Total attention to quality and comfort at a very competitive price. New facilities and furniture. Friendly, helpful and highly professional staff. The location required a slightly longer walk to center of city than some other hotels, but this trade-off was well worthwhile for the quality and price of the accommodation. We stayed in 6 hotels during our 14 night stay in Portugal - the Das Artes was both the cheapest and the best (only the Hotel Bairro Alto in Lisbon, at more than 3x the price, could compare).

The room and bathroom were spacious enough. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The first concierge we met was very helpful and gave us many good addresses for diner. Unfortunately other concierges were not as knowledgable when questioned about touristic information.

Don't hesitate in booking this Hotel if you are visiting Porto, you could not ask for more. The location is great for downtown 10 minute walk, bus trips can be picked up 2 minutes away, restaurants & shopping in the vinicity, bus to Foz located 2 minutes away. Breakfast super and staff so helpful. Our room was excellent. Value for money - definitely!

The hotel rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. We've asked for a high floor with a view and we got it. The breakfast was reach and tasty. Above all the reception team was very friendly and helpful. Marcia who welcomed us when we checked in, gave us a very personal and warm welcome, had great advise about the city and around. We met many helpful and warm people in Portugal but Marcia was exceptional.

Pleasant and efficient staff Their wireless Internet was so poor that it could only be used in the lobby. It would be more honest not to claim It was available in rooms. Even in the lobby, it was weak and dropped out often.

The staff at Eurostars was so helpful, the breakfast buffet was fantastic and the rooms were very good. We found it very difficult initially to find the hotel. Coming off of the bus from the airport is a very misleading sign pointing to the hospital as the direction to go for Eurostars.

Breakfast: good location in a veranda. Many options, even for those on diet. Good pastries and bread. Room 217, Habitación Romántica, 94 euro/night -- bad (and frequent even in 4* hotels) habit to clean bathroom with dirty mop. On our arrival in the room, hair on bidet and wc! When we asked to come and clean, a lady went to clean in the bathroom with another dirty mop! -- when the asked taxi arrived, nobody helped with luggage.

The breakfast was unusually good for Portugal (where breakfast is usually just a cafe and a pastry), and included fresh juices, cooked eggs, sausage, mushrooms, a selection of pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals, and unlimited cups of coffee or tea. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially at the front desk.

I loved the town Porto itself, and being able to open the windows of my hotel room and enjoy all the sights and sounds of the town from my window was great. I thought there might have been an outdoor eating area for breakfast.

High quality design and finish throughout, excellent buffet breakfast, and very helpful staff. Overall, a very relaxing, friendly and comfortable hotel and good value for money. Standard of cleanliness was exceptionally good, air-con very effective and bathroom very well fitted out. Our room was a bit small, especially with a 6 foot bed. Hotel is located a little far from Porto centre and there is a steep climb back, although you do learn that there are short cuts and back alleys (some not too prepossessing late at night but we had no problems) - otherwise taxis are cheap. Immediate area of hotel a little down at heel and the street is fairly noisy to the front. The gulls are particularly raucous!

We enjoyed our2-night stay at the hotel. Good location, pleasant room.We didn't take the breakfast as it seemed overpriced and there are many small bars around with perfectly good coffee and pastries. Wifi was not working in the room but the reception gave us a cable so you can plug your computer directly onto the internet. The hotel has not yet answered my email sent 2 days ago regarding something I may have left in the room...

This was our second stay here - again the staff were very friendly and courteous, with excellent English. The rooms were spotless with very comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. It is quite a distance from the train station and the metro.
