- the best localisation: in the heart of Baixa/Chiado district, on the commercial and tourist Augusta Avenue, - very close to main metro stations, - in proximity with the tram number 28 tour, - elegant, comfortable rooms - azujejos in the oldschool bathroom made the atmosphere
No wifi Room stayed unclean for two days
that res. confirmation said air condition, private balcony, flat screen TV none of which the room had. the reaction of staff that these things are never guaranteed absolutely no customer service attitude from staff
The front desk was very helpful
The staff was not polite
Great location Staff very helpful, went out of the way to fix problem for you
Great location also comes with some unwanted noise late at night
Terrific location and cheap
Looks pretty old
It was so annoying that they don't have free wifi. You can't find a hotdog stand in Portugal that does not offer free Wifi, but this hotel can't deliver that service.
Location is the only thing positive about this hotel. Location is ok, and great if you prefer shopping but a bit far from activities, nice restaurants, the river and more interesting and charming parts of Lisbon.
Everything is bad except location and the rooms are not the ones shown in pictures online. When booked a double room 30 square meter with balcony, flat screen tv etc we were put in an old, dirty 8 square meter single room with barely a window and a bad smell. At least 4 other guests complained at the same time as me at the reception. Please don't support this hotel by staying here, the pictures lie and you can find a lot better places for the price!
I loved the location and stuff. It was a really pleasant stay. I had a quite old room but with nice terrace and a view.
Breakfast is really poor and I slept in an old room with old windows so it was really loud from outside. I would like to have a fan or airconditioning as well.
The breakfast was rich, we liked it.
The room was really too small and after some days we felt as being without air; moreover the window could not be closed completely. The cleaning was not perfect. The staff at the desk seemed incompetent and unpleasant. Finally, the wifi connection and access was not freely available but really costly.
Location is good due to access to city.
Had booked a room on the front with a balcony. Went up to our room, opened the window to see it was faxina the back of someones kitchen and a brick Wall. We went to tell the receptionist, who merely shrugged, signed and told us to try another. The second room was a bit better, but still not nice! Would not stay here again! Dirty in lift with naked photos stuck on! Avoid!
Location Easy access to Public transport
Old And noisy rooms, the reception is not helpfull The rooms were not clean enough The Breakfast were poor. The room did not have air conditioning
The place where the hotel is located is amazing! It's confortable, and not too expensive! It was good.
It's a little old, and the elevator is broke sometimes, the staff wasn't too nice, but everything else was
Its location is perfect, and the staff is very cordial.
There was neither fridge and nor air conditioner in the room.
ants in the room, holes in the wall, paint out the windows, small room, bathroom dirty and very small, breakfast bad, no air conditioning,
Quality of breakfast
Perfect location, friendly staff
Room was all other than offered: small under the roof, no balcony but only mini roof window, mini shower cabin, bad smell and cheap mattresses.
My room doesn't have airconditioning and chair
Nothing - It was altogether dreadful
Expensive for the old and filthy room; TV was a joke; Internet not included; Staff were not helpful or experienced; Room was DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY; Housekeeping threw the trash in the toilet (plastic, etc) and didn't flush; Piled the unused bedspread in the closet instead of folding; Window did not lock well (security risk with adjacent balconies); So noisy had to keep the windows closed, but then roasted with no air; cheap fan to ameliorate lack of ventilation was loud and vibrated; elevator was stuck on other floors and had to carry bags up and down stairs; bathroom was so small I fell trying to enter the shower; etc; etc
The location was excellent and the room generally clean but that's as far as it goes.
The hotel, away from the small reception area, was shabby and desperately in need of refurbishment. Ceilings and walls in our third floor room showed signs of previous water leaks; plaster was cracked and falling off the walls. Although fairly clean and with comfortable beds, the room was desperately in need of updating. Breakfast was very disappointing despite being a buffet. Food was laid out on a very small table and staff had to be asked to replenish the meagre selection of cheese and yoghurt. A small selection of cakes and bread were provided but were tasteless and ran out on one occasion. The area for bread and drinks was far too narrow and there was continual congestion. To pay for internet access by the hour and to have to pay €1.50 per day for the use of a safe key was ridiculous. Despite being advertised as having a flat screen tv, our room did not have one. In order to operate the antiquated alternative I had to climb on the suitcase stand to turn it on/off due to its high location.
- good location in the center of Lisbon
- awful, stinky rooms (in one of booked rooms there were some insects!), poorly equipped, very hot and loud - uncongenial and unhelpful staff - uniquely poor breakfast as for Portugal
The hotel is situated absolute in the center of the city. It was only about a 17 minute €15 taxi ride to the airport. Metro station Baixa-Chiado is on the left side 2 min walking distance and Rosio station is on the right side 3 min away. Metro ticket is €1.4. We had a lovely five night stay. We saw The Rolling Stones concert at the Rock in Rio. The hotel is clean and comfortable, staff are very helpful. The breakfast was fine, and there was plenty of bread, yogurt cheese and pastries. The breakfast buffet area is small and can get crowded at times, but the dining area is lovely. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms on the 4th floor, which had a balcony and was air conditioned. When you close the window you can't hear anything from outside. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again simply for the location and price.
Only thing that I did not like is the fact that you need to pay ridiculous €2 for an hour Wi-Fi internet access, when it is free in all the restaurants around.
The only thing which is good is the place.
Maybe there is some new part in the hotel, but I was in the old one and it is very old, uncomfortable and small. And breakfast is better have in some bar, the one in the hotel isn't really delicious.
