Dom Jose Beach Hotel  

The Dom Jose Beach Hotel is in an idyllic location overlooking a beautiful clean beach coupled with an excellent sea view from the front rooms. We upgraded to a luxury superior room with a superb sea view and it was well worth it. Our room was nicely furnished and cleaned every day by friendly and courteous staff. The buffet breakfast was excellent every morning. We ate out each evening in an array of excellent restaurants and also spent a number of mornings aroung the lovely marina in Vilamoura which is about 10 mins away by taxi or by a nice brisk half-hour walk via the sea. Quarteira is only 20 mins from Faro Airport.

Its location which is at the centre of all the activities in Quarteira and the good quality of the hotel.

I think that a small fridge in the rooms would be very welcome by hotel guests.

Very comfortable hotel, staff were exceptionally friendly and the location was perfect. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Only thing we didn't like were the beds, a little bit too hard and uncomfortable but I suppose that's typical of beds abroad!

the view of the ocean is incredible. right in front of the ocean, with only a promenade separating you from the beach, it's a pleasure to walk around early in the morning or late in the evening.

the internet is too expensive, should be free, at least in the lobby if not in all the rooms. The days of a wired PC in the hotel lobby are long gone. Almost everybody now has a smartphone or a laptop, so wireless access (free) is a must in my opinion.

The location was perfect... All we wanted was a beach across the road from the hotel which is not in a crowded highrise area with too many people. The hotel staff were more than accommodating... The first room that we got was not suitable to us as there was a "sewer smell" or something like that... The very second we mentioned it at Reception we were given a great room on the 7th floor which we thanked the staff for... No nonsense or fuss here... That was a good experience. The seating area around the bar was very comfortable and no pressure from anyone whether we just sat there for a while or ordered tea/coffee - it had a sea view and at times one would imagine being on a cruise liner when looking out to sea. We also trust booking.com always so that was a great comfort too when booking an area we did not even know.
