We had such a good time here, the family at Casa Cimeira was sincere in their interaction and were genuinely interested in knowing more about their guest culture and experiences. They were absolutely warm and hospitable in ever sense of the word. They were courteous and went above and beyond to serve the needs of their clients. This include making a sumptuous breakfast, heating the warm fire place and even serving their own home-made Port wine from their vineyard as a welcome gesture. The owner's son, Miguel even gave us a tour of their vineyard operations late into the night. We were back here for sure!
The family was SO welcoming The room was spacious (we had 3 separate rooms and we just got a standard one) Dinner was amazing (one of the best meals we had on our trip!) The sitting area with the fireplace, drinking port that they made and chatting with other guests was a great experience
Since the bedroom area is so big, it got a little chilly! (First world problems, I guess)
Very nice house, great food, great Porto and a very warm welcoming.
Very enjoyable stay. The hosts were great and really helpful. Home cooked dinner really good. Would highly recommend staying here.
Maria and Arthur are the best hostess ever! Their Port vine is excellent and everyone should taste Maria's food once in a life! Ask for the dinner!
I loved my stay. The owners were welcoming and accommodating. The dinner I had was wonderful. It was shared with the other guests, which was really nice. The bed was comfortable. The place was clean.
The hosts. Views. Food. Wine. Port. Fireplace.

Very Cozy and "warm" place. The hosts are very welcoming people. Maria serves very good dinners every day, her husband serves very good home made wine. definately recommended.
We arrived on a cold rainy afternoon, and were welcomed with a glass of "Porto de Casa" and a warm fire to sit in front of! We were then asked, and chose to have a delicious home cooked dinner - a must at 15 Euros including wine, soup, a full dinners and homemade desserts as well! If your travels bring you to this area, you must stay at Casa Cimeira!
Fantastic hosts whose only desire is that you are taken care of. Welcomed with a glass of Port wine from their own vineyard. The opportunity to dine together with the rest of the guests made for a wonderful international night. If the hosts offer to make you dinner, take the offer!! ....Amazing home cooking and plenty of wine from their own vineyard at an unbelievably inexpensive price. The lack of English spoken by the hosts was great for us so we could practice the Portuguese we have been studying.
The Casa could be a bit hard to find the first time. Follow the signs in town and not a gps. This is not a negative but a reality in many European towns.
Everything is beautiful here. The owners of the place are wonderful and welcoming. Great wine with family style dinner. Top notch!
That we had to leave. No complaints at all.
We enjoyed very much our stay. Arturo was really kind and he makes a great wine, Lus was like a mum and cooks like an angel. The place is a very suitable spot for a long stay in order to visit cellars. We deeply recommend it.
A beautiful location overlooking the Douro valley, a 200 year old house with lots of charm and atmosphere. The hosts were very friendly and cooked a tasty Portuguese dinner, taken at the big table together with other guests. Spacious rooms, a surprise was the comfort shower in the antique bathroom.
We stayed one night at the Casa Cimeira, which was one the nicest places during our trip. The owners were really nice people and the place was both relaxing and beautiful. We liked their wines (red, white and port) that had high Douro quality. The mother of the family cooked a splendid fish dinner for the quest. An excellent meal! I think Casa Cimeira is an excellent place for a stay. Pinhao and Peso da Regua are both close and it suits well for longer stays. Unfortunately we stayed there only one day. We will definitively stay there as well on our next Douro valley trip.
Nothing to complain. Absolute perfect!
Maria and Arturo were marvelous and though they spoke no English and we spoke no Portuguese we communicated well. Our room was beautiful. We had dinner here and the meals were fabulous and so much fun to dine with other guests. LOVED IT HERE! Thanks so much for the wonderful stay.
Very friendly owners who couldn't have been more helpful.
The home cooked dinner and breakfasts from Maria and her family were amazing, as are the rooms
It's a small quiet village (which is also a plus). Best to get to if you have a car (and the roads are very steep and windy).
From the moment you walk into the courtyard you are treated with the most gracious Portuguese hospitality. Absolutely amazing nights are spent with the host family during which all the guests sit around a big dinner table and are treated to three courses of wonderful food, and the family's homemade wines, ports. Excellent location up on a hill with a viewpoint towards the douro river and vineyard terraces. Breakfast is also amazing quality with fresh baked breads, homemade jams, local meats and cheeses and the most delicious coffee! Such a wonderful experience, to feel the real spirit of rural Portugal and spend many nights of laughter with other guests from all different countries!
Very tricky to locate at night as the roads are small and windy, although there are plenty of signs once you reach the top of valenca do douro (the hilltop town in which the guesthouse is located).
Fabulous views, road up rather windy but worth the trip. Wonderful food both dinner and breakfast. Sitting down to eat at the big table with other guests, special. Incredible hosts. Hope we visit again one day
Amazing house . The owners are very worm and friendly . The food is great and wine keeps on coming in
Large rooms, excelent food, top service, great view. We visited other hotels at region, even more fancy. Casa Cimeira is the best one
Nothing. Dona Maria da Luz is great host and chef. Dont go to other place, stay with her, you wont regret.
No English - so no advice on sights and excursions in the area.
You arrive and are welcomed into the family with port. Easy to get to by taxi for €13 and well worth it. The food is delicious, breakfast a feast, beds amazing, rooms like suites. peaceful, tranquil and beautiful.
The second room we had was very good. The food was of a good home cooking standard with plenty of it.
The first room was very small. We were given this because there was something wrong with another room. We moved after one night. On our next night the room was not cleaned which we found unusual
