This hotel is set in the most amazing grounds, a botanic garden of its own. Beautiful plants, birds, scenery, views and fantastic friendly staff. My husband and i celebrated our anniversary there and we felt as if we had found paradise. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough, it is a very special place. The food in the restaurant is top class and the cocktail menu a delight to explore! WOW! |

Large clean room, very comfortable. Very comfortable bed. Good restaurant, friendly staff who go out of their way to help you with anything during your stay. Nice pool and garden area. Little or no sea-view, which is due to the location of most rooms and of the hotel in general - had the impression from the website that the hotel would have good views over the ocean, which was not the case (however, views are not bad: the gardens are fantastic!). - The gym could do with a little bit of up-grading. |

Excellent, quiet and spotless hotel, surrounded by luxurious gardens and with a very well designed pool area. The hotel staff is extremely attentive and helpful. The pillows could have been a bit softer. |

Die Zimmergröße ist sehr ansprechend. Die Pool- und Gartenanlage ist wunderschön. Das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig. Das am Pool angebetone Essen sowie das Abendessen im Beresford - Restaurant ist zwar nicht ganz billig, aber sehr gut. Ebenfalls sehr gut war, dass immer ausreichend Parkplätze in der Anlage vorhanden waren, was in Funchal sehr wichtig ist. Das Frühstück ist auf Dauer eintönig. Es fehlt an Abwechslung. Im Zimmer roch es immer komisch. Die Zimmer sind unwahrscheinlich hellhörig. Man hört, wenn der Nachbar sich im anderen Zimmer unterhält bzw. schnarcht. Auch die Reinigungskräfte auf dem Flur sind sehr gut zu hören. |
