Obidos is a beautiful village inside the castle walls.
Obidos is a beautiful village inside the castle walls. There are many good restaurants and shops along with many noteworthy sights. If you go out the back of the castle walls you can overlook the valley and see other villages all to the sound of songbirds. It's like going back in time. We ate at Real Casa do Petisco which had great food, great service and reasonable prices. Try the roast pork belly. Delicious.

Everything was great.
Everything was great. The owners were very welcoming offering us a glass of sherry upon arrival and generously offering us extra food (fruit and crackers) to take when we were leaving. Very nice people.

Sam and Rich could not have been more welcoming.
Sam and Rich could not have been more welcoming.
They did so much to insure our comfort, from stocking the refrigerator to providing an electric mattress pad (sheer bliss!). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and cozy. It is a lovely property with a beautiful view. We would not hesitate to stay there again or recommended to anyone.

I wasn't there long enough to do as much exploring as I would have liked. The castle was very interesting wandering in and around there. If I had more time I would have liked to explore more of the town.

We went to see the Christmas lights.
We went to see the Christmas lights. The main street is beautiful. Also went to Vila de Natal. If you don't have children with you not really worth the price. Because we spent 2 night we had a day to walk around the outside of the walls also.

We were really looking forward to staying in the castle but the room we booked was actually in a building attached to the castle. We were not at all happy with our room which disappointed us but the town inside the walls of the castle was fun to walk around. The restaurant at the hotel was very good with great service. If we were to visit again, which we won't, we would avoid room 002 as it is a bit like a dungeon being the lowest room in the hotel.
The apartment was immaculate!! The location was fabulous...just outside the city wall! It had a beautiful view of the castle! The host was wonderfully hands-on!! He met us at the door and treated us to ginginja and cookies! He was the nicest host on all of our travels through Portugal!!! He gave us lots of very helpful information on nearby Obidos...even an interactive map of Obidos that my daughter downloaded on her phone. It was very helpful! We appreciated him so much. I highly recommend this place!
The host was wonderful, attentive and asking me daily if everything was good. She also prepared the breakfast each morning. The terrace was amazing, so spacious and comfortable and private as you were above the streets. It's also quiet here below the castle. You can basically park anywhere you can find a spot. The host also offered to do my laundry, which was very appreciated as I only came with a carryon for 6 weeks of travel. I ended up extending my stay here because it was so lovely.
This delightful hotel is located within the Óbidos historic Castle walls and perfectly placed to visit this lovely town. The quirky spacious rooms were clean ,the bed was very comfortable and the bath a pleasure to use after spending a number of nights in hotels with showers only .
The town has lots of good restaurants and bars , tourist and craft shops so gets very busy during the day but late afternoon when the tourists leave the town quietens down and becomes yours to savour.
We immensely enjoyed our stay in this traditional house inside the city walls of Obidos. Rafael was a very enthusiastic host and was very eager to make our stay exceptional. He was proud to share the story of his grandfather’s house. The house was very clean and comfortable and the terraced patios were amazing! While we were there, we strolled in the village, walked the castle walls, enjoyed good food and watched the sunset from the swing behind the house with a glass of wine.
Wonderful space, perfect in every way. Excellently equipped, and the aircon and dehumidifier were really effective, so it was super comfortable. The location is ideal - just 2 mins from Porta da Vila, and 1 road back from the main street. Despite that, it was absolutely peaceful. There is free parking just outside the town wall, but it is not signposted - the entrance is next to Caixa Geral de Depósitos, N8, 2510-089 Óbidos, Portugal.
This hotel is quite modern, and from a walking distance to the old town of Obidos, which was really conveniant. It's quiet, there is no staff so you are pretty independent in there. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and comfortable, and super clean. There is a common space near the entrance where you can relax and eat your own food. Perfect place for a short stay. And best value for money around the area.
Great quiet place to relax with excellent interiors, well maintained territory, garden and swimming pool. Big spacious rooms, presumably much bigger than what you can get in tiny houses if central Óbidos. Short walk to Óbidos and great views over Óbidos castle. Delicious breakfast in a luxurious dining room of the house. Parking. Play house with toys for kids in the garden.
Casa Cristina was great for the 4 of us traveling to Obidos. The property is beautiful and landscaping just fabulous. We enjoyed our stay in this quiet location with a great view of the castle and readily available parking. Loved having a full kitchen where we could have our breakfast. Enjoyed a glass of wine & snacks on the terrace in front of the house. Overall lovely
Perfect location inside the walls of the castle. Lovely little B&B! The rooms are small, but the hotel has so much character and charm that you really don’t mind it. The walk from the recommended parking lot was very easy, although I wouldn’t recommend rolling your bags through the streets. The check in was fairly straight forward and the instructions were easy to follow.
Our host Jaoa was kind and helpful. He offered historical detail on Obidos as well as Casa Picva, which is so charming and authentic. breakfast is served with thoughtfulness including homemade jams, bread and Pastel de Nata. Our room was lovely with a comfortable bed and excellent shower. The location is a ten with castle wall access immediately across from Casa Picva.
The overall feel of staying in the pousada castle was fantastic. The decor beautiful and views from various vantage points incredible. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts outstanding. It did not disappoint.
Hospitable host couple, long historic residence conveniently located a few steps away from antient city wall entrance. There are two parking spaces in front of property. Great experience of traditional Obidos resident living. Good breakfast in an old fashion settings.
Everything was perfect. Obidos is really small, so the hostel in the town lets you discover everything on foot. The room was spacious and I liked how the place was designed. Our room and the facilites were clean (and I'm very attentive here). Thanks for the stay!
Guest house is in a wonderful location in Obidos which is a must see for travelers to Portugal. Room was rather big and comfortable. Room very clean and staff was helpful and friendly. Nice common space in the back garden for taking your coffee or breakfast
The location and room were excellent. We were right in the center of the town inside the castle walls. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was filled with a lot of choices for dining,
good location. interesting building ,good to be able to make tea/coffee in little shared space., and eat own food as restaurants in Obidos generally very expensive and touristy.
This hotel is not updated. The bathroom was very poor its need a renovation.
The mattress were very old.
The castle is beautiful, the view from the castle is amazing.
