The food, the wine, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the pool, the location.
good location, close to marina (10 min' walk) Secure parking, easy to find and easy to leave, close to main road out of Cascais,10 min's to auto Estrada. Good and adequate breakfast.
Breakfast a bit chaotic as staff not to helpful.
The room we got was not properly clean. Bathroom with food on the floor, etc...
Retained original styling from 70´, good room with nice view (5th floor), friendly and helpfull stuff at the reception and room maid and good location.
Locked frig in the room forbiden for private use (only as a minibar), weak remote controle for tv, that covers only few tv programs and street loudness.
Staff ere very helpful especially dulce.. Would definetly stay here again..
Can't say I disliked anything to be honest..
Pleasant pool and bar staff. Reception staff good. Clean pool - good towels.
Shabby worn bathroom towels. Miserable dining room staff, not one greeting in any language! So decided not to bother eating lunch or dinner there. We had the last room in the hotel, it was advertised as an apartment. No fridge, no facilities at all apart from a plastic chopping board and a tablecloth! Good job we had no intention of self catering. They fixed the broken toilet seat promptly and brought a hair dryer too. Feel sorry for the staff they must realize they are working in a time warp.
Our room was on the 5th floor, and the view during day time and evening time was very nice, if I am able to return to Cascais, I would most likely want to stay at Hotel Cidadela, and it would on the 5th floor.
I was expecting to see a desktop/ or laptop computer in the hotel lounge, ( similar to other hotels I have stayed in.) But never mind, it was good to be with out any form of internet.
They had rooms while every other hotel not
Everything. I think one day it was a luxury hotel, but it was years ago
The 60's theme to the place with the décor and the music. Took me back to my youth.
No fried eggs for breakfast, see how the Spanish hotels do it.
Good balcony with nice view. Hotel has decent pool area. Got fridge in the room. Walking distance to the centre about 5 - 10 minuters.
Heavy trafficked road just outside the hotel which need to be crossed. Somewhat old style hotel. Even though the breakfast was good, the coffee was undrinkable - tasted like poison (not even able to kill it with sugar and milk).
swimmimg pool, amazing
The room was very spacious and the view was fantastic as I was on the 4th floor.
Ageing and in poor condition. The air conditioning did not cool the room but I was OK with the window open as I am used to road noise. The room was clean when I arrived but cleaners did not often hoover the room itself so after 7 days the carpet was a little messy. One day the bin was not emptied either.
Spacious Room Nice view Friendly Staff Parking Pool
Poor WiFi Bad coffee
Very nice hotel in quiet location and only ten minutes walk to the beach.
Proximity to the old town, generous good breakfast, overall cleanliness. Helpful staff. It is dated, as is widely reported, but delightfully preserved. We will go again.
Weak wifi strength.
Great Location, nice staff, although a bit old very nice and recommendable hotel!.
The staff was very nice and helpfull, view from the room and terrace was wonderful, swimming pool and servuce in the bar excellent, good price
The furniture was too old, the doors from the wardrobe fell off, the location is not that great - quite a walk to the downtown
Location good, apart from swimming pool being by side of busy road - but didn't hear road too much at night, so not really a problem. Reception staff were good and very helpful. Decent lounge area and pool area good. Could get bus to Sintra from right outside hotel. Short walk to marina and centre of town/station - bit steep but not too bad!
Definitely needs updating in bedrooms and main areas - but it was adequate and good value. Even the tv in room was from the last century, but it sort of worked!
Good location for town and fairly close to the small town beach. Swimming-pool refreshing option. Breakfast was very good and restaurant and bar staff efficient and friendly. So were the majority of the main desk staff, aside for one fellow who was working evenings.
Proximity to town centre and shops/restaurants etc
Poor wi-fi in room. I was on the 5th floor and could rarely log-on.
Towels smelled bad.
Location: Good base to visit Lisbon. Approx 40 mins by train. €4.50 return pp. Safe area. Few minutes walk to centre Cascais and train station. Supermarket along the way. Hotel; Spacious room with a large balcony. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast more than enough variation. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. This hotel should be rated at least an 8.5 in my view. Very good value for money. We paid €65 pn for a room and that at end of June! Pool with ample amount of beds with bathing towels supplied. Perfectly kept garden and surroundings. Easy and ample parking on site.
Breakfast staff. Non communicative, disinterested. Not a smile. No energy. The hotel should replace these people!!!
The hotel was in a good position for walking into the old parts of Cascais It was very clean. Our maid was jolly and very helpful. Reception staff were polite at all times but little interaction with guests.
Dining room very dark and waiters not friendly at all. No facillities to keep you on site. Barbeque one night a week too costly. Atmosphere of hotel non existant
Great location, 5-10 minute walk to the centre. Very clean hotel
Nothing really, we had a great room with a lovely view. Hotel needs updating of furniture and decor but it has all the fundamentals of a lovely hotel. Would stay there again
Nice staff doing the best they could in satisfying the customers
-breakfast choice -old and over used furniture everywhere -bad and broken bathrooms -13" CRT TV's!!!
