Situated in the golden plains of the west side of the Guadiana River, in the village of Moura, this 17th century hotel provides the ideal base for your relaxing getaway.

The charm of this fabulous, ornate building, with its outdoor pool, allows you to truly unwind. In the evening, you are welcome to relax by the fireplace in our reading room with a book or a board game. Converted to a hotel in 1900, the building is continually maintained in order to offer guests better services and comforts.

The interior yard, backyard and multi-purpose rooms are available for events such as weddings, parties, conferences and conventions.

Hotel information

The building is in the process of being classified as "Património de interesse público". There is a vaulted construction, with the front covered by ceramic tiles with fret-work of decoration, squared stones (ashlar masonry) on the first floor's span and frames in mass on the others, and also a balustrade with statuettes and ceramic flower-pots. The yard and the central stair case are remarkable elements as well.

To honour such a prestigious building, we planned works of recuperation and improvement for 2010 to upgrade the classification of the hotel, extending and improving the quality of its services, transforming it into a real charming, historical and comfortable hotel. The predicted intervention serves not only to respect, but also to recover the outline and architectural original characteristics of the building.

Area information

The district of Moura (Moura literally means Moorish woman) has had an intense human occupation in the course of history as a result of its mineral wealth and its proximity to important rivers (Ardila and Guadiana) and agricultural areas.

Travel information

By Car:
From Porto:
- Take the A1 motorway up to Santarem.
- Then take the A13, followed by the A6 towards Evora.
- From Evora take the IP2 national road up to Portel and then the N384 (local road which passes in the Alqueva`s Dam) up to Moura.

From Lisbon:
- Take the A2 (the old bridge 25 de Abril) or the A12 (the new bridge Vasco da Gama) to Evora.
- From Évora, follow the directions as above.

From Faro:
- Take the Via do Infante motorway, then the A2 up to Ourique.
- Exit the A2 to take the IP2 until Vidigueira.
- There, turn to N258 towards Moura.

From Spain:
- Entering in Rosal de La Frontera, go to Vila Verde de Ficalho.
- Turn right to the N385 up to Sobral da Adiça and then to the left, taking local road 255-1 towards Moura.
