Guesthouse very clean ,staff very helpful and courteous.
Shower was very small, bathroom facilities very tight.
Brand new furnishings spotlessly clean. Attractive décor! We were in the "Marilyn" room - a large wall decoration with Marilyn Monroe's famous face was above the bed. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast.
Hard to find. Parking information should have been given with reservation. Two flights of stairs to room might be difficult for some people .
Artistic decor, homey and friendly atmosphere,.exceptionally helpful staff, very good location.
Nothing to point out
Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff
All the staff is very helpful. close to bus stop to go to town, train station or metro
Lovely attitude, wellcoming with port wine, individual explonation about the city tours and map. Wonderful garden outside of the room in 1st flor..
The staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The Kandinsky room was spacious with a large and very comfortable double bed (twin beds put together at our request). Very handy having a fridge in the room. Free wi-fi, hair dryer and A/C made our stay all the better. Breakfast was okay.
Compact bathroom with very small shower cubicle. Location is a bit too far from the centre of Porto. At least a 10-15 minute walk to the centre but further to the river and across to Vila Nova de Gaia (very hilly!).
The place is very nice and full of cute art details (beautiful carpets!), but the best thing was the treatment. My friend got sick and they let her stay almost a full extra day in the owners' bedroom at no charge, feeding her and making sure she was fine. Now, that's hospitality! I will come back to thank them a thousand times, and to stay in their beautiful place.
simple and nice decoration nice area the people friendly and helpful i would like to stay there soon!
The Cosme Guesthouse was one of our best hotels we stayed in during our time in both Portugal and Spain. The owner and his staff went above and beyond for us and were incredibly gracious (including meeting us at 4 a.m. to open the doors of our guesthouse when our bus arrived early one morning and surprising us by delivering a beautiful silver platter of wine, muffins and cookies to our room one evening ). The rooms are immaculate and the location is near the heart of Porto but in a quiet area. I highly recommend this guesthouse and I can't say enough about the warmth and hospitality in which the owner and his staff gave us during our stay.
Nothing, everything was terrific.
Personal approach, very friendly staff, well furnished, excellent beds. Good location on walking distance of Porto's hotspots. Highly recommended - will definitely come back!
Location, friendly staff and shaming decor.
Friendly welcome, cosy breakfast room, quiet neighborhood not very far from downtown
Helpful friendly staff Attractive decor Kitchenette in room Great location Nice breakfast Great price
We booked this to stay on the way back from Spain to spend two part days and one night in Porto before we flew back to the UK. The apartment we had was large and spacious with bedroom, separate lounge, separate area for our daughter with proper bed (not a sofa type which is often the case in many places). The rooms are kited out with mainly new ikea stuff which is modern and functional. Staff could not be more helpful and were emailing to check on our arrival and making sure that all was OK. We were met with drinks and Nuno (one of the staff) spend time to explain the city, where to go, where to eat etc making sure that we knew how to make the most of our time. They speak good English if that is required (not sure about other languages). The building itself is really interesting (very old in parts but modernised really carefully leaving the old and new to belend together well. The rooms are very quite; we did not hear a thing from other residents etc Checkout was late and they looked after our bags for the day while we made the most of our time in Porto and they arranged our transport to the airport. Breakfast is served in the lounge which is a nice area with modern furnishings, books and information about the city and its architecture. The location is good for the city and about 10 minutes walk from the shops and around 20-25 to the river and historic areas on foot.
I can't think of anything we could fault about this place.
good starting point for any trips and in walking distance to center. breakfast very good and staff very supportive.
not that easy to find.
Very friendly helpful staff Kitchen annex and kettle in the room
Breakfast is a little late (starts at 08:30)
Spacious semi apartment. very clean. Went out of their way to do our laundry, good breakfast.
Their advice was very poor. Wasted a lot of our time by not booking as we had asked. Stay there, but book restaurants etc yourself, even speaking no portugese, I managed better myself. I would recommend the staff do not give advice, if it's wrong.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. They were always available to answer questions or assist in getting taxis etc. The location was quiet. The breakfast was nice.
Only negative would be the steps to the third floor could be a problem for older guests. Request lower floor if you have issue with mobility.
Everything! Very friendly and helpful. Extensive information giving about the city and sites upon arival. We couldn't make breakfast on the second day as we had to catch an early boat. Without asking they made a nice breakfast for us the evening before. Great experience a d they cam recommend some great cheap local restaurants.
Lack of bed-side tables; lack of control of heating; dampness after rain; musty, damp closet; television too small.
The location was perfect for us. It is situated in a very quiet residential location, there was no noise from the city, so we slept very well. The lady that arranges breakfast is a treasure, even tho' we don't speak Portuguese and she doesn't speak English, she made us feel very welcome, she always had a lovely smile and was so helpful. Everything in Porto is within walking distance from Cosme. Within five mins walk from Cosme, beside Passeio De S Lazaro, there is a small square with a few local bars which were super for a night cap.
If like us you get the Metro from Porto airport I would recommend you have a more detailed map of Porto with you. On leaving the underground you can then check the nearest street name and get your bearings. We arrived late at night and found a map very helpful.
The guesthouse is really fantastic… warm welcome, great location, good breakfast… everything was perfect!!!
The people were exceptionally nice and so helpful. When we arrived late, they even gave us a snack as we had had no dinner. The guest house is beautifully designed and has lots of art to make it very interesting to stay there. And everything was in easy walking distance.
Coming by car, it was hard for our GPS to locate but usibpng a mobile phone, they talked us in.
