No gym room
Very helpful staff Amazing location and views
Very difficult to find, especially at night
The young man (who spoke French) in the restaurant. He was so kind, informative and helpful. Besides the great view from the hotel balcony, he was most certainly a big PLUS. We liked the phone call to the room informing us of our breakfast delivery - nice touch.
Lost in the dark. Phoned the hotel 3 times. Apparently the phone system was not working. Thank goodness for GPS. We were so lost. No directional signs to hotel. Check in staff was not helpful or apologetic for the non-working phone system, or that we had been lost. Hotel smelled like pet deodorizer and was SO strong it was hard to breath. Carpet was dirty. Balcony only seats one person. No duvet covers on the bed. No privacy in the bathroom. No kleenex. Food in the restaurant appeared old/not fresh and both myself and husband had upset stomachs after our meal. We checked out early and moved to another hotel.
The girl at the reception was outstandig. Very reactive upon every request and provided us with some very good recommendations of addresses to visit.
The quality of the dinner was not what could have been expected in relation to the other services of the hotel.
The building itself, an excellent corner suite, friendly helpful staff, generally good and often excellent food, interesting wines by the glass.
The Tasting menus. The friendliness of the staff. The wonderful views. The proximity to the wine estates. The white sangria poolside. The breakfast.
Not having stayed for more than 2 days.
The rooms are very comfortable and well decorated. The view is breathtaking. It's a perfect place to relax and recharge batteries.
Wi-Fi didn't work properly in the room.
staff exceptionally friendly pool view breakfast dinner!! great food! codfish and squid
not enough mattresses wifi at dinner time was too slow on one day. The next day it was ok again.
Amazing view, great food and very nice and helpful staff
Very comfortable room with splendid view over the river towards Peso de Regua. Staff were friendly & accommodating. Dinner was well presented & most enjoyable although the portion sizes are on the lower end of the scale. The buffet breakfast was one of the best that we have ever seen in Portugal.
The car park was rather small & cramped for space.
As a family with a 4 year old we had a great stay at the hotel. Staff is very helpfull, pool is very clean and quiet. Food and drinks are of excellent price/quality. Views are perfect, we will definitely go back in the near future. A perfect relaxing experience.
Only negative point was that we could only connect one device via WIFI while it should have been three.
We enjoyed everything. The hotel is located in a very beatiful and charming place of Douro's.Hotel facilities are very nice and the staff is very focused and customer oriented.
Absolutely nothing to point out
Staff in the hotel very helpful and friendly, nice pool, superb view.
Staff in restaurant really beginners, incompetent.
Room very nice, pool good, food excellent, very pleasant stay.
I liked everything about the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suit that was a good size and very clean. My only complaint about the hotel was the bathroom. It was open plan and I didn't like it at all. I asked if this was just in the suit but was told that all the rooms are the same.
The open plan bathroom. I don't like the toilet in my bedroom. All it had round it was a glass partition.
LOCATION SWIMMING POOL RESTAURANT ROOMS
For a 4 star hotel it is really splendid, the views, the rooms, the services, the restaurant, the sympathy and the professionalism of the staff.
The wi-fi system, as well as the TV in the rooms, were not working properly, and the choice of available TV channels a bit odd, for an international (and national) audience.
the location and accommodations were fantastic. Xcellent service and staff. Views were magnificent.
Pool is wonderful as well as the view of the Douro river from everywhere on the site. The bathroom is very nice and you can see the mountains through the glass when having a shower.
Maybe the restaurant is a little bit expensive for the food specially the steak. We might have paid for the view.
Lovely large room overlooking the River Douro.Spacious, comfortable and modern, hotel is 2 years old.We did note another reviewers comments about it being smelly but in a lovely, scented way! Very good breakfasts, wide choice and could be taken on the outside terrace.Nothing was too much trouble for the pleasant, young staff. staff. We ate in the dining room one evening and had the tasting menu which wasn't too expensive considering it included wine, water and the usual extras of bread and olives. Agree about the WiFi,was a bit hitty Missy but got there in the end. Would highly recommend this hotel,we had a wonderful few days here.
Superb contemporary design, beautifully presented, with a stunning view over the Douro valley. All the rooms and public areas have an open outlook as the hotel is built along a hillside to make the most of its location.
Front desk manager was excellent, very helpful and upgraded us to the best suite, which helped to make this one of the best stays we had in Portugal. Some of the other (younger) staff seemed a bit tense or slow to engage, I suspect because the "operating rules" for a hotel with such high standards of presentation and yet operating in the middle of the countryside must be quite daunting to them. This didn't detract from our enjoyment, it's just an observation.
The location & the views..
The lack of understanding. No management presence. Very slow service.
Incredible value for money
The staff were great and the food delicious. The view was breathtaking. Pool was just right and overall a very peaceful hotel. Would stay again just for the view only.
Wireless was "meh". Laundry is ridiculously expensive. Travelling through Portugal and €8 a shirt and €5 a T-Shirt is not acceptable anywhere. Zero privacy in the bathroom - a large window overlooking the shower. Search for images.
Beauty of hotel, location, helpfulness of staff, admin, and care for the guests well being. The views are to die for and location near to Peso da Regua and the wine estates are key considerations.
