Costa d'Oiro Ambiance Village  

We liked the fact that the hotel looked like a little "village", and you have to walk to go to the restaurant, or reception. Our room was like a little apartment, very comfortable and well decorated. The food for breakfast had a lot of variety and was excellent, and we had dinner there once and was very good. We walked to the old town a couple of town, the sandy beach is very close. Everyone there, made our stay very pleasant. Excellent endroit pour passer un sejour agreable. Le service etait tres professionel, la nourriture delicieuse, nous n'avons pas profite des piscines decouvertes car le temps ne le permettait pas, mais avons apprecie la piscine chauffee. Belles marches jusqu'au vieux village, bons petits restos sur le chemin. La plage n'est pas tres loin non plus.

Excellent ambience surrounding the whole complex. Most unusual format in having accomodation separate from the main hotel, but this added to its privacy and exclusivity, not least of all having its own pool !Excellent breakfast and friendly bar. Excellent value for money and will definitely stay their again when on another golfing holiday.

The breakfast was amazing and service was really good.

Nice spacious room and bathroom. Had an own terrace looking at the pool. Great choice at breakfast. Quiet hotel, close to beautiful beaches. We liked it a lot.

Just a bit far from the city centre by walking, but it's compensated by the easy approach to the beach.

The staff were extremely helpful, very close to Praia D'Ana, beautiful big rooms and great breakfast (the usual buffet + a table of local Portuguese delicacies). Would definitely recommend!

Le stanze sono molto spaziose e pulite; quelle al piano superiore hanno un terrazzino privato. La colazione è molto abbondante e di ottima qualità. Vicino alle spiagge più belle di Lagos.

Il bagno potrebbe essere rinnovato. Nonostante non sia nuovo/ristrutturato è tutto molto pulito.

There was nothing that we like about the hotel.

Our booking was confirmed 5 weeks before our arrival just to be told at Reception that the hotel was fully booked and they did not have the 1 bedroom apartment available that we booked for. We were told that we (me, my husband and our 22 year old son) had to sleep in a studio apartment for 1 night before a 1 bedroom apartment will be made available on the following day. In addition, the studio and the 1 bedroom apartments were not in the main hotel but located a few streets away in what appeared to be a single story bunglalow house which was converted into a studio and 1 bedroom apartments with a tiny swimming pool about the size of children's pools (approx 10 meters x 5 meters) in most hotels in Malaysia. In the studio apartment, they squeezed 3 single beds together in a open room with the kitchenette.The house was in a cul-de- sac without a name and nor the name of the hotel other than the logo at the small gate which anybody can open anytime. Every morning we had to walk up the streets in the heat to get to the Coffee shop for breakfasts which were included with the room rates.For the price we paid, I felt we were cheated with the kind of accommodation that we got on this hotel. When I booked for this hotel, I imagine a kind or a resort place similar to what we have in the Far East countries.The hotel advertisement is misleading.

I loved that it was less than 5 minutes walk to several beautiful cliffs with beaches and the Ponta da Piadade. It really does feel like a tranquil village where you will spend your holiday. The atmosphere was quiet but excitement was readily available after a short walk into the city. The staff was very helpful in suggesting excursions away from the hotel - my girlfriend and I had the best time kayaking up and down the coast. And last, but certainly not least, the included breakfast buffet was amazing!

The pool water was very cold!

Costa d'Orio is definitely a Jewel in the Crown of Portugal. We had one of the Deluxe Apartments and opted for the half board option. The situation of the hotel is good for the local beaches and the old town. The hotel is spread out over a quiet residential area in individually designed villas which each have about 18 rooms. Our apartment had a roof terrace and was extremely well equipped. Each of the villas has it's own pool and the gardens are beautifully kept. Meals are served in the restaurant which is adjacent to the pool. You can eat inside or at a table next to the pool. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Whole place was immaculately clean. Breakfasts amazing. Beaches incredible. Well suited for couples. Location excellent.

There was a derelict building quite close to the hotel which was a bit alarming at first but in time its annoyance faded. The fact that you had to give your order for dinner the night before was annoying. The choice of food was limited and ranged from a delight to inedible.

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. There are beautiful beaches within easy walking distance. I cannot fault the Costa d'Orio Ambiance Village.

Great location. Walk to beautiful beaches, town, supermarket etc. Loved the very comfortable beds and the little balcony overlooking the pool and garden. Free car-parking a great advantage which made the room tariff very good value. Also lovely buffet breakfast included in our room rate.
