This spot was one of our favorites of the whole trip. The view and beauty were amazing. So charming to stay at this place up next to the old fort and to walk the cobblestone roads to take in the white washed buildings all around us. The owners were so nice and own a little bar across the road, which was perfect to take in the sunset.

Hard to get to, but so worth it. Just know it is truly up in the hill in the middle of the old ancient town of Marvao.

The village and it's history; the hotel location relative to the astounding views and the castle; the quaintness of the facility yet well equipped and comfortable. Very helpful staff. wonderful breakfast, and dinner at Varanda do Alentejo offered great choices and superb cuisine. Great value for the price.

    There was nothing to dislike.

The most beautiful and fantasy-like stay of our half-month in Spain and Portugal. Marvao and Dom Dinis are superbly memorable.

Not really much choice for food in the neighborhood.

beautiful setting in medieval walled village complete with castle to look round two minutes walk from hotel. Swallows flying above your head till dusk added to the feeling of looking down on the world below - Marvao is on a hill which overlooks miles of plains and over to the Spanish border. Jorge on reception and serving in the bar spoke great English and was very welcoming, couldn't have been more helpful

The village of Marvao is highly recommended if you are travelling in this part of Portugal and if you visit Marvao there is possibly no better place to stay than the Dom Dinis particularly if you book a room with a balcony overlooking the valley.

There is nothing negative one could say about this hotel. It is a very cute hotel in an extremely attractive hilltop walled village. Quite unique for Portugal.

Marvão is wonderful. The views in Marvão over the countryside around are devine. Dom Dinis is located in the best spot with the best views of Marvão. If you can, get a room with a view, or even the one with the private balcony! Rooms are very nice, clean and all necessities are present. Jorge is a very nice host and very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Just a heads-up for whom it concerns: there's no elevator. Those that have difficulties finding the place: learn to work with your gps/satnav and/or learn to read signs. It's the highest point of a medieval town, so just keep going up or follow "castelo".
