Lounge Bar and Al Fresco Restaurant with great views on surroundings & sea Very good food at restaurant Very friedly staff Huge breakfast buffet Nice beach close to hotel
not enough sunbeds at pool prices at lounge bar quite high
Rooms were spacious & soundproof, with nice views. good linen quality, local beach with private entrance from hotel just a few mins walk although a lot of stairs down ( in case you have a disability) friendly helpful staff. Underground parking.
The pools ( which are round)didn't seem to filter & as they are very busy....it's a necessity . The a la carte restaurant situated in the midst of the large gardens has no toilets, so leaving your table to walk back to the main building is not acceptable. The menu was poor & the service was SO fast, we had 3 courses in 45 minutes!! No very relaxed!! Sunset bar & pool bar, understaffed . The hotel is 5 star, ( just) but do keep in mind..it's very large...so rather hectic. Massage was very weak.
The Spa is of good quality
Very noisy between rooms as you can hear neighbours conversation ! Also not very clean for a five star.
The location of the hotel 5 min. walk to the beautiful S. Rafael beach and the exterior area are clearly the strengths of the hotel. Good breakfast. Just don’t expect a 5 star hotel, as it isn’t … and you will have a good holiday’s week.
We've been in this hotel twice last year and loved the quiet moments nearby the swimming pool - this year the experience was quite different as it is much a mass hotel with no one helping to manage the deck chaises in the swimming pool that some guests reserved with towels (from Saturday night to Sunday morning there wasn’t even no one to take it out … imagine how it was on Sunday morning!) Buffet is awful and you will hardly be able to have a decent meal there. Wifi is very, very bad. It looks that there isn't a Manager in charge for the hotel or apparently he/she is to busy to do that: when we did the check in, I took my time to write a personal letter regarding a disappointment with the hotel promotional politics – well, when a client does it, the least you expect is to have an answer (whatever the answer is!) … surprisingly we are still expecting for it after 5 days!
The spa facilities were one of the best I have been too, the room was amazing, best room yet, junior suite ticked all the boxes, views couldn't of been better. Took my partner for her birthday for 4 nights stay, didn't say anything to the hotel but they must of seen her date of birth on check in, when we got back to our room after sunning it up on the amazing beach very close to the hotel, the staff left a bottle of brut on ice along with a cake, what more can I say but very thoughtful, this was one of my best short stays so far and would not have second thoughts booking this hotel again or recommending to family and friends.
One or two of the staff a bit grumpy at the restaurant with sea view on our first night, they did not connect very well with making you feel welcome, especially after a long days journey. This was a pity because the food was great, views over the sea amazing but let down by one or two staff being a bit abrupt , this prevented me from eating back at this place(shame). Apart from that the rest of the staff of the hotel was very helpful and cheerful most times.
The hotel was quite, serene , comfortable and luxurious. I loved my stay.
Hotel too big and loooong corridors.
After the optimus alive festival in Lisbon we were looking for a few days to relax before heading home. This place certainly did that. The rooms were excellent, spacious, modern and luxurious
No sun beds around the pool. Half of them were broken and there wasn't enough to go round. So we headed to the 'private' beach which was crowded and we had to pay €15 a day for a sun lounger.
Excellent breakfast, nice modern rooms, parking, nice park.
Fitness and spa, indor swimming pool was open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., so the most propied time to go to the gym was lost.
Food - esp breakfast and no omelette person, no tea / coffee at table
The pool and rooms are fantastic
The food is cold no matter what time you get the the buffet
Food needs improvement.
Great location in large gardens stretching down to the sea and a small beach.Superb room(Atlantic suite more than 70sqm).good breakfast.
Room had kettle but only two tea bags on first day and nothing on following days(Miserly for a 5star hotel).disappointing a la carte restaurant in the grounds with very limited menu and no fresh fish of the day.You can eat salmon 1000km from the sea !
Very quite hotel in a very Nice area.
To leave the hotel after 10 amazing days.
Nice hotel big rooms
Pool area could have been better
Restricted Gym open hours limited to 10am to 8pm. Buffet food lovely but not kept hot enough.
Big bedrooms with a good shower room good breakfast but could do with some change every day eg pancakes doughnuts
Had to pay 50cents per tea bag as tea bags were only supplied for first night and no milk supplied when I enquired at reception was told the Portuguese took their tea black!! No entertainment at all (stayed 14-21 May) hotel very impersonal particularly reception
Very nice staff and nice activities in the hotel and around.
The dinner buffet can be better.
Perfect location, views & atmosphere!
Near the beach
Not many restaurants nearby, a bit out from town
Very helpful staff! They gave us better room than we booked. The hotel is really quiet, very good for nice relaxing holidays! Rooms are spacious with nice private balconies, good showers, very comfortable beds!!! Really 5* breakfast with champagne, good variety of food. The hotel has private very spacious underground parking, beautiful private beach. We really enjoyed our stay there!
Wifi was very poor. And a 5* hotel shouldn't allow to be topless or in bikinis inside the hotel, especially during breakfast! It' s a bit disgusting to see almost naked and not always pretty bodies while eating.
Hotel itself good. Bedrooms gd. Breakfasts good.
Access to Albuferia restricted if not got car. No real local bus. Hotel did run a courtesy limited bus service. Not many amenities around hotel.
I liked location of the Hotel - very quite area, near lovely beach between cliffs. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Downside was that there where some pre season fixing works going on. I understand that we were there in not busy time, but all painting and fixing jobs could be done in wintertime. Internet was very slow i think some hostels have better wifi. I had bad experience in the breakfast - there is small egg station where you can get freshly made eggs which is nice but be aware of egg lady i had really bad experience with her.
The a la carte restaurant was superb. The dishes were created like works of art! The variety at the breakfast buffet was very good. The beach was reached by a lovely 400metre boardwalk and was stunning. Also had a cafe and bathroon facilities.
We had to purchase bathing caps to use the indoor pool. There was an additional 10Euro per day charge to use the indoor spa whirlpool sauna ... A little far from the centre of town although 3 free shuttle buses daily were available.
Service from Roberto - outstanding! Beach.
Food - could be better / broader selection. Spa at additional cost.
