Very good location. Owner is friendly.
Good location, good price, clean, good wi-fi, fully fitted kitchen - there was coffee pack with beans, but no coffee grinder. There is coffee maker, however, tea, and such. The owner and the apartment caretaker are very nice and helpful, very friendly.
Be aware that the building entry door is extremely narrow. You may not be able to get into the building at all if your BMI is >30. The apartment entry door is ~ 1.8m or so, be careful if you are taller. Very old house and smells like old/rotting wood or perhaps mold. Very small bathroom, can't brush your teeth in the bathroom sink due to its size and location. No view; dark. The photo with the water view is misleading a bit. Very claustrophobic entry. The bed is not for 2, since it has a footboard and if 2 are to sleep - one has to crawl over the other person, as the bed is pushed against the wall on one of the sides. Strange mix of old and new furnitures. Your clothes will soak up the smell of the old wood/mold in the apartment.
Location is excellent.the apartments are not big but comfortable enough for two.there are two rooms: a living room and a bedroom. vintage style furniture is nice.a small shop downstairs. Very good all in all.
Nothing really.a bit low ceiling in the corridor. we had problems with jalousie in a big room facing a near house, so felt embarrased when you "meet" face to face with opposite-window folks
1) Location (flat in historical center), beautiful viewing platform is in 2 min 2) Very clean 3) There are all neccessary accessoires (even washing powder, salt, gel for washing dishes, a lot of toilet paper) 4) Pleasant hostess 5) TV with all international channels 6) Rather comfortable bed 7) All appartment in IKEA-style, there is even IKEA's first aid kit :)
1) Not very comfortable WC (it's combined with shower cabin, that's not very germetic, and water gets on the floor, it's impossible to drain it somewhere) 2) Not very good ventilation - when you wash your clothes, they dry for very long, but I think it's the problem of all appartments in Lisbon 3) It's rather loud all day, a lot of people speaking below windows (and always feeling that they are speaking in the next room) - wasn't the problem for us, it's ok, but maybe can be problem for others 4) Very low ceilings, you have to be very careful, if you are tall, like my husband 5) Very high staircase and narrow enter door - also not a problem, just small feature, it was very funny to jostle through this door every day :)
+staff +location. walking distance, but could be a plroblem for people who doesn't like to walk in mountain area +large room +fully equiped apartments for long stay term
-although the apartment is very large it has tiny bathroom
Local area, food, people, sights
The apartment is great. Everything you need in the kitchen is provided. Brilliant location, close to Castle and restaurants. Have breakfast at Cafe do Electrico.(almost opposite apartment) Nothing is too much trouble for Sandra the owner. The local people all have breakfast there. Very entertaining! Madeleine and Fernando were very helpful and there are guide books and lots of info in the apartment. We had a great time with our daughters 20 and 17 years. We will be back !
The entrance to the building is very narrow and not the most beautiful, but authentic Alfama. Very narrow steep stairs, not for the elderly or families with small children. WiFi did not work all over the apartment.
Best thing was location - next to route of Tram 28 which is a picturesque ride through the hilly Alfama district. We could also walk up Rua do Salvador (the narrow steep street outside) to local restaurants, shops and viewing points over Alfama and out to sea. The flat itself was comfortable and ok size for a couple. It has a mild temperature and is comfy. We slept really well :-) The bathroom is small but manageable. We liked using the narrow balcony to look down on the lane outside. Finally I liked this particular area because it has maintained some authenticity - yes other apartments are used by tourists but a lot are not and there is a distinct way of life visible in the Alfama, which is great.
Very nice location in Alfama. The flat is clean and very practical. Lots of space to hang out in the living room. The owners are friendly and helpful.
Very narrow entrance and steep stair case to the building is a bit of a challenge if you have a big bag.
2 bedrooms and a bed in the living room. 2 x air-conditioning. Nice and clean. Alfama really is a charming part of Lisboa with narrow streets and lots of small shops, cafes and restaurants. Easy transportation with tramstops only 50 m distance from the flat.
Fernando, the owner was very helpful giving us so much prior knowledge via email before our visit. Loved watching tram 28 passing at end of our road & thought it may be noisy at night but was very peaceful & we slept well. Very well equipped apt and every detail had been thought of which was very helpful.
Bathroom was very small but we got used to it! Steep and narrow stairs lead to apt which we found ok but someone with walking difficulties may find challenging.
well equipped kitchen - with useful things like a bottle of drinking water, washing up liquid, etc left there for us to use.
narrow front door - a bit tricky to get in with a small backpack on. bathroom just about adequate, but couldn't be any smaller.
The appartment is located in the heart of Lisbon! The famous trolleybus root #28 takes place under the window :) The flat is clean, cosy and good decorated. We would like to thank Fernando and Gloriya for their kindness, hospitability and care. We enjoyed every day of our staying in the appatment! Olga, Igor and Olga from Russia :)
the only problem was parking near the flat. it can be occupied but it is possible to park somewhere in a distance.
