    * owner of the place is really very friendly. She was very helpful and tried to make the most of our vacation. * When we were unsatisfied with the room, we asked to change rooms. This was made possible the day after our arrival. This had a large balcony with nice view over the city * Very quite at night, but still close to the city center (within the old city walls).

    * Not all rooms have a balcony, which is suggested on the website. * Kitchen is shared (but clean), and may be in another building/floor. * We were first offered a very small room and bathroom, which was definately not value for money. However, the owner was able to change us to another larger room, fitted for the price we paid per night.

+ nice room with AC and stylish furniture + kitchen with fridge and other stuff + located in the historic centre + nice balcony + brilliant cliffs just 15 min walk from the casa sousa!

    - the room was quite small - few ants in the room appeared - old equipment in the small bathroom - a bit hard to reach the address at first

Top price/quality. Really friendly hosts. Really nice accomodation, with aircon, blinds for the room, several beds, daily cleaning. Excellent location, really close to a free car parking and really close to the city center.

When we were staying there, the WiFi was down. During our stay in Portugal, the WiFi connections have been in general an issue. The hosts however took immediate action to have it repaired.

Great location and friendly staff. Good for short stay.

The room we stayed is very small. Not easy to find the location.

I really liked the charm of this little place. I noted that some thought the beds too hard but after staying in a bunch of 4 stars and having a back and neck ache, after staying here, none. It was a little hard to figure out where it was but I told my wife I was just using our wandering around to give her some exercise. I think she bought it. All kidding aside, I really liked the place for a taste of real Portugal. Go there and expect to be in a place on the back streets of Lagos. 10 feet behind is the Roman/Moor walls.

Hard to find anything. But I have simple tastes. Don't go here if you want to be pampered, fed breakfast, park in a flat parking lot or walk on some streets that are also flat.

Lovely place!! Clean, cozy and in a great location. Hostels are about the same price as a room at Casa Sousa (for two with private bathroom, balcony and shared kitchen). It is nothing fancy (as a 5 star hotel) but it is clean, comfortable and in great location. The lovely older lady is running the place. I felt like I was back home visiting my grandma. I would definitely recommend this place.

Walking up the hill to the apartment was a bit exhausting, but that could be easily fixed with a scooter rental.

Clean, good location (little bit away from noisy main streets with bars and restaurants, but only about 5 to 10 minutes walking), room with small balcony great for drinking cup of coffee or glass of wine. Owner was really nice, even though not speaking english.

Clean, good location, has all facilities that you need. The old granny is very sweet.

Very small TV. We were given room close to entrance door, so we heard all the noises and door bell. Nobody speaks English well.

Very central location in the old part of the city. Extra facilities (such as the kitchen and outside terrace) was a bonus! Eventhough the owner couldn't speak a word of English, she was very helpful.

Noise of other occupants early in the morning or very late at night.

We were in room 3. We felt very much at home, and at the same time our independence was respected. Very welcoming, clean, the beds were comfortable and good, the air conditioning was great help, quiet and at the same time close to town. Good price-quality relation. The terrace was a relaxing space. Free parking nearby.

Clean, very well located - central but not busy at night area. Nice staff, very helpful. Nicer than on the photos.

Very small rooms. Not good value for money, as it is advertised online, the prise is higher than the places around.

Great location in old town but away from nightlife so nice and quiet. Loved the set up of rooms with a communal courtyard and kitchen.

Bed was way too hard for me! There is only a fan and no air con.

good location, rooms cleaned every day,

lack of privacy, all rooms have windows/doors facing the terrace which means you cannot open it unless you want to have your room in a public area. They do not accept cards (it's mentioned during the booking process), kitchen is very small, staff speaks very poor English, rooms were not clean although kept up regularly.

good location. the lady (sorry, don't know her name) was very friendly

bed was very uncomfortable, felt like I was staying at my grandmothers place (old and a little stale), shower was very small and towels seemed either very old or cheap (quite rough and small)

Excellent location just inside the city walls. A short walk from the central area where all the restaurants and bars are, but far enough to be a nice quiet street. Wi-Fi was advertised as only in reception area, but was available in the rooms. Nice common patio with tables, clothes racks and a BBQ, and also a full kitchen. Also had a kitchenette in the room. Parking was on-street only, but we got lucky and found a spot every day. There was no A/C, but the fan was more than sufficient.

Although nice to have a BBQ available, not so nice when someone else is BBQing right in front of your room. Lighting in the room wasn't very good.

The last kept telling us to be quiet in the evening which was annoying

The location is perfect, everything can be found at walking distance and the car can be parked close by. The room was clean and the balcony had a nice view. Very nice hostel.
