasure to stay and I hope to go back soon.
Friendly and helpful staff Beautifully decorated room Delicious breakfast Clean and well maintained Close to metro Close to supermarket
An amazing and warm reception upon our arrival with a gracious a introduction to all of the available amenities....and there are many! Juan goes out of his way to make you truly feel like a guest in his home, including 24/7 access to fresh fruit, beverages both cold and hot. Breakfast was sumptuous and served in a sweet little garden that has coverings for inclement weather. Special consideration was given to my daughter who is a vegetarian and the fresh squeezed juices were fabulous. Best of all was Juan's incredible skill at negotiating with car rental agencies as well as his ready advice for sites to see along with the best way to accomplish whatever your goals for the day were. He spent literally HOURS on the phone to help iron out a reservation glitch and simply would not give up until he succeeded. He has been told in the past that he could easily be the concierge in a four star hotel---I couldn't agree more!
A neighbor's barking dog was a bit disruptive but the owner took matters under control when informed. Arrive early for breakfast as some of the best freshly baked yummies get snatched up.
Vrie Frinendly people tHat did their utmost to make you feel the guest! Nice chamber, clean and cosey, perfect breakfast with plenty of fruit and homemade sweets
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed. Breakfast is not to be missed. Owners are very passionate about their job which elevates your experience. I strongly recommend all small hotel owners to visit this place and take it as best practice example.
We stayed in the for two evenings and couldn't believe how hospitable the service was. Being at the Optimus Alive concert in Lisbon, we hadn't the energy to wake up early enough for breakfast, and the Property Manager had brought breakfast over to us! Two trays of assorted meats, cheeses, fruits etc. It was unbelievable. Highly recommended!
