Overlooking a white sandy beach, São Rafael is an ultra modern 5-star complex halfway between Albufeira Marina and Praia da Galé. It features 2 pools, an extensive spa, diving and windsurfing possibilities. Opening out onto private terraces, bright and airy rooms at CS São Rafael Atlantic enjoy different views from floor-to-ceiling windows. They are decorated in soft tones with minimal designer furnishings. En suite bathrooms include power showers. Gourmet dining is available in the 2 restaurants of the hotel, featuring Mediterranean specialities, a live cooking station and views of the Atlantic Ocean. Renowned wines and spirits from the Algarve Region are served at the lobby and beach bars. The gym is well-equipped for cardio and fitness, while 1 of the 3 outdoor swimming pools is dedicated to the children. A golf course is nearby and attractive golf packages are available to guests. This is a very nice and beautiful hotel, situated on a quiet location, perfect for relaxation and near a lovely private beach. We had a very pleasant stay and would definetely come back. The beds are very comfortable, the shower is amazing and the location is beautiful and very quiet. Staff was quite helpful as well. The beds are single beds put together, instead of a double bed. Also, service on breakfast was a bit slow, not as would be expected from a five star hotel. They took a while to clean the tables and there was a queue outside after 9:30, even tho there were available seats.

The room is very big and comfortable. The shower is huge. The staff are polite and helpful with any query you have. The breakfast is very nice and overall the hotel has a very pleaseant and relaxing athmosphere. The bar and room service are good. The gardens outside were very nice and private access to the beach is wonderful. We would definitely come back to stay again. The hotel is a little hard to find at first and is poorly signposted. The spa is really great but there is a daily charge of €15 per person for its use (only the swimming pool is free) which isn't made clear when booking. A coffee maker in the room would also be nice.

The hotel has its own private beach so very close to the sea. The breakfast is the best I have ever had. The staff were excellent.....very helpful and attentive. I would most definitely go back again and would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. You need to have your own car if you stay at this hotel as it is quite far from Albufeira town. Well, you cannot walk to the main town. And the hotel does not have a shuttle bus during the winter months.

Beautiful setting and views of coast. Nature walks . Beaches . Seafood in beachbars. Contemporary design. Friendly staff. Great breakfast and setting Restaurant lacked atmosphere . Food mediocre at dinner.choice limited.

The design and decor of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful I also like the spa area. The room was very nice too. Breakfast was very good. I was unhappy about the reduced facilities on offer mainly restaurant areas. This was not explained when I booked only one small restaurant in the evening and there was no table for us as we had not booked. We ate out in town every night of our stay because of this. It was very quiet and no entertainment at all. I would like to stay again but would not go this time of year again because of the above.

Stayed at the São Rafael Atlantic Hotel for 3 days over Christmas. A great hotel if you don't want to be next to the bustle of Albufeira. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel but if you are looking for more nightlife then you'll definitely need to get a taxi into Albufeira. Car hire is recommended for getting out and about. The spa is fantastic as are the grounds around the hotel. There is a wooden walkway from the hotel down to a great beach cove. Highly recommended all round.

A very fine location with direct access to the beach. The ocean view room was quiet, big and with fantastic beds. A good price for the room after the main season. The breakfast buffet was big but the quality was not good. This could easily be improved: smaller bufffet, better quality of food and especially coffee.

This was a great hotel; we loved the design, the friendly service, and it was a pleasure to have dinner in the restaurant The closest city Albufeira is not a nice place to go to, totally spoiled by English style tourism (all-day loud football noise in the streets! Etc...)

Great hotel with great stuff. Close to its own beach and a wounerful garden with olive trees. Make sure that you book a room with sea view!!! We was on a hp plan. Food a bit boring and not of the quality of a 5 star hotel.

The beach was beautiful and the breakfast was nice, albeit stopped at 10. We had to pay for room service our first day (even though our room rate came with free breakfast) b/c we weren't ready to eat until 10:15 and it was already closed. The restaurant on the beach was not good, and the staff throughout the hotel could be nicer. The accommodations are nice now, but I don't the quality of the materials used are going to last long. I think it is priced too high for the quality of the hotel and it's staff.

The hotel was stunning from the point of arrival on.The staff were very welcoming and helpful at all times. The views from our balcony were beautiful and the outdoor pools merged really well with their surroundings. I must say the fact that we had to wear caps in the pool seemed a bit extreme but the pool atmosphere made up for it. The beach was lovely if rather a climb on the way back but oh so worth it. There was nothing we could complain about as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but we were disappointed that the beach restaurant was not open and so too the piano bar. We assumed that this was due to our stay being early in the year but we would have liked a little gentle entertainment in the evening.
