Very pleasant hotel close to the old town centre, shops, bars and restaurants. Nice little touches i.e. bottle of water and choc bars in room on arrival, tea & breakfast making facility on request for early departures. Had a wonderful view of the town and coastline from our patio door. Great value for money.

We found the hotel very relaxing. The room no.3 Was very spacious and the view was amazing well worth the extra charge. The food was varied and lovely with a great choice. The staff esp. Reception were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. It was spotless and the room was cleaned every day. The climb from the town up to the hotel especially when it was very hot. Having to pay extra for a fridge in the room.

The sea-view from our room was great, probably the best room in the hotel for that, being up at the top of the building, which is itself towards the top of a hill. Perhaps for accessibility reasons - there's no lift on the seaward side of the hotel - it was also less-occupied than the side near the pool, making it feel pleasantly secluded. It got chilly at night, but heating was available via the air-con which was perfectly adequate to keep us comfortable. It was nice to be near the old town, albeit down the hill (and back up afterwards, plus the 40 or so steps up to the room) but we are able-bodied so it was no hardship and we got used to it. Most of the staff were very approachable, and made us feel welcome (but see below). The breakfast buffet was plentiful and catered for most tastes, although the choices never varied. The evening a la carte menu was good, but most guests seemed to go for the fixed-price all-you-can-eat buffet option with limited choice, which changed daily. The one thing we didn't like was the firmness of the bed, but we rarely find any hotel bed that is as comfortable as our own anyway. One of the staff-members seemed to find us guests a bit of a nuisance (!!), but if you persevered with the pleasantries he seemed to warm up! A bit Fawlty-esque, if you could appreciate the humour of the situation, but some previous commentators appear to have taken exception to him. He didn't spoil our holiday anyway; perhaps he was just fed up with the rudeness shown alas by all-too-many holiday-makers towards their hosts.

Sea sight was promised and booked. It appeared to be noting more than 10% sea sight. Complaining about this we were promised a better room the next day. Not much better.

Clean and comfortable, good food although dining room very crowded at times grounds very clean and tidy.Especially noted groundsman always busy and appeared very concientious. Good range of snacks available at poolside cafe but unfortunately coffee undrinkable!! Hotel clean and comfortable, but was described as a short walk from fishermans beach, no mention made of very steep gradients on way to the lift to beach, the walk down took almost half an hour!!!!! Some mention could have been made in hotel description regarding persons with walking difficulties,Loved Albuferia and would return but not to Hotel do Cerro for this specific reason. Would have liked the option of tea or coffee at dinner time. Would recomend to others but with a warning about the gradients

The hotel is very nice. It has interesting traditional design with typical portugues features. We had a room with a balcony and sea view - it's not very big but clean and nice, with spacious and recently renewed bathroom. WiFi signal is always good in the room and it was provided for free at a low season. The hotel is non-smoking so any unplesant smells etc. It's always easy to find a free parking place near the hotel. The hotel staff is always helpful and attentive, speaking good english. Breakfast is ok (it has variety of foods but it's always the same every day so don't expect too much). Albufeira is a nice vivid town with good beaches and nice bars and restaurants so I enjoyed my stay there and in this hotel in particular. Before booking any hotel in Albufeira pay attention to the location, the town is situated mainly on the hills so if the hotel is not directly on the beach it means that you need to walk up a lot. Hotel Do Cerro is about 10 minutes of walk from the closest beach and about 15-20 minutes of walk from the old center - always up. We were there in May and we're young so it was ok but I think for the elder people and in hot season this could make a problem. Another thing I didn't like is that the hotel provides ordinary services such as indoor pool, sauna, safe (and even wifi in a high season as we understood) for additional payment - the price for the rooms is not so low and such services should be included.

The view from the hotel room - we had a fantastic view of the whole of the length of the beach and coast of Albufera The food at breakfast was pretty basic and the cooked food fairly inedible most days but when my husband found a dead cockroach (yes you read that right) on the fourth morning in amongst the sausages we really wished we hadn't paid so much attention to the price and location. Staff including the manager were incapable of dealing this with adequately and seemed to think that a bottle of local vino was sufficient to put things right

The independence due to the sparce layout of rooms. The pool is too small (outdoor and indoor) and the quality is slightly low considering that it is a four star hotel.

This hotel was good value for money The room that we were given was outside the hotel in an apartment block which was ok but when you had climbed the steps in the hotel you then had to climb another set of stairs to the room. The bed and pillows were very firm and not very comfortable

The room had a nice view and was close to the beach. It was a good value for money. The breakfast buffet was nice. The hotel had both pool and gym. The room was not made up when we arrived, even though we arrived at 3:30 pm in the afternoon so we had to wait. There was a cockroach in the room, so it was obviously not so clean.

We received excellent service from Paulo Guerreiro, front desk manager,he went out of his way to make sure we an excellent stay, he provided us with timely information of things to do and what to be on the lookout, the service and information he provided us made our stay at your hotel and hotel that much more enjoyable, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your establishment to others. My complain is address towards the room cleaning staff, I expected the glasses in the room to be clean ,they were never washed or replace with clean glasses everyday, also the floor in the room was not vacumed or swept daily.,those are points your hotel should improve on.

Very good value for money and so convenient to the old part of the city and shops. Staff very helpful. Rooms very very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was also good. We were upgraded, at no extra cost, to a superior room with a magical view of the beach and town so I do not know what the standard room was like.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is nice and homey. Free WiFi which is great. So many hotels try to rip you off for extra charge for WiFi or offer no service. Great breakfast buffet. The only thing we did not like was the coffee. This seems to be a gripe with most visitors.
