The bedroom was very comfortable and the Dining room was delightful even though the steps up to the dining tables were quite dangerous for older people. The menu was a bit limited. The food was a bit too nouvelle qui sine
The lighting in dining room was quite dim. Lunch menu by pool not great.
Beautifully converted 15th century monastery with many original features including impressive church & cloisters.mExtremely friendly & helpful staff, comfortable rooms, wonderful restaurant in old cellar, wine tasting each evening, lovely outdoor pool area....I could go on. We spent a very restful couple of days here and would definitely go back!
Nothing to dislike!!

Staff and the historic nature of the hotel
Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful property. Excellent breakfast.
Noisy and ineffective airconditioning. Steam room too cold.
The hotel exceeded my expectations and is a great place to relax and take it easy for a few days. Very nice surroundings, gardens and pool area.
The room was big and comfortable and with a private terrace which is great for reading while sipping a drink. The decor of the room was a bit 'heavy' for my tastes and would have preferred a fresher, summery design.
It was unique in that it had a Cathedral on site. Excellent dinner.
Hard mattress, hot water took 10 minutes to get warm. Breakfast room on departure day had no hot foods 45 min after start time. Room was very dark.
Everything. No inexpensive but worth it!
Loved the renovation of the convent. Loved the private tour we received by the intern who was knowledgeable and extremely pleasant.
Were not given an option of restaurants when we booked dinner; only after we left the high-end wine cellar did we see people having dinner in the bar. Didn't like the wait staff lingering by our table and watching us while we ate; felt like we were on display.
this place is fantastic in every respect .Restaurant, Wines, Staff, Pool and Location
nothing it is perfect 11 out of 10
Everything is excellent. A lot of history. The area outside is very nice and beautiful. The breakfast is fantastic. Excellent break in our travel.
This is a beautiful historical hotel. So much beautiful history with all the modern conveniences. The tour of the property made my stay even more enjoyable! Loved the spa! Wonderful treatments! Both the indoor and outdoor pool are amazing! The restaurant is beautiful!
We enjoyed being just a few kilometers from the old city. We enjoyed being out in the country with fresh air, beautiful scenery and lots of things to do if you were interested. We biked into town on bikes they supplied at no charge. The old convent is incredible. It's beautiful and historic. The restaurant is extraordinary. We had the best dinner in the beautiful old wine cellar. Our room was oddly shaped- it was in the old historic part- but still very comfortable.
No complaints! We would enjoy returning.
Beautiful hotel with lot of history. Church, which formed part of building, was beautiful. Staff were great and we had a really lovely break. Location, just outside town was ideal to get out and about to see the adjoining area.
Nothing! All was great
Very professional staff. Great Breakfast.
This is a great experience in an ancient monastery, with a superb interior. The rooms are good and the internet works very well, and the breakfast is delicious. It was a great stay, we had a great free guided visit and also wine tasting at the wine cellar.
The room needs some refurbishment in its interior, due to the movement of some furnitures. The pool and jacuzzi were a little cold for this time of the year, and the sauna was always off.
great location, a monastery with historical value. Great breakfast Nice setting for wine tasting
The spa/swimming pool area was always unattended by any staff from the hotel. in the late afternoon, it was a mess, full of used towels. The Water of the jacuzzi was cold. We reported it the first day and they were not able to fix it, second day it was still in the same condition. The wines at the wine-tasting should be of higher standard.
This hotel was pure luxury mixed with incredible history. The service was absolutely outstanding and friendly. The amenities were top notch from the rooms to the spa to the restaurant. I highly recommend signing up for the free tour of the property and chapel to appreciate the rich history. They have done an excellent job with tying in modern luxurious design with the old world charm making this a unique place to stay. The pictures online do not do it justice..it is more beautiful in real life. We were also invited to free wine tastings in the old water well which makes for a most beautiful wine cellar and experience. The breakfast came with our room package and was beyond our expectations with tables and tables of food choices and included champagne. The drive to the town wall was not too far and the staff was very helpful in helping us navigate. Our room was in the new building and did not disappoint as the shower was amazing and we had our own private patio. Parking was free on property as well. This hotel is very special and I highly recommend staying here.
The room, the frienliness of staff, the place itself. Convento do Espinheiro is a place with history and very beautifull. Breakfast is great.
Wine tasting on Saturday evening. Staff and location.
WiFi was unstable and food at the bar was bad and expensive.
