|Casa do Barão is located in the sophisticated district of Chiado in the centre of Lisbon. This bed and breakfast is set on an 18th century building that was completely refurbished in 2014.||
54 Santa Catarina Apartments features luxurious and bright accommodation, 800 metres from Chiado, Lisbon's downtown area. Popular Bairro Alto is 650 metres away from the apartments and studios.

Great place, location, value for money
That I stayed only one night
The location makes exploring Lisbon so tempting. You realize there are so many museums, little shops, lookout points and cafes that most people miss. it is so easy to get stuck in Chiado or Belem, this made it easy to see a whole different way of living.
The recommended restaurant at the sister hotel The service was slow and the meat entries were cold.
very freindly and helpfull stuff, nice decoration, location is about 15 minutes walk from Bairro alto, towels-heater in the bathroom (!!). we left before breakfast so Joao left us a morning snack in the fridge! coffe and tea available in the reception and we also got a piece of home-made cake.
usualy it supposed to be above our budget. (we got there off season).
Most parts of the city are in walking distance. Welcoming staff, giving us a complete briefing of Lisbon upon arrival.
Hotel is in a residential part where 'non-res' cars are not permitted. If you arrive by car go straight to the "Parque de Estacionamento da Calçada do Combro" garage, €13 p/d and 5 - 10 min walking to the hotel.
Staff are friendly, helpful & very knowledgeable. Speak many languages. Rooms are very nice & roomy overall with excellent beds. Includes an excellent breakfast as well Location is a short walk to waterfront and all transit lines etc. Area around B&B looks suspect but is typical of lot's of Lisbon & is undergoing ongoing renovations as well. Would definitely stay with any of the Shiadu properties. They have several more nearby & in Porto.
The location is fairly central and close to good bars and restaurants plus good rail/metro links to rest of city. The rooms were very comfortable and decent sized beds. I would certainly visit again.
Area looked a bit run-down, lots of buildings were being re-developed. This was not helped by the grafitti sprayed on many buildings
Very close to many sights, and an easy walk to the water front.
The location is a bit tricky to find. And upon checkout we had to leave super early to catch a flight so they told us that they would prepare something and leave for us in the fridge, which we thought was a nice touch and then they forgot. Also they had called and arranged for a cab to pick us up however gave no name and on the receipt it didn't list which location, so the driver was waiting at their other property up the road. When we wandered up and spoke to him he was very upset at having to wait and angry at the confusion of which location. With overall a great stay it was to bad to leave this way.
Big nice room with big bed and comfortable pillows. Big bathroom and very nice breakfast with fresh orange juice and fruits, selection of home made bakery and selection of coffee. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to main attractions.
There are construction works going in couple of houses nearby and although they did not ruin your sleep it changed atmosphere close to slum.
Lovely Portuguese cakes and pancakes. We enjoyed this before having a great introduction to the city by the staff which was fantastically helpful.
We loved our stay in Lisbon. We chose this place based on great reviews and now we can say that it is no surprise the hotel got trip advisor's award in 2013. Our room was lovely, very tastefully decorated. Every detail and accent of decor was aesthetically pleasing. The staff was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly, they anticipated our needs and gave very good tips about restaurants and sightseeing. Upon arrival they treated us to coffee and cake, while showing us the map of Lisbon. Breakfast was home-made and delicious with lots of choices. We were sad to leave. We would stay here again and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Good location in the centre of Lisbon. It is a nice place to stay with friendly staff. There was a problem with our booked room, but they offered us an excellent alternative!
If by car you will need to park in a P garage. However this is Lisbon centre. :)
Delicious breakfast Staff were willing to help with sights to see and restaurants to eat at Clean and comfortable accommodation
Taxi driver had difficult time finding the place
- very friendly service, - very much at your disposal to give tips and advise on whatever in Lissabon, - a superbe breakfast, - central location (with a great view from Miradouro St Catarina over Rio Tejo at just 5 min's walk), - wooden staircase and retro style pieces of furniture with paintings or pieces of decoration, - possibility to have a gourmet dinner in their restaurant at Monte Belvedere (with a georgious view!)
- difficult to really find something negative to comment... if you like a good coffee, then ask an espresso / cafe au lait prepared separately instead serving from the thermos jug - as a tip: print the driving indications for the taxi driver (also available in Portuguese) from Shiadu Guesthouse's internet site, they were of great help for our taxi driver!
The hotel is cosy, staff is helpful, good location and the best is the homemade breakfast!! Although I must say coffee wasn't that good...
The bathroom was smelly and shower cleaning wasn't to the highest standard. Also, few plugs around the room
Very friendly feel. Great location.
We really loved Lisbon. We thought the area was very interesting, the people were freindly and helpful. It is a very unique City. There is lots to see and do, the restaurants we went to were wonderful, we loved the food wine, atomosphere. It's one of our favourite holidays. The accommodation was really good, very clean. All of the staff were very helpful, interested that you were having a good time and making the most of your trip. I enjoyed being able to have a bottle of wine or some snacks to take to our room and the breakfasts were wonderful. We will definately be recommending Lisbon and Caso do Bairro to all of our friends and relatives. We would definately return.
We were very impressed with the staff especially Sophia who went out of her way to assist us. Breakfast was excellent, rooms were very clean. Would stay here again ..
Everything was perfect. Great staff, very clean bedroom/bathroom....Strongly recommended place.
Nothing at all
Fantastic staff, delicious breakfast, perfect location and lovely room.
Amazing place!! Perfect location, super clean and excellent staff.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Good location, very hilly, but that's Lisbon! I would definitely recommend this B&B
Casa do Bairro is the most user friendly place we have stayed in. Its approach and exterior gave us pause, but beyond that magic door in the shabby wall is an oasis of comfort and friendship. Our room was spacious and welcoming and the charming staff (in our case Rita and Joao) went out of their way to be perfect hosts and informative guides to the city. They did this in way that made us feel relaxed and at home. A wonderful welcome to Porugal.
The room was great but the main areas can use some housekeeping. The neighborhood was in bad shape with abandoned buildings, graffiti everywhere. Very nice job with breakfast offerings.
Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Good location, lovely breakfast. Warm welcome and good advice. Highly recommended!
Situated close to the centre in a quiet neighbourhood the staff of Casa do Bairro welcomed us with open arms. They were very friendly and helpful. The room was big and nicely decorated. Breakfast was good and plenty.
The bed could have been wider. It felt a little bit small for 2 adults.
