Monchique Springs is a small village a few minute drive from Monchique town. It's much nicer than the town, which seems quite neglected. In contrast Monchique Spa is green, beautiful, well kept and much more interesting with an air of a spa in Switzerland, or England. A must to see!

A beautiful Roman Spa town set high in the hills above the Algarve; the hotel we stayed in was part of the spa which has been bought by an ambitious hotelier who has yet to improve all the buildings to a satisfactory standard. The signage at the hotel is woeful we spent the first two hours of our visit completely lost. If the entrance to the guest parking is down the side of a factory which it is, tell people rather than leave them driving around confused

Monchique is a pretty little town in the mountains, with quiet cobbled streets, boutique shops and wonderful cafes. The new Velochique Cafe is amazing. The area is dotted with incredible trails for walking and cycling and is a great place to stay for a quiet night but still close enough to the Algarve to visit during the day. Silves is a wonderful nearby historic town with an 11th century fort and more wonderful shops and restaurants. Monchique has a good mid sized supermarket that caters for all your needs too. And there are some good local restuarants.

Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Monchique was lovely and there is a good supermarket for self caterers. Had the best food at Vintage in the centre. Foia just up the hill was perfect for views. Brilliant stop for the race track at Portimao.

Monchique in august is a quiet, little, hilly town, a good start location for visiting activities in the surroundings: hiking, karting, kayakking (Lagos), visiting castles and so on. The houses are either nicely painted infresh colors or the y are in a bad shape and locked. In the town and also around it, are multiple trails to walk/hike.
Quinta do Tempo is a wonderful location in the Serra de Monchique, in the forest but near the beaches of Portimão, Lagos and Aljezur. This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature and explore Algarve. The property is a well restored traditional house, surrounded by a beautiful garden. The hosts, Jorge and Laura, are very welcoming, and kept in touch with us before and during our stay. This is certainly one of the places that we have enjoyed the most in Portugal, due to the property, the hosts and the location. We will certainly come back!
We wish we'd stayed longer. This small hotel is more beautiful and comfortable than 4 star locations we've experienced. With amazing views it is a serene, well designed hotel. The staff are superb: friendly, and helpful with excellent communication before and during the stay. The rooms are impeccable and the owners add thoughtful touchs. The breakfast was fresh with something for everyone. The shared spaces are lovely and comfortable. Would definitely return.
Staying at Casa Atman was an unusual experience with unforgettable views of the Monchique Mountains and the countryside down to the Atlantic coast with the cities of Lagos and Portimão. It is a great base for trips to both the South and West coast (Odexeice, Aljezur, Sagres). Maria and João were warm, friendly and professional hosts. The modern apartment and personalized breakfasts created a truly homey yet private atmosphere.
Wonderful peaceful location, beautiful clean house and very spacious living area and kitchen. Hosts are friendly and they sent messages to make sure we were OK during the visit. Orchard where we could pick lemons and avocados. Excellent shaded terrace area with very good barbeque. Kitchen is well equipped. Close to Monchique for exploring region and local ceramics/artists but also feels secluded. Very friendly neighbours.
The hosts were delightful, interesting, and informative. They have a beautiful piece of land with breathtaking views on the trails surrounding the house. I appreciated the solitude of the property, the fresh air, and the close proximity to the Caldas de Monchique. There is also plenty of room to sit outside to enjoy the gorgeous surroundings and the beautiful night sky.
Great place to stay in the middle of the little town of Monchique. Perfect for hiking out.
The room is a bit small, but very nice.
We really appreciated the big and fully equipped kitchen with fridge etc and the little living room downstairs.
Really sweet place.
A paradise-like place where you can relax with nature. Especially the view from the hotel is amazing!
Joao, the hotel owner, is also a very kind and warm person. He will always make you feel welcome and will be happy to help you avoid any inconvenience.
We were warmly greeted by two lovely aged sisters. Very beautiful yard, around a lot of greenery and flowers. Among this beauty is a large swimming pool. This hotel has a restaurant. The cuisine is excellent. We ate very tasty food.
A lovely decorated house on a hill looking down on Caldas de Monchique. Lots of nooks and crannies in the chalet itself- including a stone basement with a fine pool table. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in Monchique at this Chalet.
Very spacious apartment with a lot of light and a nice view. Lucinda was very kind and also let us use the washing machine. Good location of the apartment, close to the center of Monchique with a grocery store right next to it.
Public free parking in the vicinity of the hotel.
Friendly staff.
Helpful receptionists.
Nice breakfast.
Clean rooms.
Quiet location.
Average size outdoor pool.
Kids pool.
Dinner buffet (traditional Portuguese) with live music.
Excellent location in the centre of Monchique. The room was small and has a great balcony with a table and chairs. The communal kitchen has everything. Bathroom small but shower was excellent.
Beautiful location with fabulous views. Lovely pool, quiet and relaxing. The hotel is really good value for money and was very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
Lovely location. Staff all very helpful, warm and welcoming. Lovely that we could do walks in the hills directly from the property and the hotel would do us a packed lunch.
The breakfast was good. The garden is beautiful. The location is also in a nice area of Monchique. They clean your room daily. Some of the staff was friendly and welcoming.
